Maybe he's a panel-former like universe ironhide?

I think he's whatever animated Rodimus is.
william-james88 wrote:If ever Sabrblade decides to go on vacation, I am glad to know we can rely on you.
TFA Rodimus has tight transformation, and minimal back kibble, MP-28 looks like he has way too much kibble in the back. That spoiler is waaaay out there. Huge turn off.william-james88 wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Ironhidensh wrote:Pretty sure at this point it's safe to say Hotrod is a shellformer.

Yeah animated rodimus looked real nice, mp hot rod is kinda a panel-ridden mess, just the nature of the beast though, I suppose

Funny how an animated figure can be considered a better version than a masterpiece.

Yeah, but it's not difficult, animated rodimus was pretty on-point

Sad but true.Burn wrote:D-Maximus_Prime wrote:Funny how an animated figure can be considered a better version than a masterpiece.
The original G1 figure does a better job of the back kibble and spoiler than this Masterpiece version.
Burn wrote:Agamemnon wrote:Let's get back to talking about Burn's mammoth snout flopping...
Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Well, it's their fault for trying to go super show accurate with a figure that just can't do that, he's proportionately designed to be as wide as his shoulders and chest when in vehicle mode, short-changing either would result in a weird vehicle mode; so, yeah, bummer they chose to dredge him up and try to do even less than the former. Should've just left it alone and done an easy one, like seaspray, or something

Well, I was being facetious, I don't get mp's, I don't like G1 enough, maybe they could've worked on bw megatron instead of this...

You trying out new motto's for the site or somethin'?
You should sig that, set everyone straight, and keep reminding me of what's really important

Animated and G1 both had great designs (looked them both up after reading up on them) and yeah, they only needs some minor stuff to obtain masterpiece quality

When Hot Rod V2 was announced my reaction was "Is that really necessary?"
Now, the more I look at it I think "What the hell were they thinking when they set out to redesign him whilst sticking to MP standards?"
Unless standards have changed ...
william-james88 wrote:I believe they have due to a change in designer. Tracks with that giant gap and Ironhide with the odd proportions end up being the first MPs to truly be done without any assistance by Hasui. I dont know about you, but I can tell. Here is a list of what he did work on and I will let you all see for yourselves whether or not the MP line has suffered (or will suffer) in light of this shift:

I still think tracks is great, being small and curvaceous in vehicle, and trying to look like the figure/show model, he was bound to have a backpack, and there is only so much panel forming one can do to conceal it. the body is defined -and the back is enclosed - and the trunk part is just attached - it is a literal backpack and I'm okay with that.

Not acceptable, not under the masterpiece banner. MPs are supposed to be on another level altogether. These latest entries (with the exception of shockwave) feel more like oversized generations toys than MPs. They could do better, and have proven they can in the past. Now it feels like they are just trying to make a cheep back.

Tracks has inaccurate proportions as well, being more slender and lean than his more stout animation model was.william-james88 wrote:I believe they have due to a change in designer.
