Omega really is the only choice here. The fandom has been clamoring for his return, so i'll bet anything it's Omega!

I'd rather see Romana, Leela, Susan Foreman or Ace come back, myself.

Yes.

The only info on the woman from End of Time is she's the Doctor's mother, and Ace is only 'dead' in a novel... and alive in others, IIRC.

Until I see a body on the screen, they're not dead.

Although the Doc's mother? Come on! There's a metric ton of better options than that!

More "interesting" or fanwanky opinions perhaps, but none that match the scant clues as well, really. It's also practically stated on the DVD commentary.

'course, if it is (on-screen) revealed as the Doctor's Mother, that would answer some questions about Lungbarrow... but raise others.

I must warn, this post may contain spoilers for those yet to see "A Christmas Carol"...

So I got the torrent of The Christmas Carol and watched it whilst eating my Christmas turkey loaf and certain aspects of the plot reminded me of a short story I remembered reading with the 7th Doctor. I did a little bit of research, and sure enough...Decalog 3 published in 1996 featured the short story I was reminded of called "Continuity Errors", and guess who the writer was, none other than the great Steven Moffat himself in his first professional writing for Doctor Who. The main part of the story features changes to the demeanor of a librarian as the Doctor changes major events of her past to be able to borrow a restricted library book. Also of note is that the library in question takes up an entire planet. (Remind you of any other Moffat stories?) If you're lucky enough to have a copy of Decalog 3, go back and reread that one or it's also online: http://timelord50data.cz.cc/Documents/C ... Moffat.pdf

It certainly had this effect on me... :BOOM:

But was it any good?

I'm not downloading *shockhorror* because it's getting "fasttracked" to tonight. So I may as well do the right thing and watch it on tv instead of being the good little pirate that I am.

Yes, it was good. We're getting it on BBC America in about 80 minutes as the capper to "The Doctor Who Stole Christmas Marathon", but my VCR ain't working (but after 22 years of use, got it for Christmas when I was 10, that's not entirely surprising).

Trying to figure the logic on some of the choices on the marathon, "The Shakespeare Code"? Great episode, but not really Christmasy. The same for "Tooth and Claw" and "The Girl in the Fireplace". Interestingly, part of "The Shakespeare Code" was preempted for The Queen's Speech.

Not only are they fasttracking the Christmas special, but they even brought us DW @ The Proms!

Bloody awesome concert, would have loved to have been there for it, hell, I would have loved to have been in the orchestra!

Not being written by RTD = Great.

I quite liked that episode, and whoever sang that song had a wonderful voice.

Katherine Jenkins who played Abigail was the singer and according to an interview was approached for the part specifically because of the singing.

It was okay. I think my problem now is i'm still not convinced by Matt Smith as The Doctor.

I had the same issue with Tennant's Doctor, I wasn't really convinced of him as the Doctor until "Evolution of the Daleks", but I found Smith convincing as The Doctor round about the fish custard scene.

I guess all Doctors take some getting used to, I started watching in 1986 so my first Doctor to have trouble getting used to was McCoy, took until "Remembrance of the Daleks" to really feel convinced of him as the Doctor.

I'm excited about it. It was actually filmed in America with the main cast as opposed to the New York scenes of Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks in which only the 2nd unit went to get footage to blue screen behind the cast, making it a Doctor Who first. Also, it's supposed to be in the first 2 episodes of the new season.
