I keep looking at the images, and reporting the news, and reading comments.. and I realise that is, for the foreseeable future, out of my budget. :-(

I haven't put down a deposit, and I'm currently saving for another, more expensive purchase, which strikes closer to home too, so won't be able to put money together in time for March/April. I suppose I might try hunting one down at Auto Assembly, if I still like it as much as I do right now.

Sigh.

Never really noticed this because I chalked it down to mass shifting but Tomy actually included two sword hilts for Saber and his supermode. Very nice!

What's ugly about this? The fact that you can't afford to get one? Okay, that's uncalled for but if you don't like the design, unless you actually have held the final product, all your talk is a bunch of hot wind.

There are other TF figs I don't like that are featured here, I refrained from posting unless I liked it but was disappointed at the implementation or final product. What you are doing is just flaming/trolling!

Who knows, once we have him in hand, some design flaws may show up....no product is perfect. But you opine about it constructively.

If MP-10 was designed with such details and craftmanship, I would have picked it up. Looking at MP Star Saber makes me wonder why anybody would pass up on this toy. Aside from portraying the best Autobot leader in G1, this toy defines (or redefines) the idea of the Masterpiece line and brings it to a whole new high standard.

An enthusiastic open minded opinion if I do say so myself. Starsaber may not be the best thing since sliced bread but from initial impressions........its close no? What's missing is a small Jean figure or Illumina mech and this combo would be perfect. (And add Victory Leo later)

Agreed, the poster is a troll. Even if I don't prefer old cartoon style looks on robots (loved Fall of Cybertron designs), there is no way I would call this toy ugly.

Starsaber is intricately designed with so many details and fun gimmicks. From others' comments it seems to be very show accurate and kibble free as well. There are almost no downsides to this toy from what we can see so far. So if anyone is going to call this ugly, they better back it up with solid arguments or be dismissed as a childish troll.

I understand that Star Saber is something that either people are fans of or people just don't care for it.

Frankly, I've watched Victory and I didn't love it. I don't love the Star Saber character. I like the concept but I just am not into the archetype that the character portrays.

However, MP Star Saber looks like it will be the most fun MP toy to date. I normally view MP toys as attempts at the ideal toy representation of a character. More often than not, I don't play around with MP toys. I transform them once in a while and they strictly are display pieces. MP Star Saber may change this routine for me. The features of the toy seem to all be geared towards a "fun factor" that makes me smile. I'm looking forward to this MP release!

Agreed. Also, with his generally simple transformation, he also seems to have been built to handle all that extended playtime, as opposed to say, MP Rodimus, which felt like I was handling some transformable porcelain pottery, all the time.
