All in all, I just think it's funny that the knock off Constructions/ Devastator my brother and I bought from Dollarama matches the color schemes of the vehicles in the movie, that the film wasn't that confusing, and that it was just a fun ride all the way through ... sure there were some things I would have totally changed, but hey, as a child I didn't dream I'd have two live action Tf films, let alone one, and I think the fans should maybe give the movie a break.

From what I can tell, this is from the heart, and just simply an awesome view of RotF and Bay's take on the franchise. Cheers arceelita1!

I agree, like nerdrage over the ltitlest things. I mean for all redecos and retools with in the series, them doing same in the movie doesnt surprise or offend me. Heh I suppose if anything just makes them more guilty of being like G1 haha. I guess if they were too true G1 then people complain its not new at all, so cant please everyone.

The first movie only had 5 autobots, and 8 decepticons, so them all being unique to each other was easier. I mean look at the original decepticon line up, majority of them were all F-15 strike eagles /seekers ) They manage have more diversity than that all things considered.

Multiple Constructicons - Discuss

Postby same138 » Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:34 pm

Reading throught the main review/discussion/flamewar thread and noticing a lot of people commenting on and (mainly) criticising the use of multiples of the Constructicons in different scenes, particularly the desert scenes with Devastator and individual bots, and thinking back through the animated TF series I have seen I was wondering. Would it have been more acceptable to those who had issues with this if they had used different colour schemes on the bots, a la G1 Ratchet/Ironhide?

I personally had no problem with this, Bay had commented on the fact that there were several Constructicons and not all of them made Devastator, this made the multiples in the movie make sense to me, as well as giving Hasbro an out for the criticisms of the planned toys of these characters! I'm just interested in your opinions.

I thought that there were too many construction vehicles in the movie. Constructicons, Devastator construction vehicles, Demolisher. Why not Seekers instead? Why not some new combat vehicles? I just felt like they just built a few 3D models and then used them over and over and over (hell, they rehashed Blackout and Bonecrusher too).

It made absolutely no sense to me why the Constructicons were in there but separate yet identicle vehicles turned into Devastator. Plus, the fact that Devastator was not really part of the main battle was a disappointment too. Why they wasted him with the Twins instead of having the Constructicons merge to form him on the front line of the key action was a total miss to me.

Devastator had the most important task, he had to clear that pesky pyramid out of the way. Everything the Decepticons were trying to do depended on getting the harvester working, and he was the best guy for the job.

Considering that the Fallen was apparently magical and could lift/move rocks, why didn't he do that? Had Devastator actually torn down the whole thing, I'd be with you on this. Since he only cleared off the top, it seemed like a waste of his size/strength IMO.

It's been bugging me. Where exactly did the wrecking balls come from? I don't remember ever seeing them on any alt modes.

I thought Devestator was awesome. NOT G1 Devestator but a new beast altogether.

Devastator

Okay I searched but didnt find a topic that was only discussing this.

Is Devastator 1 robot? I mean can Bay really screw it up that bad. Thats alot of characters with the same alt modes. Just wondering if there was an official post about it anywhere? I know in the original movie Devastator was multiple bots.

Now in my opinion I think Devs is a bot on his own with multiple parts like Arcee kinda. The reasoning I have behind this is when he gets blown up not all his parts are destroyed, so why didnt they transform back to there original selves?

I am pretty sure it was Scrapper. When they are getting ready to rip him apart, you can see the big tires on his shoulders and legs.
