I too love the colors on Zetar. He is definitely the better of the 2. The colors are awesome and the drill head/attachment is wonderful. I love the Brunt mold and he is a great reuse of it. He is really well painted too.

This is my first time with the Chromia mold too, and it is OK? The black is wonderful, and the silver is great, but the mold is bland. The paint is great, but it only somewhat overcomes the fact that the mold is not really that good and kinda clunky, and her legs are also a bit loose. she's not bad, but Zetar is definitely leagues better

Found Ratchet, Hightower, and Drift at Target, and then finished the set at walmart. And with that, Cyberverse and Studio Series are caught up until the new year!

So, Let's talk some Dropkick.

This was a character i really enjoyed in the movie. I would argue he was my favorite of the 3 cons in the movie, even though all 3 were really cool and i loved all 3. I also love muscle cars, and his general Body-type. He deserved a good toy.

His first Studio self is pretty weak, the wrong color, skinny, and just feels too small. And then Shatter let us all down by literally coming to pieces like she did when smashed by a boat.

But this Dropkick. This is where the Bee movie cast in Studio Series was finally redeemed. He is nearly flawless. The only complaint I have, right out of the way now, is his doors needed to reverse so they could be movie accurate. But otherwise he is fantastic.

His robot mode is tight, streamlined, no extraneous kibble, the wheels end up in the spots they are supposed to, and he looks mean. Weapon is perfect as well, love the integration into robot mode. And the headsculpt is much better and more defined than his other toy.

Transformation is pretty dang involved, but it has some good tricks to it to ensure the wheels go where they are supposed to. I love how it all works.

Alt mode is so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Finally a great robot that has a great transformation and a great muscle car mode. He does what Shatter and Bumblebee were unable to do properly, and he nails it. I love the wheels too, they really cool.

Overall, he is frikkin fantastic. Probably my 2nd favorite con of the line after Rampage. And he is certainly the classic muscle car transformer we have all longed for and needed.

Cool!

Get him man, he is a worthy figure, a really good one that hits all the right buttons.

Let's talk Drift then.

So i was not going to get Drift. He was going to be a pass. i have 3 Drift figures already, and I wasn't a fan of the Dropkick helicopter (dang, Dropkick was involved with this wave a lot), so it was going to be a pass.

But I've heard some good stuff this week, so when i saw him at Target, i picked him up. And I am happy i did.

Robot mode is the best Drift has ever looked in a toy, and he is sturdier than his other figures too. His swords store in a nice way, and the samurai armor looks great.

I have loved Drift's design since it was unveiled because I love the samurai look. And seeing that basically get a perfect robot mode is fantastic. And it doesn't affect the alt mode either. The helicopter mode is fantastic! it's so much bigger than Dropkick, it's sleeker, it's awesome in black, and the rotors spin freely. Both bot and copter mode are so much better than the original, and the transformation scares me a lot less.

This is a great figure, all 3 deluxes in the wave are brilliant. And it's amazing that they took a mediocre mold and turned it into such a stunner

Drift's helicopter mode looks great, so does his bot honestly. Not a fan of his Bond villain Golden Face though. I need a bunch of generations styled heads to pop on the movie bots. 8-}

Yeah, that would be interesting. i think this mold lends itself in either form to generations styled heads, though they would need some smaller heads

I was on the fence on that Drop Kick, but I might have to pull the trigger so Bee and Prime have a chump to kick around.

totally do it Cobs, he's a pretty good figure for a $20. He's good in every way!

Up next for "constructicon criticism", we have the next 2 Studio Constructicons.

Hightower is so weird, like the sub-humanoid/T-Rex puppy pet, but he is still really cool. His legs can move so much, he can pose just about how you want him to. His head sculpt is really cool, and he feels good in hand. He makes a great partner for Scrapmetal. Transformation is fairly straightforward, but it's still good and he makes a great crane. And he and Scrapmetal form a pretty mean looking claw arm.

Long Haul is so chunky and large, it's great. His robot mode is literally his alt mode, he looks so putupon and heavy. The posability is a little lacking, but he can still pull off some good moves. Transformation is pretty simple, and alt mode is alright. The arms in the bed is a little egregious, but it's still not bad. He forms a pretty mean foot too.

So overall, not too bad for these guys. Rampage is still the best, but I think Hightower is now my 2nd favorite of the team.

Also interesting to note: these figures are being released 2 at a time over 4 waves. Each wave has constructicons in 2 different size classes, and each wave has 1 humanoid and 1 unique design for the robot modes too. I love this approach.

And the final Studio guy of the wave: Optimus Prime.

This one is a bit unique compared to the other 4, and even most of the rest of the line.

You see, when Dark of the Moon came out, I loved the Optimus from that film: he had flight tech, an axe, an arsenal trailer, and he looked great. And the Optimus that took down Megatron and Sentinel was the most badass moment from the films for me. One-armed Prime with his axe.

And then the movie toy came out, and it was awesome as an armored not even remotely accurate toy, and i still love it. But I wanted a trailer that became an arsenal and could form his flight tech. So this toy is basically one of those special dreams that i hoped would come true someday and didn't right away.

So that plays a big part in this figure for me. The base figure is really good, but the trailer is a bit bland. It desperately needs paint, as do the weapons, and the jetpack has the hollow part forward, which is terrible looking. But despite the flaws of the trailer, it is what i have always wanted, and it fulfills that dream pretty dang well despite the flaws. He's not the best, but he really matters to me.

So here he is, alongside Angel Armor Optimus Prime. And both are valid for Dark of the Moon Prime, since both use the trailer completely differently.

Nope, the chest in alt mode ends up unchanged under the back of the truck.

Funny thing is, I think he is the weakest of the 4 so far. But if you do go down that rabbit hole, it's a rabbit hole that you can only go down slowly right now, 2 every 3-6 months is a good rate.

Very astute considering you barely know me.

Drift looks really cool, might have to nab him at some point. Movie toys have been kinda slow in my area. Just saw Long Haul and KSI Boss the other day. I spotted a Rampage as well, haven't seen one in a while and wondered if he was a case mate.

Movie figures are not my thing, so I try and limit it to the really fun ones. Still want replacement heads for most of them though.

I do remember they aren't your thing, but I think Drift and Dropkick both work good by themselves. Drift in particular has a very nice alt mode.

We only just got this wave too, so you're not moving too slow yet!

And now, for my dream from 8 years ago that finally came true;

I don't mind having a few one-off figures here and there.

That's the latest leader class Prime right? Looks badass cool. Did any other trailers do that (looks familiar) or am I thinking of 3P?
