You can always get the Hasbro on sale later if the price is cheap enough.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Because Takara isn't as restricted in terms of Production Costs as Hasbro. Simple as that.

Also because Takara doesn't exactly make those decisions. Hasbro are the ones that decide on what to put out. If hasbro didn't do combiner wars, than Takara wouldn't have made United. Same for Power Core Combiners. 3 or 4 years after we got PCC they started using PCC wasn't it? Same as animated? Takara follows what hasbro does. That's the truth. That's why most of the legends figures came out 9 months to a year after Hasbros releases. Hasbro does their thing and Takara waits to see how they can achieve it as well. That's why it's taken 2 1/2 years for Takara to finally do something with the Generations Skids mold. Still nothing on Jhiaxus...
Takara is very picky on what they want to make and do. It's in Hasbros best interest to wait and see what Takara does, especially if a lot of behind the scenes designing is from Hasbro.

I dont get the mention of behind the scenes, Hasbro has videos of designers talking about coming up with combiner wars. The system is well known:
Hasbro comes up with a design
They send it to Takara and pay takara to do the engineering
Takara then gets to use that toy to do as they wish with it (including remolding it)
With Computron what is interesting is that all the molds were already available. The engineering was already done for all of them. Takara did their thing and so did Hasbro, at the same time. I am sure both knew what they were doing.
And you are totally right in saying that Takara only did these now because Hasbro started it. However, it is not true to say that Takara always waits for Hasbro. They didnt for these combiners:
Or the etire MP line.
Also Takara releasing things after means nothing. Its not because Hasbro has a head start, the engineering is done by Takara and they can both release them after if they want. The Entire Galaxy Force line was first released by Takara.
And here's a modern day example: the TAV Quillfire and Thunderhoof were released in Japanese retail before American retail.
The schedule doesnt mean anything and shouldnt serve as a support to any argument.

He was talking about the good guys. Gigatron was a takara mold, yes.

Just making sure, does that mean you find the Masterpiece line weird as hell?

MPs are by soupy Takara. Aaron Archer did contribute to MP-01 and a lot of people have said recently that Soundwave was made with the help of Hasbro

Sometimes it can be. Look at the first MP starscream. He is a bit weird. Takara decided to instead of making an accurate starscream, make an accurate F-15 that can turn into starscream and that was is a hot a hit or miss till he was heavily retooled to look more like starscream.
Hot Rod came with his trusty fishing pole.
They also have Optimus a skull face under his face plate...weird.

I am right there with you on all that. They do add some funky stuff to that line. Wheeljack has a mustache under his faceplate too
