There's no way they'd release an MP Megs as a tank because it's just not G1 accurate.
Galvatron could be a retool of the Leader Megatron mould, since he often appears as a tank. However, I'm not sure if they'd use that mould 3 times. If they're not going with a combined Galvatron, then he himself may be part of a Combiner. Perhaps a Voyager figure with a new mould. I'd be well up for that, but I wouldn't know what mould they'd use. Possibly Prime/Menasor, but again, not sure if they'd use it a 3rd time.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Or fourth time if the Defensor rumours are true.

They'll use a mold until it spontaneously combusts. How many iterations of the classics seeker mold are there?

Well to be honest, I do love that seeker mold.
On the other hand, Star Saber was worked on on the side of the other more main MPs, what with it being the personal pet project of Yuki-san rather than being developed by either Hasui-san (the main man behind the MPs since MP-10) or Kobayashi-san (Hasui-san's successor).Dead Metal wrote:I was going to say that we shouldn't count Star Sabre as this year's big one since Takara stated it wouldn't interfere with the main line and would be a stand alone piece - then I remembered how it's now designated as MP24, so I guess it's our big one this year. This still leaves the spot for two brand new mold characters though. Since we're already getting two small repaints this year (Exhaust and G2 Bumblebee).

That's kind of what I was thinking. If there is another large one in the works for this year, I'd still bet that it would be released end of December, a la Ultra Magnus. I do wonder if Ironhide and the eventual Ratchet will count as larges, and be somewhat on the order of Soundwave size

Ratchet and Ironhide make the most sense to me. Even if the person who supplied the info in the first place was downright lieing (which is probably not the case), I am certain those 2 are in the works. They are firstly, autobots (yeah I know, more autobots), very well known characters, and the same mold. This is the MP recipe right there.
The Megs as a tank is too much of a coincidence with the generations version. With the different reports on the composition of the upcoming generations Devastator being supposedly due to different inferences based on a picture, I can totally see how a retailer could confuse Gen Megs with an MP release with that Takara picture.
And this talk of Galvatron is getting me all hot. I didnt know there were talks for a combiner wars inclusion or anything of the sort. I just want a bigger Galvatron who,s arms doesnt pop off every time I transform him.

Ill drink to that. I actually like the mold in of itself (if it was the only figure I had but it won't be heading up my top three of the line), it just sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other cons. I'd take a combiner or a stand alone kick bum voyager that would look great standing on the bodies of his foes.
But if he's a combiner then who will he combine with?

But, since I have no idea when and how those rumors started, having just recently discovered them myself, it could just be based on speculation due to Galvatron's new idw design. So I remain skeptical.

I think the tank Megatron rumour is simply someone mistaking the Leader class figure, as Dead Metal has suggested. There's no way they'd release an MP Megs as a tank because it's just not G1 accurate.

I saw on another site's boards that someone had commented that CW Motormaster kind of looks like movie Galvatron. Seriously I think that's where it started.

Dont these listings already confirm those rumours?

Not when Taobao is a C2C site rather than a B2C site. It's like if some Joe Shmoe were to have put up those same listings on eBay, and we'd certainly know better than to view something like that as truth.william-james88 wrote:TimothyR wrote:Syn_13 wrote:I don't buy those MP rumours at all...well, maybe Ratchet/Ironhide (sharing a mould), tracks and Shockwave at a push. Last I heard of that was someone making a joke. Did some other dude try to pass that off in a serious manner?Dead Metal wrote:Then there's this guy on Alspark who claims that Titan Devastator is an up-scaled Legends ROTF Devastator![]()

Tank Megatron? In a line that currently prides itself with how close to the toon and media portrayal it is? A Galvatron, so short after the release of the supposed Megatron? And to top it all off That's 7, or if we take the other rumor into account 8 MP figures for this year, with 6 of them being new molds. And all that after Takara announced that they would make 1 large MP mold, two new small MP molds, and repaints of those each year.
Tracks and Ironhide/ Ratchet are the most believable.
What I believe happened is this:
Someone saw Takara's promo image for Leader Class tank Megatron which shows it next to MP10, and then just assumed that that was supposed to be an MP Megatron.
The Galvatron one may be a misinterpreted Combiner Wars Galvatron, which has also been rumored for a while now.
We might get a Galvatron, Shockwave, Blitzwing, Ratchet, Ironhide, and Tracks, but not necessarily as Masterpieces.
Remember How people at Toy Fair confirmed FOC Metroplex was being made into a toy, just to then end up as a Classics Metroplex and not FOC at all?
Then there was that rumor that claimed that Takara's fan poll wasn't there to decide which figure would be made for the 30th, but the order in which they're released, and of course "from a reputable insider source".
Or that Hasbro was releasing 3rd Party figures like FP's Springer and Roadbuster, or Planet X's WFC Omega Supreme in an official capacity under a special line labeled "Thrilling 30", sure we got all of those characters, but they weren't exactly the 3rd party versions.
Here's the thing, these rumors are nice and dandy, and likely based on something someone said, but either misinterpreted, confused or heard in the wrong context.
I'll wait for official confirmation before I get exited.
