That was a really smart move. I remember you wanting the Takara one and while I know i was one of the many to encourage Takara on you, I didnt feel it was worth it in this case. With such a heavy ad expensive item, the importing costs just didnt seem worth it. Instead you have an SDCC version which is a much better deal, locally, since you can have that amazing sword and premium paint job for less. SDCC was really a win win in this case (unlike Last year when it was the most random ass version of Devastator where the only people who like it are the ones who got it for free).

Thats a great line, get as many as you can while they are still there since many go for a big price. Look up MISC ROTF Lockdown, Skystalker, Leader Megatron or Mindwipe. Did they have those? If they do, get em!

As for Brainstorm, he was not released afterall. The new release date rumoured is sometime November.

Also Cram, I see we both like to have our kids play with our toys. I dont get worried if she breaks em since they are quite durable and she just likes how articulated they are. She really like just playing with a midtransformation Generations Power Master Prime and just movig the panels around. Good times.

Which of the Wave 2 guys do you like best? I am not sure yet, all I know is taht I really dont like Mindwipe's headsculpt. Skullsmasher's turned out perfectly ok for me in hand but Mindwipe's is just off. And the Takara one isnt any better.

Oh I know I was just playing along but also giving my thoughts. I happen to be very opinionated in this hobby and I dont mind it challenged. I do preffer when the stickers go over a flat surface though since I like seeing molded detail. For instance I would just loe to own those reprolabels for Leader Soundwave's kneecaps. But just those. Because that area is just begging for some colour/detail.

I wish Mindwipe's bat head was more articulated. It just sits there and doesn't peg in so well. It's a three way tie for first of Chromedome (never had the G1)/ Highbrow (have the G1) / and Weirdwolf (never had the G1). So that means Mindwipe is 4th. And out of the wave 1 and 2 so far, he's probably 7th

Yeah, thats how I feel too, the other 3 are all tied and I ery much love them in their own way. That Chromedome finalyl makes me appreciate the engineering of Deadend and I just adore the paint apps on him, especially all that brown to convey a continuous colour around the cockpit.

So, who's 8th? I only know my number 1 is (Legends) Blurr and havent really ranked the rest.

It was really hard to make that list. Other than Mindwipe's short comings they are all awesome, and for me, are pretty much on a level playing field. (battle field?)

Weirdwolf would be the best I guess if I was comparing all the Hasbro releases only. They really went all out for him with his colours and details. I especially love the overlay of plastic colours on his shoulders. I dont really like his gun though, and how the small titan master doesnt really plug into it.

2 Hardhead - I like him in both modes and tons of play options
3 Chromedome - would have been higher if he didn't feel so Dead Endy, his upper torso is really killer

Not sure I get the question but I will say what the difference is between each release. They each differ in paint apps, sword, head used for Cerebros and sound effects.

SDCC and Takara are very similar. The paint apps are a bit different but the main difference is actually the sound effects. SDCC plays the TF Theme Song while Takara's plays the Headmasters Theme Song.

The standard hasbro version does not come with a sword, does not play a cool theme song, has very different paint apps (more grey, less white) and the head on cerebros is different.

Maybe its because I play with her too, so she sees how I handle things. Its cute because she doesnt really throw but instead extends things out to me os that I can see them and touch them. She likes interacting with her dady more than the toys themselves.

To answer Cary's question and to chime in with Will, I think it's the natural girl temperament AND the fact that she doesn't see me throw or smash or anything. She tries it sometimes, as she is currently goes to a daycare that is more boys than girls, but I'm quick to guide her. Or I just say "Bumblebee doesn't like it when you smash him." Kids like to think their toys are real, and you know what, it's still real to me dammit!!

To answer Cary's OTHER question, paint/sounds/sword/face. For me personally, I completely IGNORE Season 4 of the G1 US cartoon as FOR ME Transformers: Headmasters is the superior story arc, as it is super cheesy at times. And that's what the G1 cartoon is all about. Cheese.

SO! I wanted the Takara release for the Japanese sound effects, and was super excited that a snippet of the theme song played. We've been listening to that theme song ALMOST daily on the way to daycare since we started carpooling 2 years ago. Baby girl REQUESTS it and loves it, so do I, all the feels.

Boys crash and bash, jump and punch. Girls CAN do all these things too, but they tend to also care and nurture. One is not better than the other. Men and women are equal, but the are very different.

Man guys, my birthday is around the corner and Max IS the list. But now I'm having a dilemma. I was happy to just go for regular Max. Especially for $130 and free shipping, but SDCC sounds so much more fun. Plus SWORD!

Yeah, Wolfie's gun is pretty dumb. I really only like it mounted in wolf schlong mode.

I think CD may be my fav even though he isn't on top of my list. Me and my crazy two sided brain. Them colors, the torso, the way the hood flap pegs in and forms part of the torso (unlike CW), the clever but familiar leg magic.

I'm a IDW guy and CD doesn't have those crazy wheel shoulders but his shoulders are so wide it works. He is the one a play with the most, well him and Rewind.

One last thing and in the vein of dumb weapons. That gun sled (slun?) thing that CD comes with. The side pegs are too big to peg into anything. Anyone else run into that?

My HB and Scourge are bobble heads, but most are a little wobbly or just annoying to poise. I don't sweat it much.

He's deco is amazing and he looks really cool double fisting his machine guns. Speaking of are probably the best TR deluxe weapon that I can think of. Mines a little back heavy and his whirly bird bits and shoulders limit my fun, but I'll give him some more love tonight. I also need to snap a pic of his Galactus / sci-fi nightmare mode.

Yeah, but its not that funky, he does have that whole arsenal and he has tank treads:


And I dont think any of the triple changers we got in TR are any better.

Also, for Fortmax, I would go SDCC. Because you get a lot for a small extra (off the original standard price). The sword itself is worth 50$, as we know form what the solo sowrd costs on e-bay, plus you get the different titans master that comes with the taakra one and not the standard hasbro one. Plus the theme song. Plus the nice paint job. Baiscally, SDCC fort max is Takara's fort max released locally by hasbro proper. Thats a great deal. And remember, once it leaves Hasbro toy shop, the price for that one will becomes unafordable, just like SDCC Metroplex.

I cant get it because my exchange rate is in the gutter and the shipping is ridiculous, but you dont have those obstacles

It wasnt obvious, but the side pegs to peg into the holes in this vehicle mode at the head of the sides. It becomes a sidecar of sorts and you can have a titan master ride shotgun
