D, did you mean to post that AWESOME photo comic in the Takara Legends thread. Seems an odd place to post it. It was really fun though!

Yeah, I was going with the Headmaster's version of their personalities, so I thought it would work best there. If it doesn't I can just move it somewhere else

It's fine. I know nothing of Japanese HM fiction, so I guess that's why I was confused.

But again.... FUN STUFF! :APPLAUSE:

That's neat ;)^ I honestly can't say I have ever been given a TF by a friend before. Though one of my friends did send me a Hulk Hogan figure that I have posed with my display of WWE figs currently. It's even more special to me bc she sent it to me.

So serious question: is it natural to feel burned out by Transformers at this point in time? I am super stoked for the movie figures, but the Titans return line has hit a sort of stale moment for me. Like, there are many good characters getting toys, but I'm feeling burned out with them. It feels unoriginal and very repetitive. I don't want to be burned and I want to get the figures, but the excitement just isn't there.

It's probably not helped by the poor distribution, but Titans return has gone stale for me

Sometimes you just need a break. That's normal. It's part of the reason I am very picky about my figures and only get a couple per line.

Plus sometimes I drift from hobby to hobby. I might get stoked on TF's for a week or so and then the next week I will be all about baseball, wrestling, yoyo tricks or something else I really love. Of course I do make time for TF's when something interests me but I try not to overdo it.

Not really. I was getting my combiners and I was really enjoying the combining aspect. But then Titans Return came along and the retool game has worn me out. It's cool to get the new characters, but I guess I've collected enough where I feel burned out by lack of imagination I guess.

That's actually why I ended up going Voltron again. I'm really enjoying the lions and the new show, and it feels good and refreshing. and it is something new

I feel you. I was incredibly disappointed by the TR presence at Toyfair. The "G1 with articulation" thing is getting old. I saw that you haven't found any Wave 3 in the TR thread, same here, I haven't seen anything above Legends. But I just stopped caring about that Wave. Either every figure has a better version coming from somewhere or it's not something I need.

Megatron-MMC Tyrantron
Hot Rod-MMC Calidus/SXS Hot Flame
Triggerhappy-Misfire
Getaway-A. He looks like Chromedome and B. I've heard he may be Calidus' repaint/retool

And I can do without SixShot and Twinferno. Also it helps if you have another hobby to go to every once in a while. I get a lot of Star Wars and a decent amount of Marvel to split up my money, which keeps me from getting burnt most of the time.

Sorry for the novel btw

I agree with you on the first part. The lack of "update" other than articulation is disappointing as well, maybe a more prominent reason why I find the new reveals unexciting. I still want Twinferno cause I love monsterbots and Hot Rod for the Lost Light and Triggerhappy, cause I have liked the character for some reason. Never planned to get Getaway though.

I was disappointed in Sixshot and Megatron, which also doesn't help. Both were let downs.

I look forward to the movie break. Some brand new guys that I'm excited for

I'd say yes. I felt that way about CW towards the end, and I'm completely over RID. I'm felling ya on the mold reuse, that wore me out and had me change my TR strategy. There were some figures I had signed off on but have since picked up. I was considering going the 3p route, but after getting Triggerhappy, Hot Rod and most surprising to me, Twinferno, I'm feeling very enthusiastic about the regular line again. I highly recommend all three, btw. Twinferno's TM is by far the best and also a fun figure with a rock solid bot mode, Triggerhappy is just an amazing piece of engineering and awesome in both modes (alt mode is crazy clean) with Hot Rod just being a solid and fun TF (doesn't hurt how sexy his alt mode is).

So yeah it's natural for your interests to have peaks and valleys. Ride the wave, step away for a while and try something else out (like Voltron). If "X" doesn't interest you any more, don't sweat it and move on.

D, Just chimming in to say, it's perfectly natural. I went balls to the wall the first two years or so that I joined Seibertron. The effect this place has on us may go unseen but it's there. I'm not blaming it for something that is under my control, but it's fun and easy to get swept up in the party vibe hype train. I was going nuts with Takara releases, MPs, back paddling on old toys I'd missed, even dipping into 3P for the first time. It was CW where I felt the burn. I got pretty fatigued on it, and that's when I realized I needed to pull back a bit.
I thought about what my collecting was like before I joined the community. It was mostly mainline Neo G1 focused. I've decide to return to those roots.

Anyway, blah blah blah, what I really want to say is, it's perfectly natural to feel burnt out on anything you do over and over again. You're in the band, you know how you can get sick of a tune from practicing it repeatedly.

Step back take a break. Don't think about it for a few days, then think about the things about that thing that make you happy. Come back to it with a fresh mind and you may just find a new perspective.

When I get too caught up in the race to acquire the new, I listen to the echo of my Mom's voice from my childhood when I wanted a new toy and the answer was no. "Play with the ones you've got"
She is/was smart. It always helps, and has sort of become a mantra of mine.

Yeah, as the others have said, D-Max, variety is the spice of life! It's always good to have a mix of interests, hobbies and things you enjoy because it all adds up to enrich your life in some way.

And as much as I love my TFs that are tucked away in a sun-less closet to protect them from children (lol), they alone can't give me continued satisfaction -- I like posing them for pics to share. ;)
