There is no comparison of FOC Bruticus to This. Hasbro's combiners will always be Hasbro combiners. Very limited in range, and articulation. That's why they are 100$ for a set, Vs. 100$ per figure.
FoC Bruticus' limbs look like they have far more of a range of movement than any 3rd party combiner. FoC Bruticus also looks like it has just as much articulation(sans hands) than them, if not more. 3rd party combiners are just too blocky to be that articulated.

:HEADHURTS:
Oh, now you're just intentionally trying to start an argument.
No I'm not. I apologize if it looks that way though.

I know that wasn't your intention but your comment about FoC Bruticus having more articulation than a 3rd party combiner was so ridiculous an argument was inevitable.

If you prefer FoC Bruticus to anything the 3rd parties are doing then that's fine, I've got no major ;) issue with that, but please don't make up rubbish excuses to justify it. While no one has reported on the full extent of Bruticus' articulation (as far as I know) it can't be any more articulated than Hercules, Colossus or Giant. Those figures have got about as much range of motion as you could expect, and you can't just ignore hand articulation and say they're the same.

I could've swore I said besides the hands... but it's more than likely true that FoC Bruticus has more of a range of movement and at least as much articulation as the 3rd parties. I can immediately conclude that Bruticus' knees bend all the way, with only his scrawny thighs stopping at his calf, as the nature of his leg transformation. His hip joints are probably carried over from Onslaught's, which look pretty standard. Considering the knee joint, that's better leg articulation right there. I don't imagine bots like Hercules with much more than maybe a 120 degree knee rotation.

Carried over from knee rotation is shoulder rotation, so he can move his arms inward and possibly cross them. Elbow articulation seems normal from Botcon pics.

I don't make anything up to justify my tastes. If there's something wrong with something I like, I'll be the first to say it. =)

Theres also a line to be walked between having a really good looking gestalt mode, and articulation. You could have a combiner made up of the thinnest, crappiest figures, and they could have an insane amount of articulation. But the Gestalt looks like a walking stick figure(bot). That is essentially what FOC Bruticus is. Its all so flat. It has no feet articulation for starters, and its shoulders are a very obvious square joint.

Perfect example of having both ability and looks here: Maketoys Giant. The shoulder is basically the same as FOC in that its a very clear joint that then extends outwards and THEN starts the actual shoulder. Giant just has the ability to squeeze the shoulder vehicle parts close to the joint after you find the pose you like. If it didn't have the ability, it'd still look great, but would have limited articulation.

So my point is, alright there might be as much articulation on some limbs and areas, and in some cases just a greater range of movement on FOC Bruticus, but at what cost? The cost is that it looks like a steaming pile of ****.

Just want to go on record and say that I am SURE FP Bruticus has more articulation in every way than FOC Bruticus, both in range of movement and actual points.

That's definitely a matter of personal taste. I think that FoC Bruticus looks a lot better, for instance.

Well I'm not gonna argue a point over and over again. There's only so many times one can point something out and have it responded to with "nope, don't see it, our favorites are clearly better". :BANG_HEAD:

Oh well. Enjoy your TFC Uranus, guys. =)

Different strokes for different folks... I'm glad to see there's at least one person out there who will enjoy FoC Bruticus.

Anyone know how big Uranus is? God, that sounds bad... really though, any word on scale?

Sorry, I might have gotten carried away. I basically wanted to say that its about both articulation and looks. No hard feelings. And sorry for derailing further.

This is supposed to be on scale with Herc, right? so should be between voyager and deluxe individual figures, with silverbolt being the biggest i'm assuming.

TFC,I was so surprised and impressed the first time i caught a glimpse of Uranus, I just had to see more. Once I had a taste of Uranus, I was hooked. I want nothing but Uranus. Period.

I can't wait to see more pictures of Uranus. I'd really like to see a closeup of Uranus, ones where they get right in there and really show the details. I want pics of Uranus from every angle.

On another note, Pluto might be a planet again?

That sucks if that's the case... it means the price will be on scale with Hercules as well. This thing is looking so damn cool, I was really hoping it was going to be affordable. Might just have to stick with my Fansproject upgrade kit though...

The bigger the better in my opinion. This needs to stand at the same height as Herc. Absolutely needs to. I will continue purchasing TFC until the end if they continue releasing combiners in the same height scale.

I agree, they need to keep within the scale they've created.

They have developed a fan base around that, and they should keep it up.

I've never bought a 3rd party piece before, but this has potental to be the first. I like what I see so far, but until I see a finished product, I'm not putting down this kind of money. I'm more concerned about the color now then anything, since the molds and prototypes look great. Will it be plastic color molded primarily? Or all paint? I don't want to assume anything, but I'm thinking it will be very close to original coloring. If not, I would not be interested. Lets see the actual product.

For those of you already speculating on cost...keep in mind that for Youranus and any of TFC's future scramble efforts you will only be buying 5 bots instead of six...

This can either mean two things...one of them good and one of them really shameful.

1. Either all of their future combiners will cost at least $100 dollars less to collect 'em all, or...

2. TFC will only care about "total profit" from the Gestalt set as a whole bottom line, so in order to make the same $600 bones from a 5-bot scramble city as they did off of Herc, they will actually increase the price of each bot by 20-25 bones.

I am waiting with my "shame on you" finger at the ready, prepared to waggle.

you're getting to far into "**** won't sell" tin foil hat-ness.

It means the Concorde like Figure will be around 200$, to make up for not having a sixth figure.
They won't raise prices, it would only hurt, there's no figure from TFC I'd buy for 125$.

And is that a silhouette of Silverbolt??

Looks pretty sweet-love the colors and blue canopies. Definitely getting these.

My only concern at this point is the tiny peg on the foot used to attach it; it doesn't look beefy enough to support all the weight that's going to be put on it, especially when you dynamically pose the complete gestalt.
