Unless the Hasbro one fits my needs, but I'm skeptical since I saw the Groove will be a chest piece or weapon and not a limb.
I would wait for maketoys guardia. Theyre skipping the scales issue and making a G1 sccurate groove as a limb. If I buy Hasbrosor with the groove chest it will just be for s**t and giggles and to display the team as individual bots. And I wouldnt be suprised if belzeboss has shifted their attention from slingshot to groove.
I'm not getting Guardia since I prefer the TFC size to the Maketoys size ... though the MT combiners scale pretty well with the CW figures, so I am starting to rethink that decision.
I like your thought about Belzeboss, I hope they do a CW-esque Groove as a limb. That would be pretty sweet!!!
I thought TFC downsized their figures to deluxe scale ? Their streetwise is pretty much the same size as generations drift in both modes from the pics ive seen. If thats the case then it really all boils down to how you want your groove to look. If its going to be out of scale G1 vintage style, just gimme a Harley. Screw that concept racing bike that has nothing to do with law enforcement.

Also, police forces have been known to use concept vehicles in their inventory- some law enforcement departments use souped-up sports cars for example. In any case, I imagine him more as a "transformers-scale" bike that another Autobot could ride on for some extra speed.

I don't have any Protectobots in hand, so from what I can tell from pics, Streetwise and the others are "big deluxes" which size up well with bigger classics like Jazz and Drift.
The constructicons stand a little bigger than those same dudes, so I think TFC's size is about the same as it always was, with any difference made up in Hotspot.

Could be the cantankerous voices have largely moved on, knowing this isn't for them? I'm one of those.
Some of the individual bots are really nice (i.e. Blades) but overall I'm still not digging the set. Especially in combined mode.

It's not for me. Hotspot is too tall to scale with his team in robot mode. Streetwise looks like Drift. I hate that lawnmower bike they used for Groove. And both my Uranus and Hercules have floppy legs making posing a pain in the ass. I'm hoping somebody does a proper Groove for Hasfensor so I wont have to buy Guardia.

Ha! He really is. I kinda dig him though- he looks like a big, bulky brick sh*thouse of a robot who can withstand anything short of Trypticon stepping on him- very "defense-y". That said I'm going HasTak simply because it's cheaper and looks great. I wouldn't mind picking up Hydrant on his own though- he just looks so damn cool.

Autobot Genocide wrote:Streetwise looks awful to me just looks like a really lazy robot design and transformation the alt mode looks really good though .
Groove is the opposite robot looks great with loads of detail and the bike I guess I haven't warmed up to it yet .
I think both modes looked pretty good, I just can't get my mind around the scale between the bike and the car. If you want to make a bike the same size as a car then it should be similar to a cybertronian-afterburner-esque design. If the bike had a cock pit instead of a seat and handle bars I could get behind it.
Autobot Genocide wrote:The legs. my first thoughts were they don't look good and as i've looked another couple of times I still think the same.
I agree, but for me is the scale of the bike; it looks great as a leg nice and chunky without to much kibble. But it looks way out of scale next to the car which now looks flat and insignificant next to it.
Autobot Genocide wrote:I would complain about the vehicles having no transformation as limbs but with fp menasor I can't really say much but when I look at that car & especially the bike I cant help but think it needs something else just a couple of twist and turns after all this is TFC and not FP .
I tend to agree the limb modes are very old school Gobot to me. Not that is necessarily a bad thing; being simple and efficient in a design is a plus; but it does detract from the satisfying sophistication one looks for in a MP class figure.

So, the scale is off, but maybe not as much as one might think...
Personally, I'd have loved to have seen a Can-Am Spyder as Groove.

But, maybe that's because I'm getting one this summer...

While I'm still "meh" on Gumball, and don't like Groove's new alt mode at all, I really think the combined mode captured Defensor really well, and even Groove looks good as a limb.
I'll definitely be getting this once one of the retailers does a set at a discounted combined price.
