And yes, the robots do need to convey emotion because this is a live action movie. It is a whole different ball game from the cartoon. I'm pretty sure humans in real life have alot more movement on their face than humans in a cartoon do. Same goes for "robot life". If these robots aren't just uncompromising drones, and can feel, relate to and become friends with a human, feel the need to protect other life forms; they have feelings, a sense of right and wrong and free will. They need to be expressive of all that. And don't give me the Darth Vader crap because he didn't comvey any emotion at all except through voice. He always looked sad because that was how his mask was built.
But this post will probably get slammed because it was written by someone who's maturity level isn't still back in the 80's watching the cartoon on TV. Face it, you'll never have the pilot episode of G1 in live action. It will not happen. Ever. And unfortunately, that is the only thing that would make you babies happy.

Unless he's Chuck Norris dressed up for Holloween.

Having recently watched the old school Macross I just have to make a small comment on that. The diaclone/microman design style, the back story and mythos, the realistic characters that the mythos allowed.
Basically the things that differentiated it from Gobots or Gundam or Macross.

That's simple.
There were plenty of mech shows around when Transformers went from nothing to global success.
Therefore the winning formula is what was unique to that line.

I actually like mouth Prime, but many of the film's changes make it a little less unique and a little more like everything else.

By that same token leanding or borrowing a cassette or CD is technically illegal.
The same fuss we have now, we had then.
The difference was that back then video recordings were inferior, no substitute, and I *think* that the RIAA took a percentage of all blank cassettes (audio at least) on the basis that they couldn't fight everyone, but needed some kind of compensation for losses due to this form of piracy.
If you ever recorded anything, lent a video, cassette, CD or DVD, made a mix tape for a loved one, or a copy of anything for a friend, or even downlaoded an image posted without the copyright owner's consent, such as fan made wallpapers, you're in no position to call those who download 'cos you're breaking the exact same laws.
The Paragon of Virtue wrote:I said what was my understanding, and I still can't find anything that says you can't make one copy for your own personal use as long as you do not make/sell copies to others.
