I wonder what's next in the Legends line after Springer.

I really do like the paints apps on this Springer. Almost tempted to pick this one up. The cartoon colors are fresh in my mind as I am on season 3 of the G1 show.

Swerve is my favorite mold that I own. He is the definition of fun! Yes, he could have more articulation, but if he did he would be on the level or up of 3rd party, and who knows what would happen then.

Movie leader Screamer is another good one, as is animated Rodimus. I think we have us another top 5 here Will!

We just might, lets see... Buster Optimus Prime, Leader Starscream, Animated Rodimus, MP Grimlock and MP Wheeljack. DONE! Will be up sometime next year.

But the proportions are accurate to the show model, so that works.

And Springer is not the best TF, there are some things that dont work with him like how the front of the car is still split into 3 obvious peices in car mode with no attempt to make them flush at the front. They also could have done a better job molding rotors in the back, like the G1 toy, and he doesnt click perfectly well together in car mode. Oh and for some reason, the helicopter mode isnt straight, you have to bend his legs at an angle to tab in the cockpit, which has an odd effect when looking at it from the side.

He also doesnt tab too well in car mode, with spaces here and there. Does the Legends version improve on the tabbing? I know Hasbro's Sandstorm did, so did Takara's Legends version tab better too?

But doesn't his car mode look like that in the comics? (genuine question, I couldn't find any pics on google)

As for the tabbing, I don't have a problem with it, he's solid as a rock for me, and he's cybertronian, he doesn't need tail rotors as he is obvious enough even without them.

Springer isn't really earth inspired and the split front makes for a more offroad/armored vehicle look. and yes the tabs are a bit fiddly, but they still work to me, and the joints are tight enough that they wont be moving easily.

His face is very very green. Looks even greener than it did in the first stock photos we saw. His face wasn't green in the show, but it was green on the toy, so I wonder why Takara decided to go this route.

Come to think of it, his thighs and fists are the same shade of green as the face, which is consistent with the first stock photos, but they appear to be greener here as well. It's a very strange move on Takara's part since, well, Springer's face, thighs, and fists were light gray in the show, not green.



The result makes the face blend in with the rest of the head, obscuring the finer details of the sculpt.

Not to mention, as shown by the above pics, Springer's body wasn't bright florescent green and jade forest green in the show. It was light and dark olive green. So what's Takara's inspiration for these colors?

I agree, I think it's a bad photograph. The colors haven't been captured correctly. As for the cartoon character model, Sabr, I would argue that Springer's face, hands, and thighs were rendered in a very light, pale green, not gray. The color masking for Legends Springer is pretty much correct, but the hues may be off (again, due to this particular piece of photography).

My issues with Springer are in car mode. Not everything tabs in flush. Do the knees have to do with it?

TFYuki via Twitter gives us a new look at the recently revealed Transformers Legends LG19 Springer. This release has a deco that is closer to the animation model than Takara's last Springer. Look at the image below and let us know in the Energon Pub if this deco is worth double dipping on Springer.

my only comment is that at least if someone hadnt already got this version of Springer they have another opportunity. otherwise, im not too impressed.
