Soooooooooooo last night I decided to do an inspection of Apollyon and see what needs fixing for more fun times.

I removed his upgraded shoulder socket, which actually popped off pretty easy! I floor polished the ball of the joint and the cup on the shoulders (and I'm going to use the stock shoulder piece now). I also floor polished one of the side guard things on one of his arms, it was ultra loose (a rivet). Tightened a bunch of screws and FINALLY got all the leg panels to peg together!! That was not much fun..

So now the bad.

The white-ish shoulder tabs that come out from the torso to lock the shoulder sockets on are flexed. One has a stress mark, but both are definitely not squared off.

One of the interior tabs that fold out from the pelvis will NOT stay folded out when connecting the hip sections to the pelvis. I watch it fold in each time it tries to make contact. Therefore, the hips don't stay pegged in.

On the pelvis in bot mode, there are two black plastic pieces that basically form the top of the pelvis that stick out from the center. One broke and I can't find it!

One of his knees on the backside where the pin is has SERIOUS stress marks. How?!

So, in conclusion, it's Wednesday.

I'm just ever so slightly annoyed with Apollyon. Pretty sure I had him to alt mode successfully once. Every other time it's when I just pick up some of the other bots and I'm going back and forth and I get to him and get him halfway there and then something doesn't seem right or that it might break and I put him back in bot mode.

Transformers need to be transformed. And as annoying as this Generations Galvatron is to transform because EVERYTHING pops off, at least he hasn't broken.

That he is D-Max. He's good until you try to transform him like every other figure you've ever transformed. I've determined that isn't for me. Don't get me wrong, he looks the part, and I'd definitely say a mix of all three available 3rd Party Megatron's would yield the best overall, but I dunno. Trying to have more fun with what I have lately has not been fun with him. He's gonna be a great statue until Takara 2.0 ever comes out. Just like my TRU MP9 Rodimus Prime. Poseable statue mode will be engaged!

Actually I've heard this but it's never worked for me. They will however fix bent out of package soft rubbery plastic.

My wife has a super hair dryer (apparently) and I've smelt a burning plastic the last time I took it to a figure. I stopped and was happy to have not damaged anything. Speaking of, when I was playing with Whirl he still smells a bit like burnt plastic (he always has cause mine came from Australia :lol:

).

shaj I've heard that and/or hot water, but the area is so compact it would heat up everything in the area which may not be great as cary experienced.

I think Wheeljack may accidentally re-direct it closer. That's usually how his machines work at first at least :lol:

Taking Apollyon apart is easy, he does that to himself! Seriously though, for my first attempt with using Pledge floor polish to "tighten" joints, it's going amazingly! Both Optimus and Apollyon now have tighter articulated fingers, slightly tighter ankles (may need a different paint brush to get in there better), and definitely improved stability overall. Universe Hound and Titans Return Skullsmasher are up next for hip fixing. Maybe Combiner Wars Onslaught for elbows (holding CW Shockwave is taking its toll).

I also noticed a few screws are shorter in places than others on Apollyon, so I may go through and determine which ones should be where, like the panels on his legs should have longer ones compared to the pieces on his arms and such.

That SND Primo Vitalis kit for CW Optimus may be in my future now..upgrades and fixing is FUN!!

Perceptor would work!

it looked like perceptor wasnt going to have good articulation at first but he actually does.

It was!! He's back together now, I'll post those pics in a few minutes. Remarkable difference BTW, I'm even using the stock shoulders on the cannon arm!! He's clearly still not easily transformable as a bunch of stuff will probably break, but at least he's more stable.

You know who's cool when you have a flat surface to stand him on? Masterpiece Starscream (the first version). There was a discussion over at Ironhidensh's Robot Room of Fun about what MP someone should buy and they mentioned Starscream. I think they picked up the MP11 version but MP3 is no slouch! He's got detail FOR DAYS and the side skirts give him a trench coat/cloak like appearance (works really well for Skywarp) that just looks cool. Maybe that's where that bot in Age of Extinction got it from. That Corvette Autobot.. What's his name..

Whatever, not important.

What IS important is I'm finding a lot of the figures I already have are pretty dang awesome.
