So, that it doesnt happen to you, I will say how it happened. I had him combined for a while. I had forgotten about the small tab that locks Scrapper's shovel. When I undid him, I just pulled the shovel down, breaking that tiny tab into a few teeny tiny pieces. Scrapper is currently in emergeny care while I try to glue the "larger" pieces together.

The Hasbro version has it too, in the same spot. Again, several reports of breakage.
Ahah thanks. Pity that it has to be right at the foot
I didnt know there were other reports. I dont really feel better but at least I am glad to know I am not a total moron to be the only one.
The more I think about it, the reports of breakage really show how odd a design choice this was. Everything else pegs in (arms, chest, legs), but that little part is just a snap, and its so darn crucial. It would have been better if the sides of the shovel pistons locked in at each edge of the foot instead.
Also, the fact that it shattered in several pieces means the plastic is brittle.
Yeah, I had mentioned it somewhere at one point, and actually was called a douche or something similar for ragging on the plastic, so, now we all know I actually wasn't that far off base

Kind of like my PSA thread on brittle plastics........I feel the pain

That's the trouble with Foreign language manuals. I'll keep my eyes peeled on this "tab"

He's not that Roller. He's this Roller:RAR wrote:Every Optimus Prime I had until they started reissuing them had a Blue Roller, so it still looks a little odd for him to not be dark blue to me though.

IDW G1. Unicron pulled him into the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity to give him a new form, along with Armada Thrust and Prime War Breakdown.shajaki wrote:Sabre, what continuity is that Roller from?

Can anyone provide a pic of this delicate Devy piece?

That indeed is the suckage. Sorry to hear that. To skip quoting a huge post - in regards to if hasbro's Devy has the same issue or not or if it's been reported - mine isn't broke, marred or damaged in anyway, but that piece jumped out as a problem the first time I handled Scrapper. The plastic they used is super soft feeling. It's definitely a handle with care toy.william-james88 wrote:Here is the delicate piece in question. It is the tiny protruding tab at the middle of the bar:

And to the one who asked, I cant exchange this since I did get Devy a month ago now and this was my mistake.

Sorry to hear that! I think though for the big purchases, it's wise to wait like I am doing right now so I can hear all the horror stories and make me aware and more careful. I recommend doing the same sometimes for these types of things. It really helps to not break things so often.
And some transformers require "break plastic" force to transform them correctly.fenrir72 wrote:SillySpringer wrote:william-james88 wrote:

It would be hypocritical of me to just post just be careful. But what if you were careful but you missed one step in the transformation sequences?I had already 4 cases when the item just broke apart and I was careful

And the instructions at times whether in English or otherwise don't make sense at all.

True true, though it is better to know about these things early on to know what you're getting into.
