Well he certainly is...uh...blue?

Good grief, I had to tone down the brightness on my computer screen to keep from being blinded by the baby blue bot...

This set is very quickly falling off my "to buy" list. Oh wait...fell off ages ago with the multiple Starscream repaints...

Nahh, too easy!

I do have to admit that I can handle this color better than the RatBat repaint. I'm just trying to wrap my brain around revamping an already Cybertronian design. And how is Scourge supposed to exist in a pre-earth timeline when he was created in "2005"?
I hate to be an anal retentative geek about this. The toy looks good and I've always liked that particular Sideways mould, I just think that the backstory needs tweaking or another character (maybe a Target-master jet minus the partner) would have better filled the role. Instead of Kup they should have made his figure Grand Slam and made this one Raindance and darkened the blue. Sure they don't combine and it screws with the comic continuity but they would have made for a more belivable and marketable set of figures. Fewer fans follow the comic continuity than the TV/Movie timelines.

...and what? Scourge should be gold with pink highlights maybe? He's frickin' blue. They made him blue....bring out the pitchforks!

Yeah, 0 for 2 so far in my opinion. Scourge looks like poop. What's the deal with the powder blue paint? Was it on sale or something?

There was a sale on powder blue paint. Everyone wants powder blue Transformers. My father got married in a powder blue tux. You know that haunted him for the rest of his life. Kup and Scourge have to live with that every day. Poor Kup and Scourge. Poor, poor Kup and Scourge.

It's not bad, but not great either. I was really hoping for a new mold of Scourge in the third set of Classics/Universe figures (If Hasbro continues to keep them as fillers in between the movies). Hmm gonna have to wait and see what the rest of the figures look like, but by that time I'm sure they will all be sold out!

Not feeling it...I guess this means we wont be getting a G1 style Scourge for the Universe line to go with Cyclonus and Galvatron.

I got ten bucks that says another exclusive will be that same figure with a slightly altered paint scheme as a generic sweep, making army builders want to get a lot of them

My only complaint is that, going by this photo, he doesn't seem to have the alliance sigil switching gimmick this mold should have. I feel like this guy aughta at least switch between the decepticon logo and the blendtron logo (as a soldier of Unicron).

That logo wasn't introduced till one of the Japanese BW series, though. (Forget if was The Second or Neo, but it makes sense that Hasbro didn't do it that way...)

Looks really good, though.

Awesome! I'm totally excited about this year's set now. I can understand that some may not like it at first glance, but I for one disagree and will be happy to add the set to my collection.

It's the same as Kup, good mold, but it doesn't fit the character.

And with this preview, I'm officially uninterested in this year's set, which makes it easy to pay down some credit card debt at least. Like last year's, I'll probably just end up hunting down a figure or two if they really interest me like the Dark Rodimus did last year. Nothing horribly wrong with these first few previews...just nothing incredibly awesome for me.

On that Scourge, though, I will say that the head mold is fantastic--love the 'stache. I think the turn-off on the thing as a whole is that there's too much red mixed with the blues. He ends up looking like something mildly patriotic over something inherently evil.

I like the new head sculpt, but ALSDJF! again another mold I just happened to have recently collected more than 1 of. A couple months ago I picked up a Cybertron Sideways vs Red Alert combo pack, then soon after that, grabbed the Springer vs Ratbat Target exclusive combo.

But besides the fact that I have bad luck, I really like it.

So it seems this isn't the large fig of the pack.

I am really surprised so many posters are crapping on this, the headmold is pure scourge and I think the mold choice is inspired.

so far, not liking the set. my concern is whether or not this means these count as universe Kup and Scourge, and if so, are we screwed all around? i.e. no botcon set, no finishing a G1 universe collection, or get it and be stuck with less than stellar repaints

also, scourge looks like alpha trion

That is terrible! That has gotta be the worst mold choice they could have made for Scourge. That mold would make an awesome Cyclonus, but not Scourge. Look! His head is totally squashed to fit into the cockpit. Why couldn't they use Titanium Scourge, or Energon Mirage, or even Cybertron Thunderblast.

I don't understand why people are thinking that we can't get a Universe Scourge now. Springer was a Botcon exclusive 2 years ago, and yet Springer was a Target exclusive last year as well! All we need is a new mold for him in Universe, so he can stand proudly with Cyclonus and , uh, Galvatron (I guess. Not fond of U-Galvatron). Well, at least he could stand proudly with Cyclonus.

So far this set isn't bad, but it really isn't exciting me. I won't decide for certain until I'm holding the set at BotCon, but there's a chance I may decide to sell this puppy off.
