I will be keeping my eyes out and my ears open for a place I can score these bad boys ASAP! Since, from what I have read, the sites that will start taking preorders on the 22nd don't do international transactions...but I am confident that there will be SOMEONE to come along and offer them to the entire world, and hopefully not at $8934788795 a piece!

Is this Takara's pay back for Hasbro releasing the Red Excellion? Owwie Lolz. Any who, I'm happy for the fans that have another chance to get these repaint. But i still wish there was this must demand for a complete seeker set from the Energon/Superlink Starscream mold.

I dont know if I am in the minority here, but like all the other Henkei releases minus Megs, I dont think these versions are better than what Hasbro and Funpub offered, in fact I think they are mostly inferior.

The entire point of classics was a revision of G1 with modern themes and inspiration. I dont want the paint to be exactly like G1, that wasnt the point of the line.

I will take my Hasbro Skywarp and Botcon 'Cracker over these anyday. Details are nicer in my opinion, especially Skywarp's striping. I also never liked the tacked on chrome of the Henkei releases.

I cant be the only one not impressed with these, I know that there are many like me who arent impressed with the entire Henkei redeco of the classics molds. Megatron was the only one I found decidedly better, and perhaps Astrotrain could be argued as a matter of taste. All the others though, not superior in the least, in fact quite the opposite.

I don't have the BC set or any parts thereof, or any other vested interest in this set.

Predictions:

1> Hentai* Thundercracker will open on preorders at roughly $100.

2> 'Scalpers'** will drive the price up to $200 by the end of the first week.

3> 75% of you posting that you'll get it regardless of the cost will stop saying that when you have to shell out $100 plus for it.

4> You will still be pissed and moaning that the evil, rich, greedy bastards*** took your toy.

5> And you will sound like my two year old.



It's like CP said earlier in one of his earlier reports and in this very thread: You gotta pay to play. And believe me, you'll be paying to play with this one. Personnally, I don't care either way, it's gonna be fun to watch the fuelshed.****

Heres hoping BBTS doesn't drill us too much for them (if they even get them). I really want to own a Thundercracker, but I won't pay $100+ for a repaint of a $20 deluxe mould. Not with City Commander, Classics 2.0 and MP Grimlock coming up in the near future.

Agree 110%! I want these new Henkei Seekers, but I am not gonna get raped by a price-tag on them! If they are too high, I will sigh and resign myself to the Classics. Not my first choice, but if it comes down to chosing between paying the light bill and getting the Henkei Seekers......

75 - 100 is probably pushing it for me. I don't have a whole lot of $$ and never did during the whole botcon fiasco. As I said, I hope my sister in law in japan can do me a favour.

Hell I haven't made a single botcon yet, but if all it is is a chance to get some crappy repaints, I can't see any point in going at all.

And don't give me all that BotCon Exclusives can only be bought at BotCon ****, cause BBTS had them too!

Exclusives get revisited just as often as figures get repainted now a days. Get use to it and thanks for the heads up about the rest of the events being a waste of time.

Apparently you don't know what the definition of "exclusive" is. If this is what BotCon considers an exclusive, I'd much prefer getting an early release of a regular figure since you are getting an item early...which is something they can guarantee.

And that BBTS argument is pretty silly, what did they get, their own production run? Maybe e-bay sellers that sell BotCon stuff should make their own convention exclusives next.

And don't put words in my mouth, I never said the event was a waste, that's why there is a $10 ticket to get in. I paid for exclusives and they did not deliver. They should not market these items as such if they can not guarantee it.

Plus maybe people would have spent a few hundred bucks more with the vendors if they knew these "exclusives" would see a release outside of their intended distribution.

Sir, with all due respect, this isn't the first or last exclusive to be re released in such a manner. Many exclusives that say they are exclusive to one place are available elsewhere.

This doesn't mean the company hates you or anything. If the exclusive was only $15 instead of $40 I'm willing to bet you wouldn't care. What about the SDCC Exclusive Nemesis Prime? Japan gets one too! Why do they get our exclusive? Doesn't that make it not exclusive? We get their Alternators/Kiss Players Rodimus too! Do the Japanese never buy from Hasbro again?

The point is, it's happened before and it will happen again. There are plenty of exclusives that have failed to stay that way. Why make such a big fuss now?

You know I was just thinking about this myself. I have the 07 Botcon set it cost me $279.00 for five figures and a very nice display worthy box. Not even taking into consideration that one of the figures was a Voyager that works out to about $56.00 a figure. Not bad for exclusives. Now people are talking about how they are finally going to have the chance to have the remaining seekers. I don't see anyway these will be for sale here for $56.00. Thess are exclusives, they are imports, and online retailers that will have preorders up know how much people want these. I think I got the better deal.

That isn't really true either. Since if the Botcon set costs $279, and closer to $1000 now, it doesn't come anywhere close to being as cheap as one Henkei Thundercracker, foreign exclusive or not.

Aside of thrust and ramjet, which I would have liked. I did not want the other ones. Albeit, I could have sold them. But anyway, getting the botcon set was not in the cards for me at the time. I just got the botcon shattered glass starscream for 80 after shipping.

I think we are missunderstanding one another here. Obviously I'm talking past tense here, to buy the Botcon set at this point would be outrageous, but at the time the figures would have been $56.00 each. I'm betting these will go for $75.00 to $100.00 and probably the same for the remaining two should they get released.

I see. My apologies. If my plan works out though Skywarp should cost me no more than $70, which is quite an inflation from the $30 price tag but all the shipping and commission involved is quite a pain.

Good luck, I hope that works out for you. I would think that Skywarp would be less expensive since his original release was less exclusive. I'm all for fans getting the figures they want, I just never really understood all the outrage over the 07 Botcon set.

People are easy to understand. I can understand why people want them, and I can understand why others don't want them to have them. There are various reasons but mostly people just want and talk for the sake of it.

Then on both sides you have the people who are nice about it and the ones who veil poison with word, intentionally or not, that part of their personality bleeds through. And that's where we have problems.

And about a page before that, Pyrostrata was just saying how these were a must-have no matter what.

Believe me, I'm not picking on Pyrostrata who is easily one of my favorite members of this board and always a fun (and intelligent) read but that just illustrates my point (and that of others) that many of the people who were angling for a Henkei release might just shy away if the price tag is not so cushy.

By the way, I'm glad they are not releasing any "Hentai" Transformers. That stuff is just plain disturbing. Anyone ever see "Fencer?"

Oh you mean the Betty Crocker exclusive seeker, don't get that started up again.

Now this is something from 2 years ago so there is a good chance I'm remembering this wrong but didn't Hasbro say in relation to Cybertron Excelion that, per an agreement with Takara, they had to modify the paint design significantly to differentiate him from the Japanese release? Wouldn't an agreement like that go both ways? True the Japanese TC isn't 100% like the Bot-Con release but if you didn't know where and what differences to look for, could you tell? I'll be damned if I could tell Excelion from the Japanese DVD set.
