You're nuts. That's like having bin laden coming to help us in conflict and ask the US for truce.
Varia31 wrote:Okay, so, Megatron dies. Hopefully it makes a little more sense when you see it in the film. Sounds pretty crazy though. Hopefully seeing the movie will be better than a review, it sometimes is better to see for yourself. Thanks for the review Seibertron, I really appreciate the opinion of a fellow fan. I have a question though Seibertron, before Starscream's death, does he still get to kill Mirage/Dino like in the novel? It's nice that he gets to blow more stuff up, but does he still get to overpower an Autobot?
Seibertron wrote:Mindmaster wrote:So the kill count is as following;
Autobots
*Ironhide (why?! He was so cool in the movies! But he was cooler in the original show though)
*Sentinel Prime (maybe should be in either Decepticons or just neutral)
*"Q" (Wheeljack)
Decepticons
*Megatron (is this for real, or was Seibertron just saying that Prime was doing what he does best?)
*Starscream
*Shockwave
*Barricade ()
So let's get to the point; Utterly disappointed how not only do some of these beloved characters die out, but the fact Sentinel ends up betraying, killing Ironhide, and gets killed by Optimus. I also hate how Shockwave doesn't speak at all, including the game.
You forgot Soundwave!

First Gen wrote:Director Michael Bay bids farwell to the Transformers live action movie franchise with both a figurative and literal bang in the third installment of the series, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Filled with more characters and action than any of the previous films, Dark of the Moon gives many Transformers fans what they were hoping for in the first two films.
For the fan that was hoping for a very "Dark" and gruesome film, filled with intense battles and hopeless situations, Dark of the Moon delivers on all counts. Where it misses, yet again, is storywise. Throw continuity out the window when you sit in your theatre seat to watch this two hour plus film. Don't expect to learn anything, at all, about new characters introduced in the film and forget trying to connect the three films together because its just not gonna happen. DOTM seems to try and erase the fact that Revenge of the Fallen ever happened. It almost makes the first film irrelevant, but you can stretch your imagination a bit to kind of see how the two are related beyond starring characters.
Warning!!! Spoilers ahead ...
The film starts with are most detailed look at Cybertron and its landscape as the battle between Autobots and Decepticons rages on. The Ark ship is in flight but is shot, and presumably lost, at the end of the scene. Back on Earth, the Autobots are working with NEST to take out human threats, illegal neucular facilities and such, while the human protagonist, one Sam Witwicky, struggles to find a job post graduation. One thing about DOTM, the human interaction scenes give you time to take in who the people are and lay some sort of foundation on them, but when you get to the robot scenes, they just kind of appear and leave.
The Autobots learn of the lunar landing and its purpose when they visit a quiet town in the Ukraine known as Cherynobl. Here we get our first look at Shockwave, and I literally mean looks cause he appears and he's gone. He doesn't speak, not that it matters cause he only speaks Cybertronian for about 3 lines at the end of the film anyway. We get our first glimpse at how humans have been working with, or for, the Decepticons since the beginning of the space race of the 60's and just how much the Decepticons value our friendship.
Optimus is pretty upset that information has been withheld from him but quickly recovers as he flies to the moon to retrieve the long lost Sentinel Prime. They bring back Sentinel and revive him with the Matrix of Leadership (yeah, I thought Optimus blew it to dust in ROTF too) while Sam rejoins the Autobots very upset that his prior involvement with them seems not to matter to the new Director of NEST, Mearing. The story skips along as they learn of the Pillars, the space bridge and the Decepticons plan to activate it.
Sam figures out that the Cons are after Sentinel as he's the only one that can use the pillars to create the bridge and quickly enlists the Autobots help to protect him. They form a defensive around the former Autobot leader as "dread" Decepticons attempt to attack him. Ironhide promptly hands them their robotic butts and is quickly repaid by Sentinel with a blast to the face and chest, killing him and turning him to rust. Sentinel has betrayed the Autobots, not just now though, he did it when he left with Ark in the first place. You see, he meant to come to earth, he planned to enslave the human population into rebuilding Cybertron, somehow, and use the space bridge to literally bring Cybertron to earth.
Many main characters, such as Starscream, Megatron and Soundwave seem no more than sidenotes in the movie, til their end of course (Yes, they all die. Every single Decepticon dies) and aside from Sentinel admitting that space bridge technology defies human thought, the scene where Cybertron is coming through the space bridge is even too much for your die hard Trekky to accept.
The story skips and bounds and expects you to fill in the blanks alot, but the action is more than worth the price of admission. There is a ton, and I mean a ton of human fighting in this last film. Humans do not stand helplessly idle as Lennox and his crew reunite with a retired Epps and his crew to help end the space bridge threat.
Optimus Prime proves, yet again, why he is the bravest and most honorable of the Autobots with heroic fighting, taking out Decepticon after Decepticon after Decepticon. Starscream and Shockwave both die at the hands of humans (these parts will probably make you upset) and OP puts an end to Megatron and Sentinel with no remorse whatsoever. Some Autobots meet their demise, but you never really know them anyway so its not hard to take. There are some very emotional scenes and desperation will grab you as the Decepticons start killing humans in my beloved downtown Chicago.
This film is the answer, yet leaves you with many questions about the Transformers movieverse.
Overall I give Transformers: Dark of the Moon 2 and 3/4 stars for some serious action, a bunch of characters and an overall exciting end to the trilogy. As my boy told me before the film released, don't expect to see the answers to everything in this film, cause in the cartoons, each episode really has nothing to do with the next, yet they are all together. DOTM should have been Revenge of the Fallen and its definitely a must see for any Transformers fan.
Special thanks to Jose Cruz and Jose Jara of LatinoScoop.com for making this review possible.
Til all are one.

-The ending is different to the adaptions. Optimus is a mega dick. Megatron offers him a truce and Optimus responds by PULLING HIS HEAD OFF!
Megatron says something to the affect of “what would you be without me” to which Optimus replies “Let's find out.” and he proceeds to kill Megatron.
and Shockwave both die at the hands of humans (these parts will probably make you upset)

That's why I hate writing reviews. My goal is not to discourage you guys from going to see a Transformers film or from buying a Transformers toy. I'm just not one of those people that likes to do that. My goal is not to financially hurt any one or any company by trying to prevent any one from going. I just wanted to tell you what I thought, the problems that I thought the movie had and possibly what I thought could've been done to improve it. I'm also a highly skeptical fan that seems to think that there is always room for improvement. Not sure if it's age, or experience, or my desire to have someone ask me, just once, what I think of what direction they're taking something in before they complete it. I'd like to think that I actually know what I'm talking about since I own Seibertron.com, which I've run for 11 years, collected for 27 years, and am one of the few people you guys know who works on Transformers (albeit unofficially) for a living.
End of rant.

I myself had just came back from watching the movie & by the looks of its there are gaps & holes that are left unanswered especially if you tried to link the storyline with ROTF i.e what happened to the twins & Arcee? last known facts is that they survived up to the ending of the 2nd movie..also too much info was been crammed to make the 3rd storyline works...I appreciate M.B efforts to make the 3rd installment of the Transformers movie franchise the best one out of the 3 but it only attain 5 out of 10 to what I feel,I dont know Seiberton would agree with me on this part..all to be said about the movie has been mentioned by him..
What really pisses me off & even made my 3 small sons cried in the cinema is that M.B never did justice on how Ironhide died..man oh man he was totally robo-slaughtered by Sentinel without having the chance to fight back!!!! Even the G1 anime did justice for Ironhide....at least you could see him firing laser shots at the Decepticons before being taken out..This time round in the movie verse he got totally smoldered without a trace!!!! God damn it M.B,I guess u really manage to make the whole Transformers fandom mad yet again like what u did in the characterization of the first movie...
The ending part...ol' Meg got owned as per expected but Sentinel's demise...well at least M.B could have made it more epic like Opt's beheading Sentinel & crushing the spark right out of him rather than blowing Sentinel's head off with a laser shot gun or whatever u might call it after giving some retribunal speech lines.
'Nuff said...got it all out of my chest fhuhhh..Good movie for sound effects,CGI & whatever movie magic that M.B could conjure,I could see that he did put in effort this time round to make happen but it still is disappointing in a certain aspect...
P.M to M.B (at least if he is reading this & decides to do a 4th installment...for the love of GOD..PLS CONSULT THE TRANSFORMERS FANDOM AROUND THE WORLD TO GET BEST IDEAS OR AT LEAST TO PICK UP GD POINTERS TO MAKE THE MOVIE WORK THAN TOTALLY GOING OFF BOARD..YOU WON'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY US M.B,WE'D DO IT FOR FREE AS LONG AS THE MOVIE IN SOME WAYS COINCIDE & CO-EXISTED WITH THE MULTITUDE OF TRANSFORMERS MULTIVERSE IN A MORE APPROPRIATE & LOGICAL ASPECT.![]()

Autobot032 wrote:Hey, Seibs? I have a question.
My Dad and I are going to the film tomorrow during a matinee, and I noticed you mentioned the vaporization of humans and it being graphic.
I need to know, is it excessively bloody or gory? Is there any gore in the film, or it a flash of light and you see a skull roll across the floor?
The reason I ask is, neither of us is great with gore, though most doesn't bother me unless it's really over the top, but my Dad has been through a lot, and he's incredibly squeamish.
Is this something that'll make him faint? (he's not good with the sight of blood much past like a stain on a shirt, and definitely not on the big screen.)
Or is it watchable without worry? I tried searching the thread, and I ain't readin' through 13 pages lol....
Thank you in advance.

No it's not bloody or gory. It's very "poof" human exploded into dust with no blood or guts. Might make you roll your eyes, but it shouldn't be that bad. I'm not a fan of gore either so I'd tell you if it was gory or something inappropriate.
