Looks like I'll be canceling my Takara Rodimus preorder, if it keeps the metallic sheen. Hate to take my chances on Hasbro, but I did manage to get an Arcee in the end.

Anybody find it interesting that Soundwave is pictured on those cards along with MPs? What's the deal with that? I don't want to get my hopes up too much yet for the next MP after Rodimus.

It's part of a card game, the same one that featured those Animated Repaints like the pink Blackarachnia and Chromia Arcee. Judging from those bar codes on the side, they tie in with an arcade game which seems to be all the rage in Japan. Bandai has something similar with Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. We should ask our trusty Diem

looks like a G1 repaint of Hot Rod is coming to the Transformers 2010 line. Man 2010n must be the year of the rodimus or something with Sons of Cybertron, Masterpiece Rodimus, Animated Rodimus, 3-pack Rodimus with Galvatron and Cyclonus..... Its goood that Rodimus is my favorite Autobot then!

Of course 2010 is Rodimus' year, according to the japanese cartoon it's the year he became Prime

Still looking forward to the Protector armor for my Classics, but Imma gonna get that MP Roddy too

I actually love the darker metallic color. The washed out reddish orange color of the US one is kinda ugly to me. Can't wait till he's released

It does look alright, but I want mine to fit in with all the rest of my non-shiny US Animated figs. I'm actually really glad I didn't have to resort to Takara for any of the other ones.

I guess I'm the only person who noticed that badass Animated Nemesis Prime figure! Man, that is SO going in my Nemesis Prime collection. It looks AWESOME!

G1 Hot Rod FTW. I'm guessing an Encore release. So Many Hot Rods Rodimuses to purchase now.

Glad I pre-ordered Animated Roddy. That shiny red looks quite nice.

Actually, that G1 Hot Rod is just there for illustration purposes. I can just make out G1 Prime and RM Primal in the smaller pic.

I think its BW DX Convoy. Closed Fists as opposed to open palm of the RM version.

I don't think they need to make a set. A single solo release is fine. Most people who would buy this probably already have some version of G1 rime to go with him.

Unless you want an Encore 01B Dead Prime variant to go with him with a special Matrix accessory they can pass around.

Not Nemesis, it's Black Convoy because he still has the Autobot symbol.

Thanks for correction Blurrz. I should have said Black Convoy, but I'm so used to saying Nemesis Prime. Still, the figure looks awesome, and the 4200 yen price tag, plus inevitable Ebay markup isn't TOO bad. I'm willing to pay 120 bucks for the figure.

I WILL have that TFA Black/Nemesis Prime!!!

Yeah I forgot that. I also want to mention "Protector" coming out for Rodimus too.

Good thing I only collect certain Nemesis/Black Convoy toys, those being the ones I don't own the corresponding red version of. Cuz that's expensive. I think I just can't really buy Japanese exclusives anymore.

There are only 300 of them, so expect to pay $300-$500.
