My previous top was magnus, but his but flap and lack of transforming cab are 2 negatives whereas so far the only thing i have a problem with is that his faces fly out of the packaging extremely easily. Also have a paint defect but not major. The fact I can opt out of chrome made me very happy. I wish that whoever designed this does a decepticon in the near future as the transformation is awesome and there aren't any things like ironhide's hips where you say to yourself "this could've been done better".

Masterpiece Wheeljack comes to mind, Masterpiece Prowl, Transformers Prime RID Vehicon (love the accordion style transformation), Transformers Prime First Edition Cliffjumper, and I'm sure there are a few others but those immediately jump out at me as some of my favorites from the past 5 years.

Burn wrote:Not disappointed one bit. His transformation, for lack of a better term, would best be described as "intricate". It's not difficult, there's just lots of little things you could easily miss. Like shifting the flares on the wheel well, not locking the wheels into place in robot mode. Little things that could easily be overlooked.
I swapped out the chrome parts for the white parts, primarily because it looks better, but a smaller reason is the problems others have reported with Ironhides chrome.
Many of have spoken about the ladder, and it truly is brilliant. Multiple points to fold, more so than Alternator Grimlocks hips! The difference is, you can't go wrong with the folding.
The accessories ... so many accessories! I had no idea what the third grill was for until I looked at the instructions. For holding onto Red Alert? sheesh Takara, how much attention to detail do you need to go to?

All individually interesting while adding to an allover feeling of proper execution.

Just a question for those in the know. Does Inferno and Ironhide have the same engineers/designers?

Ironhide was done by Hironori Kobayashi, who seems to be the current main designer after Shogo Hasui. Inferno was probably done by him, or both as they tend to lend eachother a hand like with MP-22 Ultra Magnus.

For some reason Amazon.co.jp wont ship that one specific MP outside of Japan. I wonder why that could be? And if you're wondering, yes, they will ship Megatron.
