They're cornball, but nowhere as bad as some of the TF episodes I've seen, and that's no joke.
None of that crappy PSA melodrama crap either.

But for a mag that used to rip on gobots like no other, it's cool people are starting to actually take a look at it, rather than hating on it because everyone else does... very ignorantly. Much like the wheelie hate, though that might be deserved.

I have to agree that incorporating Go-Bots into the Transformers Series as they once were represented in their original cartoon is looking like a perfectly wonderful idea. I only hope that Hasbro is up to the task and willing to go that extra mile and put the fun and interesting back into the Transformers brand, instead of pumping out the same stuff over and over again.
To me, G-1 was a great toyline it started the franchise.
Beast wars went on to create a new and wonderful world of adventure for new fans, myself included in that era.
RID went along a different avenue and had some really great toys, and some not o great simple reissues.
Armada had the truck back in style, and roadbots versus tanks and what have ya. they brought out Unicron and rehashed some G-1 material
Energon, was pretty much the same thing but with an empasis on gestalts, they did their best to create some cool gestalts.
Cybertron was a summation of all that came before, beast, robot and Primus.
Gobots would add another dynamic, especially the toy idea gimmicks first introduced back in the 80s. I would love to see a combiner power armor that can fit several deluxe sized bots and then it becoems a gestalt. I would also like to see the humans being more then just bystanders with no protective gear around massive bots fighting each other.

Here's what I have left of my gobots. I had less but my comic store got in dive-dive, spoons, and a few others (my favorites when I had them) so I picked them up. Got them for like a dollar each.

EDIT: We should have a Gobot section of the site.
