Nah, just kidding. Anyway, I’ve got to admit this episode almost fixed everything I didn’t like about the show. First, we have a plot (finally), some mystery and importance added to Sari and it expanded a good deal on the setting.
It really did beat the heck out of what I thought it would be.
Now in the back of my head I get the feeling the next episode will return to usual, but if it was something like this one, I’ll enjoy it. I’m going to hope this will mark the end of some of the “go nowhere” episodes and keep the story going a bit.
I expect they will go back to 'go-nowhere' episodes for a while. It seems to be more usual in American made shows. The idea is to make the audience feel they can jump in at any point without having to get up-to-date on the latest plot developments. I think the main reason there was so much plot development in this episode is because they're kicking off Season 2.
Anyhow, the go-nowhere episodes haven't bothered as long as they develop the characters, or introduce new characters. They've actually established a lot of stuff in apparently 'go-nowhere' episodes that I think we can expect to be elaborated and developed upon in future episodes. I just hope they do have some sort of grand over-arching plan for the whole series.
