There couldn't be a truer statement. Is that carved on an ancient tome some where?

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

don't let that stop you from enjoying this figure though.

Wasn't that image with Truck Mode and Robot Mode Optimus of the First Edition, rather than the AoE Generations Leader? Two different molds you know?

that could be, i don't know. all the large AOE optimuses look similar to me.

High five, this mold can go to heck along with the FOC Prime mold.
You can't polish a turd.
So is this guy just a really shiny lump of poo squeezed from a Bay hole?
Have you handled him, or just don't like it from what you've seen?
Because I'm not a fan of most things movie related, but I would consider this one.

In a Target, I handled/fondled/caressed the box he was in, then I thought I was better off getting a box of cereal. But no, I never stroked this figure out of the box.

Yes, this photo is NOT the same mold as this Takara Optimus:
It is of the first edition Optimus which is a true Shell Former and it's entire truck is on the back:
The Takara Optimus mentioned above is not like this at all. It does have a backpack, but nothing compared to the first edition toy and thus it is not as much of a shell former.
Also, while I hate shellformers, I must admit that the Scourge shown above looks pretty cool actually (and that thunderblast makes me shudder).

i wasnt referring to this newest prime. the mold has its flaws, and even a phenomenal paintjob just wont save it for some people. what i was referring to, was evasion prime. its an amazing piece of toy that can be found almost everywhere for a decent price. if moneys no object, its silly not to grab one unless youre very anti bayformer.Siger wrote:Hey you are entitled to your opinion and likes and dislikes. I love my Jetwing Optimus Prime and since each subsequent movie prime was better than the last, I thought they would step up even more with the third movie. Boy was I wrong. I understand that they are marketing this to kids more with the new toys but they can't even give us one decent Prime for adult collectors. No, I don't consider this new Takara one good. It's just ok and I'm not missing out on anything.Cobotron wrote:There couldn't be a truer statement. This thread has got me messing with Evasion Mode more and more. He is really starting to grow on me. His arms are starting to bother me less. I think I've officially played with him more now than Classic he came with. The way he holds his gun is still silly and dainty. Is the gun real screen accurate or something? IS that why they didn't change it to work better in his hand?
Still wish they had followed through on the face plate.
shajaki, I wasn't trying to be too sarcastic. I'm a big fan of vague blanket statements that can be applied to all aspects of things. Check my Motto. Someone actually said that to me a long time ago, and it stuck. =D

Isn't his gun Megatron's shotty that he used to off Sentinel in part 2? I guess that's why it doesn't look quite right in his hands. I agree that evasion Prime mold looks decent. I also agree that his arms look small and thin compared to that massive chest of his. He also has a really dainty waist,
and it's really those proportions that keeps this mold from being great. Cobo, perhaps you may be interested in a third party add-on that will make those proportions more aesthetically pleasing?
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... prime.html
It takes care of the shoulder and waist problems and you can leave the jet-pack and shoulder cannons off. It looks pretty good... for $45...

At first I thought, super cool, but ain't nobody got time for that.
Now I'm thinking, S!@T, my wife is gonna kill me for going over robo budget this month.
God Ginrai is a perfect example of what I call - That old toy is so stupid I gotta have him.
and I do.
Siger, where did you find that?
Good lookin' out Bros.

Glad to have found another Ginrai lover! I was lucky to have found mine when I was first collecting, around late 2010. I got the first re-issue, loose but with instructions and sticker sheet for only 60$ plus shipping. I usually don't like G1 much, but I fell in love with God Ginrai. It's pure playability madness! Sure, the main Optimus is way inferior to the original, but that's not the point. He got a little guy. A base mode. A puzzle-former buddy. A LOOOOOOOOOONG truck/convoy mode. One super mode. One ULTIMATE mode. Ginrai is pure orgasm in plastic form!
You love your classics, don't you? Yeah, once you have Ginrai, open the box. Smell thay brand new smell... Raaaahhhhh.... Apply the stickers... Than transform and go PEW! PEW! PEW! like crazy!
Oooohhhh.... Talking about it made me feel all tingly... Need... To play... With Ginrai.... NAO!
Siger wrote:Er... yeah, good eye Karanbat, God Ginrai homage! Whooooo!!! Um... I didn't think I'd evoke this kind of reaction with that post.
