I completly agree with you on this.Chris™ wrote:This thread has come to show that people are really complaining about some of the most trivial things. Now I get that everyone has the right to complain if they want to but is it really that horrific that he has a mouth and his faceplate is retractable? Is it worth gettin this worked up about? And I know that its not really related to the faceplate issue, but does it really matter the the girl lead's hair isnt blond?

Cobra Commander is going to ba a 15 year old girl, Snake Eyes is going to have a mouth hole and red lipstick, and Zartan is going to turn into a duck instead of changing colors. Oh yeah, Shaq is goin to play Storm Shadow.
Close enough. One of the guys responsible for the TF movie is working on the GI Joe one. He wants the GI JOE MOVIE to be about ACTION MAN.
Yeah, it's that DiBonaventura imbecile. The same gimp who said "why would you want the original voice actors?" and who mocked the original designs.
I feel bad for the G.I.Joe folks. The TF movie folks who think they're going to do the G.I.Joe movie are in for a whole other story. Cobra Commander, Duke, Zartan ... they've all looked basically the same for the past 25 years. It's also, for the most part, been the same storyline for the past 25 years. This isn't like Transformers where the key characters undergo major changes every year (hence the confusion about what is and isn't important to each fan). For Lorenzo to come along and have the arrogance and ignorance about G.I.Joe to say that "Cobra is stupid" ... man, all I can say is "I'm sorry" to the Joe fans. They're going to get ripped apart more than the Transformers fans were.
Dragonstrike wrote:I have to agree with Seibertron on this, I mean yes, this is bad. Yes you have no right to complain about a movie after its come out and you have not seen it. We've been lied to, told to back off, brushed to the side, and completely ignored. Now, unless they've been rendering these CG images and trailers and what not the way they have and everything we've seen is a farce and they have a totally different movie behind the scenes. This movie has little going for it.
Let me bring up a new point here really quick too. Let's not forget we have some fairly good sized movie names going on here. What happens when we've seen 50% of the scenes with the Transformers already from trailers and the movie is actually more focused on humans? There was a lot of speculation early on that made it look like it was going to be more of a movie based around the human characters than the actual Transformers themselves. The thought that this could even be remotely true is scary.
In all honesty, when this movie hits theaters, I'm not rounding up my usual movie going posse. I might go with a friend. Now Pirates 3 on the other hand, I'm rounding up more than my usual movie going posse, because it has so much more potential.
Really at this point all we can hope for is, what I like to call, the Scooby Doo Effect. When Scooby when live action, first movie was terrible. However, the second movie cameback and was awesome and worth seeing. We can still hope that Transformers 2, if there's a franchise left to have a sequel movie that is, might be able to put back some of those chunks they've shaved off.
Seibertron wrote:This really pisses me off. It's Optimus-f'in-Prime for crying out loud. Can we at least have ONE thing in this movie not be changed for the sake of changing? I can't believe how passive so many people are being about this decision. And don't bring up the whole Optimus Primal thing. I would have been fine if they did the Beast Wars or Cybertron approach with movie Prime. This just looks ridiculous. How anyone at ILM or Dreamworks or even at Hasbro thought this looked even remotely good or "cool" seriously needs to get their eyes checked.
Please keep the entire design staff as far away as possible from G.I.Joe and any future Super Hero movies. Next thing you know we'll have a yellow Spider-Man with a visor and pinchers on his face as well as the Blue Lantern, a red Batman, a green Superman and a pink Wolverine. After seeing Spider-Man tonight and seeing how faithful they are to his costume, it helped me realize how disappointed I am to this day in the robot designs in this movie. I don't care what the reasons are for it, these design changes were poor decisions from the get-go and are completely unnecessary regardless of what mumbo-jumbo they want to make up to spin these changes to the public.
Don't get me wrong ... I'm extremely excited about the movie. But I feel a strong sense of Deja Vu. Beast Machines comes to mind. Great story. Absolutely horrible designs.

I haven't liked the creative choices Bay & Co. have made all along and this is just another bad idea. The horrible look of the Transformers are the thing that bothers me the most and the script didn't impress me. I'll pass.
Kalon wrote:And this is one of the many reason I will not pay to see this "film". I'll download it or get a bootleg copy. Bay and Co will not see a dime from me for this piece of crap disguised as a movie.
I think personally the movie folks have a little bit too much Politically Correct paranoia in them. I think they have forgotten that when foreign audiances see a G I Joe film, they are obviously going to expect to see a G I Joe film. Including it having a distinct GI Joe "flavor." If said audience doesn't see a recognizably GI Joe film, they are understandably go to feel ripped off out of their hard earned cash, because why see a GI Joe titled film, if you are not going to see GI Joe titled elements?durkadurka wrote:OMG! I just read that G.I. Joe thing on a yahoo movie page. WTF are these people thinking?!? I've been reading in this forum for quite a while, because i'm a child of the 80's and just got my interest back into my childhood favorites like Transformers and GI Joe. Now, with that said, the movie folks are trying to change the name because international audiences won't like it? Excuse me? Isn't GI Joe the "Real AMERICAN Hero?"

Why can't we... and they may be trivial to you, but obviously not to others.
May ask why you keep reading it, if you are upset about people voicing their opinions?
I do not want to see Prime's human face 99% of the movie. if he slides his face plate off once, I'm fine, if it's the reverse, I believe we have a legitimate gripe.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

nelson_michaelbay_com wrote:Yes, next time I'll shut up and let you find out til you sit your ass in the theater.
In fact, there was some info that i was going to let the online community know about this week regarding the designs of certain TF characters and the reasons for the designs. But I'll let you find out about it when and if it comes out on DVD.
Maybe some of you guys can handle more surprises from left field come 7/4/7.
Bender Prime wrote:Sky Captain? I fell asleep in that. Favreau is ok but he is not an action director.
Bay knows how to frame a shot, he is good at action, he is perfect for this film.
I mean let's get real, it's a film about giant f..... robots, not some European arthouse flick! Bay is the man for the job, in fact he is my first pick.
Just you wait, this film is going to rock.
