For many SDCC exclusives (though not all, obviously) this works pretty well. I missed Bruticus in 2012 but ended up buying one about a year later for what it cost initially.
Yeah, I'm not too worried on that. I'll get it at some point if I really want it, and I'll wait for a good price. To be honest, I'm not anywhere near as stressed as I was missing out on Bruticus or Metroplex. I don't think the hype, whether my personal experience or the general consensus, was quite as high this time around.
I doubt it will happen in this case, but I was able to pick up the entire 2013 boxed set on clearance from BBTS for just $200 when they had it on sale a few weeks back. That was a hell of a deal and as long as they produced the Dinobots in sufficient numbers, it shouldn't be a problem after a little bit to pick up the entire set MISB for a somewhat reasonable price (similar to how it went with Metroplex).
I suspect that once Takara releases all of their AoE Dinobots in their metallic G1-ish color schemes, the price of this set (and Slog) will likely reduce at least a bit as some collectors offload the SDCC set to pay for the Japanese imports to replace these (though they might hold on to the box/playset).
Of course, it's possible that these, or a version of these, box and all or not will show up as another con exclusive in another country or more, kinda like they did with Metroplex where similar (though not quite identical as I recall) versions were released at other conventions/shows for other markets.
Anyway, while I am skipping all of these, I wish all of you good luck and good fortune in finding deals on them in some form or another down the road for those of you who seek to acquire them.
