Gosh. The more I see Leader Megs, the more I want it...

Not enough to buy the "Armada" version though. No one seems to be going for that one. I bet if they just replaced the silly Armada head with the G1 head, then the Armada deco would start selling.

More like it would have been re-purposed as the G2 Megatron (remember him?) Or BWII Megastrom if they followed that route.........which....Tomy might possible do given the investment on the mold.

I noticed right away. It matters to me, so it's really no one's place to say the differences are insignificant if I find them to be so.

I understand you 100000%. I'm usually the biggest stickler for accuracy. But for some reason THIS Megatron doesn't bother me. Maybe it's because he'll essentially be a stand alone figure for me, therefor doesn't need to conform to the my exact vision of accuracy.

Classics Megatron? I bought 3 times. Hasbro, Henkei, then United. THAT was a quest for perfection.

But now that I have seen the differences, and knowing that Legends Megatron is only going to be a couple dollars more than the Hasbro version (6000 Yen at HLJ = $50 USD), I don't get why people are coming down on folks who prefer the Takara version. It's not like I've come down on the Hasbro version too hard. Heck, I mentioned above that I bought the only one I ever saw in person, just because he's so damn awesome.

At the end of the day, I just don't want people criticizing my purchase due to "insignificant" or "minor" differences when it's my dollar to spend, and when the term "insignificant" is ultimately subjective.

Another thing....this is the Takara Tomy thread and talking trash against it. There's the CW leader thread for the praises on CW Megs (another awesome incarnation at that).

I'm getting this Megs too as CW barely seen/sold out quickly in the local TRU.

Well... OK... I did the same thing my Hasbro and Henkei Megatrons... I want them both back too

I think it's people trying to make themselves feel better for buying the Hasbro version, not admitting to themselves they prefer the Takara? Personally I'd flip a coin between the two if they were in front of me, and pre-ordering the Takara is actually cheaper than what I paid for the Hasbro one locally but because I did buy locally, I'll just stick with the Hasbro one. Reprolabels set is definitely on the cards though.

I never ended up with any of the Classics Megatron moulds, the wings/shell kind of turned me off even the United version, so until this guy had been released, my only Megatrons were the Gen ATB mould (Takara Generations version ftw here) or the WFC version.

Now I have a towering, dominating unstoppable force of silvery baddassery (with a touch of red for good measure) leading my Decepticon army. Still not 100% whether to make him at Autobot or not yet... see how he turns out in MTMTE a little more first.

See in that situation, I would easily go for Takara's. I actually like the extra bit of red on Hasbro's arms (OG toy accurate) but don't care for all the extra red on the torso.

This is why I love the fact that Takara and Hasbro are two seprste companies, with separate designers and separate markets (for the most part) that just happen to work together on this one brand, but have their own touch to each release. I can't think of any other brand that has the level of diversity get we get in this regards. There's usually something for everyone

If Takara hadn't already created the perfect show-accurate Ultra Magnus (MP-22) I'd totally get either of these.

Really cool that HasTak has mostly dropped the white-Convoy redecos in favour of "proper" Magnus figures.

That does look a lot better, but i am not getting this. I think my City Commander still fits in better with my CHUG's. The truckmode just doesn't tickle my fancy with that brutish evil cab.

I think I still prefer City Commander in my CHUGS, but I'm definitely getting one of these just to have. But ... I have to admit to feeling a bit torn over it. I prefer Takara's but dislike Alpha Trion; I much prefer Minimus.

I may go with Hasbro's because, although I want to own the mould I still like a different version overall.
