Keeping even more perspective action figures are more articulated today and can pretty much form into a ball, so the transforming aspect you're speaking of doesn't hold that much weight in terms of Rumble who's a much more limited in transformation. I'd say they're about even in this regard. now comparing an action figure and the $24 bots would be totally different. Not a travesty by any means just a bummer is all.

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:What is the "Cosmos debacle"? Only debacle I'm aware of with him is just Mall Wart grossly underestimating demand.

Exactamundo. It's a debacle to me since he was the only update I was interested in of the minis, and based on past releases if you don't get it early you're pretty much sol. Unless I want to pay double to triple for it him on ebay, so it took some wind out of my sails and lowered my excitement level for pretty much anything else which is why I'm only a tad bummed about Rumble.

That sounds beautiful!

As for the pile drivers, I didn't think they would move, based on the pics. Not getting him though, I'm quite tired of updating figures.

I'm also not bothered over getting new cassettes. I'll only really get ones that don't have new updates yet

Me, I might get SS86 Rumble. I didn't give a rat's arse about the SIEGE Micromaster versions of Frenzy and Rumble because I hated the size vs. how the G1 mold scales. SS86 may only be a head taller, so still not as tall as I'd fully like, but he's still a massive improvement on SIEGE overall and comes fully kitted as-is.

Totally agree…
In fact I thought the Seige versions were horrible… Pretty much laughable.
I’d wait until I can get Rumble on at least some sort of sale, but no doubt, I’m interested.

I was thinking about the Haslab Unicron today as well as all the neat 3rd party ones that are out these days, tho seeing as they're at least $300 I had a wild thought:
How would you guys feel about Unicron getting a Leader class SS86 figure? Scale would obviously be out the window, but for me that would be fine, the novelty would lay in just having a scary space demon that turns into a spiky ball for $50/55 bucks. That'd be pretty sick

Having a leader Unicron that would be around "voyager" tall but with the parts count to be able to pull off the looks in both modes, plus a "flight stand" for the planet mode?

Despite having the Armada mold twice, I'd say SHUT UP AND GET MY MONEY! ;)^

This BW Unicron could also be swell. But Leader can't cut it with all these extra bits so a Commander could do the job.

If you shrink it down to a deluxe you'll be able to pull it off :-D

While hasbro is too fixated on scale to do it in a line like SS, I could see them doing it as a sub-line or retailer Exclusive. Picture this: a line where scale doesn't matter, meaning we have smaller representations of all the titans like Metroplex, Trypticon, Fortress and Scorponok (and all repaints etc, etc...). For extra padding you an include titans from IDW and Iaconus from Cyberverse. The leader class slots of such a line? Primus and Unicron.

The bonus of doing Fortress and Scorponok would be so collectors have a smaller figure to stand in for their comic versions.

I'd be down for deluxe sized titans. Especially because the overall engineering is so simple. F it, why not CORE CLASS titans? They could certainly work. Having miniature Metroplex and Trypticon battling it out on the desk would be adorable.

I'm holding out hope for a titan class Primus someday. I have too many Armada Unicron variations to want another smaller Unicron.

I'd probably get one if it came out, though. I'm a sucker that way.

Ironhide finally came in from EB Games a few days ago. He's pretty much all I want from an Ironhide toy, except for matching reds. But I can overlook that. I can't believe so much of this guy is painted grey. The paint inside his hands rubbed off the minute I unpegged his guns. Oh, well. Bring on Ratchet, then I'm done with these characters.

Core class Titans should be around 10" tall. ;)

I would love figures of Scorponok and Fort Max around the size of SS86 Grimlock. I've mentioned before and I've seen others repeat, they really should take the upcoming Armada Megatron and retool it into IDW Fort Max. I doubt they'd ever actually make a new mold version so why not work him into someone else's mold (like Minerva, but good)?

Since I missed on on the HasLab version I'd be keen on a Commander or even Titan version, at least then it would be worth the new $200 price for a Titan class. I had zero interest in that Metroplex.

I think Leader and maybe even Commander class is too small for him, though I guess anything other than HasLab version is. lol

If scale isn't a concern than unicron can be made to work in a smaller scale. I certainly don't think they'll be doing a Titan class Unicron for a while yet.

Well, they could always reissue the "Amazon" Armada Unicron and call it a day. Add the equivalent of the Throne of Chaos (3P planet mode stand) in the box to have a "Titan".

That mold is extremely degraded from so many uses. The Encore release barely even holds together.

No I wasn't collecting transformer back then, hadn't really bought any since G1 days and a couple BW figs. Haven't really been into any of the animation since as I just didn't care for the styles.

I didn't really get back into them until I started seeing how well they were being done in Earthrise line. To me none of them look as good as the HasLab version so if they could shrink that in half I'd go for it otherwise I'd likely sit it out if they reissued one of the past bots. just my personal preference.
