Great, so then now numbered MPs can now be exclusive. Hasbro will probably offer it regardless, but it's still annoying.

If you were hoping for God Bomber to be announced soon in the MPG line to accompany God Ginrai, well, the wait continues. Takara Tomy is really front loading 2025 with a heavy amount of repaints in the MPG line by adding a mass retail MPG-12 Shattered Glass Optimus Prime and Takara Tomy Mall exclusive MPG-13 Shattered Glass Jetfire. What's particularly interesting about MPG-13 is Takara Tomy bucking their own trend of not using in-line numbers for exclusives where they previously added letters and whatnot to indicate them. Perhaps we're finally done with the messy numbering system that gave us numbering gems like MP-52+SW Skywarp and MP-53+B Dia Burnout.

As for the figure themselves, they're basically what you'd expect. MPG-12 is a purple Optimus Prime based on the MP-44S toy colors package, just swapping out the normal alternate head with the battle damaged head that came with the original MP-44 3.0 figure. MPG-13 Jetfire appears to be a straight repaint of MP-57 Jetfire, but lacks the flight stand, mini figures and face mask of the original release.

MPG-12 has a suggested price of 33,000 JPY (but will be available much cheaper in most places) and will be out in March 2025. MPG-13 is priced at 39,600 JPY, and as an exclusive that price will not change, and is ALSO being released in March 2025. However, both will likely be available on Hasbro Pulse in the coming days. Keep in mind this is one month after MPG-10 Lift Ticket and MPG-11 Guard are released in February. I guess the evil Autobots of Shattered Glass are just as happy to slay our wallets as they are Decepticons!

I don't think the Shattered Glass color schemes work as well for low detail designs like the G1 stuff. Makes them look too smooth, like early 90's CG.

Seeing how many variants they're announcing, I suppose there's finally a strong possibility I'll get my beloved G1 Barricade in the Masterpiece line.

I already have the mold with Nemesis Prime so I don't need the grape flavor. Still, it's nice to see the SG repaints finally make their way into the MP line. That is, more than a Optimus I mean.

One thing is almost for sure; with all these repaints we'll probably see Ginrai in both black and orange.

Masterpiece Gattai? More like Masterpiece Gaiden now.

Speaking of gaiden, Takara Tomy's first Brave figure in however many years, Toyrise King Exkaiser, is also up for preorder. Going to grab one of Amazon Japan, he's surprisingly reasonably priced.

After seeing the reviews of the normal MP Skyfire, I too, find the Commander to be just as good if not better than the MP. Especially for the price difference.

And if the leaks are true, it may be the same for the upcoming SS86 Commander Optimus VS MP-44.

Huh, interesting. I didn't go in on any of the 44 versions. MP10 and the like have satisfied the MP side of things for me with OP but saying that, the SG44 does look good. I will likely still go in on the 86 version as i am trying to complete the SS86 run, redundant to my collection or otherwise because i will be keeping them MISB; smaller scale dupes not withstanding.

The 2024 Tokyo Toy Show has begun and last night, Takara Tomy revealed MPG-14 God Bomber as a forthcoming release in their Masterpiece G series. Unsurprisingly, this figure can combine with MPG-09 Super Ginrai to create God Ginrai like the original G1 toys of the characters, as they did in Super God Masterforce. God Bomber is slated for a release in June 2025, with pricing not yet announced.

Oh no. When they announced Super Ginrai, I was able to resist because I have recently bought a few other expensive pieces. But I knew that if they announced a matching God Bomber, there would be trouble.

At least they announced it soon enough for Super Ginrai to not be unobtainable...
