At the first sight of Masterpiece Ironhide, we knew Takara would reuse the mold to bring us Masterpiece Ratchet, we just didn't know how long we would have to wait. Not that long, it appears, since Nippon Yassan already has preorders for this brand new Masterpiece figure which has a release date of April 30h 2016 and is priced at 7,180 Yen (around 60$ US). This listing indicates that this is not an exclusive in Japan and should be listed on your preferred merchant's site soon. That's not all, the Autobase Aichi blog also has images of MP-30 Masterpiece Ratchet found below. He also comes with the sleigh and a slew of accessories, as well as an extra head/face. Dont know about you guys, but the fact that his pelvic section has straight lines on it makes it look way better than Ironhide's diaper.

I completely agree, I didn't really have that much interest in iron hide but I'm very interested in ratchet and I think it has to do with that area.

Wow looking at him towering over bluestreak shows how they threw scale out the window. Im glad I stuck with classics and never really caught the MP bug.

No more so than G1 already did (well, maybe just a bit more). Of course there's multiple scale charts so your milage may vary.

Actually the scale is correct. Ironhide and Ratchet have always been taller than the cars. Check out the scale chart.

But if you want to keep diddling yourself out of the "perfect" G1 scale you say you crave then be my guest. Because that's the truth: the only way to get perfect G1 scale is to collect MPs.

He's not perfect (like ironhide) but he's certainly good enough for me.
Takara is on a roll, kicking out 6 MP's in 6 months. I wonder when we'll see more of that optimus primal that they teased half a year ago.

Looks Great just some people are gonna complain the same things mp-ironhide had even though you could expect some kind of third party upgrade kit of some kind plus if your getting the red Bumblebee your probably getting ironhide and ratchet and some people are mad that mp-30 wasn't galvatron even though we probbaly gonna get an mp galvatron at some point.

See, when put so eloquently it makes me forget he was blasted so easily on the shuttle to Autobot City in TF:TM. Ratchet was amazing in the G1 comics.

I am glad he comes with the two pistols though, this time the Decepticons won't make it there!!

Sweet merciful crap I can't wait to stage some toys for some photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not keen on this figure or the 'Masterpiece' line in general but I will agree Ratchet was a great character throughout the whole Marvel UK/US run (which always made it harder that his toy was one of the most crappy Transformers ever made).
