Yeah and I'm not even the only guy they did that to on this board! It happened to Mura at the same time. I had to take it back to my local store. I've still never even seen one in the area despite traveling upwards of 60 miles a day with helping my friend with her job as a vendor. Seriously, at this point he may end up on my Christmas list and I'm almost thirty!

Hmmm. Well, that's why I go hunting for my figures.
It's much more fun, and I won't end up with surprises like that.

I'm a fan of the acronym "ROTF = Repaint Obsolete TransFormers" myself...

Anyway, for someone like me who hasn't bought but two little scouts from the ROTF line and nothing else, it's amazing how much other stuff is out there that you tend to ignore when you're in the middle of collecting a toy line that's currently available at retail. I'm currently fleshing out my G1 collection with the headmasters and powermasters that I've never gotten while I bide my time until the new Animated stuff comes out, then it's back to the stores. That's not even mentioning 3rd party stuff like the G3 trailer, which should be arriving for me any day.

What's left to buy? There's always something...

How come you don't just buy him online?

I takes ages for new releases to reach England. Jetfire has been delayed by a month. There aren't that many ROTF figures I want but it'll be months before I get them.

I prefer to find my figures in a store, the whole "thrill of the hunt thing." After it was supposed to have been in stores for over a month, I did order it online. Target.com screwed me (and others) over and sent out Optimus Primes instead. Rather than offer to replace it with what I actually ordered, they only offered returns.

I order things online all the time but only things I can not get in person such as online exclusives and imports. If it's something I should be able to readily find down the street, I'm less inclined to pay cost plus shipping. Hell, it took an online sale and a free shipping code to get me to order Jetfire in the first place!
