Repair - Autobot Strategy

Motto: "Death is not the end."
Here's a thought to throw out that will only work if it's coordinate across multiple commanders.

Repair Strategy wrote:Repair is known to be one of the best ways to gain XP in late game; one of the primary reasons its good late game is that most characters are without END until level 2+. Therefore, what if the following occurred...

-- Autobot commanders intentionally invest in END as an important tactic beginning at Level 1
-- As levels go up so does END (1-2 at Lvl 1, 2-3 at Lvl 2, etc.)
-- Lower level bots (0-1) could take advantage of this by investing in repair and gaining the XP from the higher levels
-- Higher levels gain the benefit of being repaired, fighting longer, and winning more
-- Starting at level 1 partner repair with avoid for the dual benefits of the avoid XP bonus and repair effectiveness
-- Starting in late level 1 / early level 2 partner repair with ram (as ram is already proven as a mission winner by Bots, myself, and Burn)

The net effect of multiple commanders doing this (and generally knowing when they'll have similar backup) could catapult Autobot victories forward.

Alt-Modes usable for this strategy
-- Construction Vehicle (1k Ram, 4k Repair [1 INT required])
-- Helpful Air Animal (1k Avoid, 3k Repair)
-- Helpful Land Animal (1k Repair, 4k Ram)
-- Light Rescue Vehicle (1.5k Repair, 3.5k Avoid)
-- Noble Air Animal (1.2k Repair, 3k Avoid)
-- Opportunistic Land Animal (1k Avoid, 3k Repair)

If the above is followed, Strafe can be added to maximize damage; I say Strafe can be added because Ram is also defensive because of the effects of stun. Strafe is offensive only and therefore needs some backup. However, if 30-50% of the Bots somehow incorporate Repair and all incorporate END, then the remainder can be pure damage or damage / avoid.

Coordinating so that Repair can be effective without Intelligence investments could make an effective machine. As most know I'm a former-Bot-now-Pred so if this works it hurts me; but given the response to the Autobot Perception thread I wanted to give a possible rallying point for some coordination between players.

Precisely the confirmation needed. On principal, if he had similar backup, it would even better. *everyone else hint hint, nudge nudge*

neliz, for the 163k XP Cosmos has, here's an alternative build that may work better (until more repairers come on board). The CRG is the key change.
2 END, 5 CRG, 3 FP, 4 Repair, 4 Strafe (161k total)

Edit: Naturally that 5th CRG could be swapped for 1 SPD. Or swap the 5th for 1 SPD and then END with CRG all together (to end with 4 END and 2 CRG). That fourth FP seems very costly given how CRG is gaining importance once you pass Level 1.

Naturally - we all take our beatings. I edited the above with ramblings... out of those ramblings swapping the 5th CRG for 1 SPD may be the most useful tidbit - but I'm running a pure CRG / END Strafer and have been initially happy, so the 5 CRG / 2 END / 3 FP may be effective.

Let us know.

And anyone else running with Repair/End in any fashion please post here so that Bots can look for you! You're going to help each other most if you know to join missions together.

Possibly - how many more will you give it? You were the top Bot - that says something.

It didn't help that my rammer got you early nor that your repair (14%) was on a Level 0. Otherwise the strafes worked, and you were the last to die. I wonder what prioritizing speed would do....would definitely improve the hit/miss with the Brawn Blaster.

You're not getting any support on your repairs either - the targets are without END generally.

On principal that strafe build seems to be working - given that not many (yet) have END a 3 Repair / 5 Strafe may yield more XP; that 3 FP makes the strafes deadly at these levels.

The repairs seem to float between 8-12 on 0 END; 1 END should bump that, but by how much I don't know.

If we had statistics on repairs that could help figure this out.... I'll see what I can do.

Edit 1: Excellent; I beat up a Decepticon and gathered the following.

Repair Statistics wrote:frequency= ([repair] x 3) / 100

Repair% = RANDOM[19~33] x [1+(Int x 0.1)] / [2-(End x 0.1)]

So, to break down that second formula, here's some max repair values for various END levels (assuming 0 INT).
-- 0 END, 9 - 16%
-- 1 END, 10 - 17%
-- 2 END, 10 - 18%
-- 3 END, 11 - 19%

Given this breakdown then, it would seem the repairers would be best supported by the avoid snarfers (e.g. 5 SPD, 3 END, 4 AVD, etc.) - the guys who get attacked, missed, who dodge, and they hang around. Putting END on ALL still helps, but building bots like the above would directly support the effect of having an undying Autobot army.

Suggestion: Level 2 Strafer / Avoider wrote:5 SPD, 3 END, 1 CRG, 2 FP, 4 AVD, 5 STF (178k as a Hunter)

Any suggestions for an effective Rammer with high END? Any suggestions for a Ram / Repair or Avoid / Repair combo as neliz is working the Strafe / Repair?

Edit 2:
Suggestion: Level 2 Avoid / Repair wrote:1 STR (with Iron Armor), 5 SPD, 3 END, 2 CRG, 4 AVD, 4 REP (177k as Light Rescue Vehicle, 162k as Helpful Air Animal)

Edit 3:
Could you imagine a 6 Bot side of the above Avoid / Repair.... great gravy that would really work or really suck.

What's your XP invested in? With 20k I'd expect more stats - like SPD, for a Level 1.

Smart moving balancing out the stats; you running 5/3 or still 4/4 Strafe/Repair?

Also, I like being proven right. Your repair on Snipey was for 14% and he's running 2 END. That kind of health boost can make the difference between a stasis and still fighting and, in the end, is free XP for your faction - especially when your team can take out the other side still.

Freaking awsome!! I read this topic and tried it out. I reset my 87K XP character to Light Rescure Vehicle. Forgot to equip him with a weapon and threw him in a mission. Repaired to guys (15% and 14%) and kicked and punched my way through the battle. We won and I got good XP and only 78% health  I think its working
