IIRC, there was some explanation given about that when the figure was first shown off in one of the Hasbro livestreams.Emerje wrote:RodimusPrimeUkraine1 wrote:Rumble´s alt mode could be better, so I wonder how it looks from the other side. Starting to reconsider my positive opinion on the little twice the price minion. At least he might have a waist swivel and comes with the piledrivers.
My issue with his alt mode is that they put the reels in the wrong spot for no good reason. It's a nitpicky thing, but they're too high sculpted around his shoulder joint pins, they should be sculpted around his 5mm hex ports.

It's not a Masterpiece. It's an 11 dollar figure. In my view, the expectation that they would move is unrealistic.

Maybe it does. There's nothing that...functional on Spike or Wheelie, which is what I'm basing my opinion on.
What I think is realistic in terms of what they're going to do and what I would like are two different things.

I wanna say Spike has wheels, I don't think Wheelie does though. Wheelless Wheelie lol
Yeah no sh**, I'm not arguing with your point that moving piledrivers was likely out of budget for a core class. I'm also not outraged or knocking on the brand or anything. Im pretty sure I'm allowed to be a little bummed about a gimmick I was hopeful the toy would have without having to read some snarky comment about masterpiece and some corny one-liner you were waiting for an excuse to use. Thanks for the lecture though professor perceptor

Something we finally both agree on. But is it just me or was the Rumble perfect at first, but gets worse the more I look at it?

I think he looks great, love the way the figure looks. Some elbow joints would've been nice but the rest is pretty nice. I'd hoped since he's smaller than other core class figures there'd be opportunity for moving piledrivers but im getting the figure either way. I hope they do Ravage as well, the siege/netflix version is pretty bad. Especially compared to the core class bumblebee movie Ravage, though that figure is much larger

the ravage mold might work retooled into steeljaw

Keeping things in perspective, Halo and Fortnite figures aren't transforming robots. That's always made Transformers pricier for their size and what they come with. Although I do think in hindsight, Hasbro have been trying to squeeze a bit too much growth out of the brand with the price bumps over the past couple years. Especially after seeing what's happened to their sales.Till-all-R1 wrote:keeping things in perspective the figure is $11.99 which is closer to $12 for a figure that's only 2.5", while both Halo and Fortnite figures are 4" at $13 an doffer quite a bit more for the price. So if these were still $8 then maybe I'd forgive non working piledrivers but at $12 I'd expect a little more.
Yes and no. Given that the piston head is a separate piece from the sleeve as it is, they could indeed have molded the piledrivers such that the sleeve end had an unblocked hole that the peg for the piston head could freely slide back and forth through. But idk how satisfying that would have been (even if they did the pegs like the posts on tab-in wheels, just longer), and much more than that would require making the sleeves be two pieces each. I suppose you could mold the sleeve with an open notch and add a less-costly extra piece in the form of the peg itself being separate and sort of L-shaped (so that it could stick out through the notches and used to slide the head up and down), but that would likely still be pushing it. Fully-enclosed spring-powered piledrivers were never remotely in reach.Till-all-R1 wrote:Plus it doesn't actually cost that much for it to make a sliding cylinder.
...Can you please explain why it is you considered Rumble - a Core-class figure - having working piledrivers more likely than Perceptor - a Deluxe-class figure - having a working scope? Especially since Titans Return Perce had one?Till-all-R1 wrote:That said, it's not like we should have expected it considering Perceptor's telescope doesn't either.
The thing is I can live with that because it was never going to be a working telescope in the first place, yet for Rumble it could have very simple to offer.
What is the "Cosmos debacle"? Only debacle I'm aware of with him is just Mall Wart grossly underestimating demand.Till-all-R1 wrote:So this is a bit of sad news for me and after the Cosmos debacle makes me not want to even bother getting it.
Maybe because most people would rather have static piledrivers than have to buy a larger, higher-priced set to get him? I know that's how I feel. They'd be nice and no mistake, but not nice enough to be worth having to buy a larger set to get hold of him.Till-all-R1 wrote:And if costs were an issue why not wait on Rumble and just include him with working piledrivers in a higher priced set later on.

You know hasbro is stingy these days. What you want requires more parts and thus a bigger budget than what is given to the team for this one. So sure, MP budget could give it to you.

It definitely could, but so could the figure being part of a larger multipack or being bumped up to deluxe class, or being released in gen selects at a slightly higher price point. Jumping straight to masterpiece was being purposely condescending. I'm not some angry karen asking for the moon and the stars at a core class price point, I was a little bummed that the piledrivers don't move. I'm still happy with the figure as is, love that he has his guns, the drivers, the guns can be on the back or arms, the headsculpt and paintjob looks great, etc

I’m with you that it’s disappointing that the piledrivers don’t have moving parts.
It doesn’t matter whatever variables people want to try and throw out there, or if this should’ve been expected.
It’s still disappointing.
