I wouldn't assume new versions of any of those guys. Yes, we had Kingdom Magnus, but he was just a retool of the Siege figure and came up short in a few respects. Cyclonus and Galvatron were released alongside Scourge and the Sweeps, and unlike Magnus, were new molds consistent with SS86 design principles. We even got the damage-free Galvatron repaint in Legacy. Prime is obvious, Prowl is plausible, and I expect Springer too. Beyond that, I don't think any of the recent figures are slam dunks for updates.

You guys forgot SS86 Arcee and Ironhide.

I was ignored on this but I would still like a SS86 LEADER Megatron. The bot mode would be perfectly clean like his R.E.D figure, hiding all the tank threads and whatnots inside.

As for a SS86 Optimus, they should just "steal back" the undersised KO MP-10 and sell this as a Commander.

Yes, that's where I stand as well in my line of thinking. Unlike many characters released in Earthrise, Magnus felt the most like a placeholder due to the inaccurate trailer.

I can see Magnus being a commander if the base bot is as complex as Earthrise Optimus Prime.

I personally don't even consider that earthrise toy an improvement over the combiner wars version.

Also, of all the MP toys, Magnus needs an update the most. Just a coincidence.

I tried to respond a while ago and there was some error…

Kingdom Ultra Magnus was lacking in ways that other figures have not.
Of course partly because his design is much more complex.
Point being, that version may have been decent. Maybe even good.
But objectively speaking (I don’t have any real love for this character),
I don’t think this (Kingdom version) was/is a difinitive version.
Imo most people that would claim “He’s good enough” say that because relatively speaking they don’t that much.
I don’t have the Seige or Kindgom figure…
But I’ve seen enough to know the bot mode could be better, and the ER trailer was lacking both in appearance and functionality.

I’ve already mentioned the few I think could stand new molds.
But the vast majority of what osupreme listed are plenty good as they are.

Back to UM, I’m predicting that it incorporates a gimmick where he has been “blown up”, kind of combining the gimmick of SS86 Kup, & the Legacy Junkions.
This may even play into engineering for transformation.

Kanrabat & I totally agree about a SS86 Megatron—
Make the bot mode totally screen accurate, with the alt mode still being a tank.
Collectors & fans would understand, all other consumers wouldn’t know any different and/or wouldn’t care.
In fact, I wouldn’t really care what the alt mode would be… It wouldn’t matter… Make him a weird spaceship to match Legacy Soundwave…. Who cares.
But it’s time.
It’s actually past time. The ER versions’s head and face sculpt were just a piss poor attempt. That really looked like a KO…
The 35th Anniversary figure is the best version imo.
We’re talking the leader of the Decepticons here…

An SS86 Magnus will never EVER have the inner white "Prime". Because that character never appeared in the movie nor the cartoon.

So, I predict a SS86 UM to be like a downsized version of the MP sold at the Commander price point. That MP is relatively simple and look "Generations" enough.

I'd love for the new Magnus to have a mini Prime. I have fond memories of that mini Prime and enjoyed the renaissance Dreamwave brought to that deco back in the day.

But I'd be surprised if they did that. He never did have that on the show while Roddy did have some moments where he backed into his "trailer". I can see them needing to really engineer the guy to make his trailer have all the necessary parts without partsforming while ALSO being big enough to fit deluxe cars (CW Magnus couldn't do that). Add in a Matrix accessory too.

It would also allow Kingdom to have it's own niche. It's G1 with the white Prime.

Not expecting new versions necessarily. Maybe just re-packs in SS-86 boxes, with maybe slight tweak, much like Starscream.

Also. i have to agree with Emerje. No way. Commander class Magnus is made without a inner white Prime. Not just because of the budget that is super unnecessary to do that, but because they get a second figure, at the same price point, for no additional development cost, out of it.

Making an inner white Prime Magnus gives them a Prime to release later for close to no extra development cost. It just makes too much financial sense.

Even Siege / Earthrise Magnus got a Prime pretool, with Cybertron.

Don't forget, White Prime is cartoon cannon post-movie.

Agreed… Which is why I never bought it. If he would’ve gone on sale for even $40 I probably would’ve caved, but it never happened.

His most recent release wasn’t even that good.
This is clearly a case jist like CW Menasor;
Hastak has realized that ER Magnus missed the mark so badly that they want to give it another shot, & make sure it’s a solid, legit release.

Earthrise Magnus was compromised by being adapted from the Siege version, which made interesting choices in taking from two different two incarnations. As for comparing to CW, whether it's an improvement or not is a matter of taste, but it's very different. The CW figure is a modern update of the alt mode and has an IDW bot, while ER is heftier and more old-school G1. It's a perfectly respectable Leader class toy, though there are obvious improvements that Commander can bring, like a much bigger transport trailer that can actually fit vehicles.

Also, just pointing out the quality of the CW torso can't hold a candle to the Legacy version. Well, the 100$CAN difference with the base price makes it an unfair competition, but still.

I would agree the ER version looked more G1.
Just still not sure it was an improvement past that.
UM is one of those characters where getting the alt mode wrong really does matter, simply because it’s supposed to have legit functionality.
And I’m pretty sure a Commander class version will allow this to happen, and be done pretty well.
Again, for the most part, I think Hastak is doing a bang-up job with these recent figures from the last few years. Sure, I can nit-pick with the best of ‘em.
But I call it like I see it, and of course there are aspects of figures that miss the mark in the mainline.
Yet I can’t deny that overall Hastak has done a lot right, and a lot pretty damn well.
I won’t try to list off all the examples I can think of since this is the SS86 thread.
But this subline alone has brought me a lot of collector happiness.

Just because we never saw Magnus' inner robot mode on the show doesn't mean he didn't have one. He clearly had a white cab in alt mode.

I don’t really care either way, because I think Hastak will ultimately make it a solid figure.
As long as the bot mode looks great and the trailer looks good and has good functionality, I’ll buy it.
I do wonder if Hastak will view a complete inner figure as an important play feature…
But in some ways, a complete inner figure may cause more unwanted compromises to the robot design, and possibly the trailer as well.

The only things that have made any use of the inner cab robot for Ultra Magnus in the cartoon universe were a few Japanese-only things, like Binaltech and the profile for the first Masterpiece Ultra Magnus toy.
