Think the best update G1 Alpha Trion toy. Is that Botcon Alpha Trion repurposed Vector Prime toy.

Yeah...nope, I'll stick to Hasbro, the whole point of this was the charm of getting Minimus Ambus.

Wow, is it really that hard to figure out? Why release an accessory figure in a market where nobody knows what the figure is? The U.S. gets Minimus since that is where he will be more likely to be recognized (for those following the IDW comics at least) and Japan gets Alpha Trion. The internal packaging doesn't have to be altered, the only thing that needs changing is the box art. This is such a simple marketing move and yet you folks are wracking your brains over why this is being done. This isn't rocket science and theirs no great mystery or conspiracy here. Please don't make me drag out my crayons and simplify this any more than I already have for you folks.

Whatever happened to Dion? One theory suggests he was rebuilt into Ultra Magnus, again by Alpha Trion, but they're being particularly coy with confirming it.

Magnum is not Delta Magnus. And it is the Wings Universe, which is basically the G1 cartoon with a lot of subtle differences. Plus Delta Magnus appeared only in IDW comics, alongside its version of Orion Pax.

Magnum is not Delta Magnus. And it is the Wings Universe, which is basically the G1 cartoon with a lot of subtle differences. Plus Delta Magnus appeared only in IDW comics, alongside its version of Orion Pax.

Thanks Jelze!! Delta Magnus and his guard of autobots watched over the matrix between Prime candidates right? I would love a classics version of both those guys even though the seem to just be diaclone paint scheme rehashes(IDW DM anyways)

Except that Takara has gone with a color scheme true to the current IDW presentation of Ultra Magnus, so if they're using that source material for the look, why not include Minimus Ambus inside? Hasbro IS including Minimus, but using an altered color scheme that is more akin to the traditional "cartoon G1" layout for Ultra Magnus (thought decidedly not perfect). If Takara is hesitant to use source material they don't think their Japanese fans are familiar with, then why not do their usual routine and make the color scheme as G1 as possible, as is their usual want with these "Classics" releases? If they're not afraid to use Western source material, as evidenced by using the color scheme they chose for this figure, then why do it half way? It IS weird. You have to buy both the Hasbro and Takara version of this figure it you want a perfect IDW representation.

The way Takara always poses the Fusion Cannon looks good but also a little misleading; people who aren't familiar with this mold might not know about the tank barrel sticking out of the cannon.

I have this on pre-order, hope it's a good figure! I'm still a little hesitant about this toy (the deco is fine.)

I still don't see that big a difference between the two. The red paneling on the forearms, the two buttons on the chest... It's subtle. And to some people that really makes a difference. For me, not so much. I'm fine with the Hasbro version.
