Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

What have I told you about self-censoring? Let the forum software do it ... unless you're deliberately trying to circumvent it?

Have you seen some of the words they've been adding to the dictionary? I'm fairly certain "toygasm" will end up in there soon enough.

Third. I'd go with a more local site but they require payment up front and I just don't have the cash at the moment (**** car!), HLJ will give me time to save up. Yays!

Anybody else notice the tiny trigger? I wonder if that's for US safety laws. I'm not gonna lie, if they were going to parts form they should've stuck with a removable barrel.
Hi Chuck, it looks like the stock may actually be what forms the inner part of the lower legs that makes them thicker. Brilliant design!
This MP is PHENOMENAL! I haven't been this excited for a new Transformer in a LONG time.
That makes sense since the stock in hollow in the back. That really is ingenious.
You guys are so damn smart, this is really ingenius. I was hoping the barrel would also be removable, how are we sure it isn't and simply attached to the back?
Of course, at this point, we aren't sure. But looking at the photos, it looks like there is a bracket that connects from his back, through his folded arms and to the bottom of the barrel in gun mode.
This is kind of how I imagine it possibly working.

I just mean that he looks super close to the cartoon model from many many angles, but not the back.

Any reason none of you preffer hlj over amiami? its a tad bit cheaper there.
I think he was trying to ask why all of you prefer HLJ over Ami Ami.wilcosu35 wrote:william-james88 wrote:Burn wrote:Robogeek1973 wrote:wilcosu35 wrote:He looks fantastic. Time to start hounding HLJ again

None? We all prefer HLJ
As for me, i like their prices for stuff. it's lot cheaper than getting them from the US or somewhere here in europe.
And i've been buying from them for about 10 years now, no complaints ever.

william-james88 wrote:Agamemnon wrote:william-james88 wrote:WOW, this is litetrally everything we wanted when we saw the prototype. The backpack is optional and can be configured differently. I dont midn the partformig one bit, since this is basically the G1 toy done as right as possible. Oh man, this is phenominal. The scale is great and most of all the price is geat. 175$ US BBTS? No thanks, as I predicted, you can get this guy for as low as 100$ plus shipping.
Well, to be fair, BBTS just lowered the price of Shockwave to $159.99. (Hot Rod went down too...)
In that case then I take it back. Though the fact that they still but him 5$ above quakewave when his full MSRP is supposed to be 140$ (that's 16800 YEN without any discount and this is not an exclusive) is still a bit sketchy.
Look at it this way, MP Soundblaster (MP 13B) is just a tad bit more than Shockwave's MSRP at 17064 YEN which is 142$ US. BUT US online sites such as BBTS sold him for 130$ US (here is proof). That should be close to how much Shockwave costs on BBTS but it isnt. Instead they are charging an extra 30$ premium.
We know that Shockwave is not an exclusive and we have an idea of the usual margins and prices on nonexclusive MP toys sold at online US store (a bit lower than MSRP), but in this case Shockwave is over the MSRP. Thus BBTS and any site selling this toy for more than 140$ US is charging you more than they should and giving you a bigger premium on these non exclusive toys than ever before. By lowering the price, you may deem them fair but they are still charging you more than the established MSRP they are recomended to sell to you (that is beside the fact that at Japan retail he will sell for 20-30% off of that MSRP).
You guys can do as you wish but if we are talking about being fair, that price is objectively still not fair to the consumer based on the market.

Agamemnon wrote:What about the light-up features? Also, Soundwave might be cheaper because BBTS still has stock and is looking to sell it. Not sure. I'm not trying to derail the thread, but I think sometimes online retailers get bashed a little too much. (Not saying you are here. I understand where you are coming from, but in all the years I've been shopping at BBTS, I do not find them to be gouging me at all. They are a business and have to make money and deal with market forces in their pricing.)
As far as Shockwave, indeed, I am much happier about the new lower price as it makes my decision to forgo Quakewave for the official release that much easier!

Pretty close with the Stand clipped on, though?

Personally, one of my biggest pet peeves, is having a stand in one mode, just for display purposes, and then in the other mode, it's used as a weapon or something other than a stand. (*cough cough* MP Starsaber *cough cough*)

Why are you peeved? At least you don't get those useless extra clutter that eventually gets lost. In Starsaber's case, he DID use the shield/stand accessory in one of the last episodes of the series.
Star Saber's shield was an invention of the cartoon. It didn't exist on the original toy, or even exist within the show itself until its out-of-the-blue one-off use in the single episode it appeared in. For all intents and purposes, the shield was never a part of him in vehicle mode, so the MP (which strive for maximum accuracy and faithfulness) retained that aspect to the fullest, while at very least having the courtesy to do something with it in vehicle mode that kept it from just being an extra piece to set aside for non-use. The MP toy didn't need to come with the shield, so it's pretty cool that it did, and even cooler that it got put to good use in the mode that it isn't suppose to integrate with.SillySpringer wrote:My point is, did he have it as a stand in vehicle mode? It's one thing to have a transparent flight stand, that can be used in both modes (MP Tracks), but it's another thing when the only thing you use the shield for in vehicle mode is a flight stand. I would much rather the shield actually integrate into the vehicle mode in a way that makes sense in fiction, than it just be a flight stand. How many times do you see Starsaber in the show, transform into vehicle mode, and his shield becomes a flight stand, so he can pretend he's flying like his daddy? In case you didn't notice, I am all about realism. I am okay about g1 Megatron and Soundwave, cuz that's the eighties. When you are talking about a 21st century Transformer figure, that has a gimmick that could in no way whatsoever be replicated in a show and still make sense, it annoys me.
