That scene was one of the reasons I bought the DVD for Remembrance.

Fun fact: during one take, Sophie Aldred did that to one of the actual Dalek props, not a stunt version.

Oh, yeah. :) On the DVD commentary, Sophie mentioned that.

Gotta say, the problem solving in this one was a bit anticlimactic on the Doctor's part... I mean, stopping the storm generator with a toggle switch? Nothing more dramatic? I'ts like "I've gotta stop this! OH! How conveniently placed!" Loved that bit at the end, though. It seems The silence is catching up to them.

I only watch BBC America's episodes, so I'm only on the first Weeping Angels episode from the new season. So, forgive me for my bluntness... but does anyone else besides me wanna bury a pickaxe in River Song's skull?

 No...

Smarmy, Mary-Suish annoyances make me angry. My favorite Who characters were/are Sarah Jane, Leela, Ace, Romana... hardly what I'd call 'weak women'. River was just annoying, full of herself and just... urgh.

Yeah, it was rather anticlimactic.. I am interested to see how things pan out now too..

It might have been anti-climactic, but at least it was also anti-cliche. Many moments seem recycled from ealier seasons (but then again, earlier seasons often seemed recycled from classic Doctor Who.) Was he going to hit the device with a cricket bat, use his sonic screwdriver, cut the blue wire? It was fun to see the problem solved so simply, and the solution looking so mundane in a contraption so fantastic.

There seems to be a definite attitude in this production that going over old ground is going to be inevitable, so you might as well choose good ground to recover and have fun doing it.

Next week's episode looks like a blast. It's been quite awhile since we've seen anyone have quite the upper hand like that with The Doctor.

OK, having seen "Flesh and Stone" over the weekend, I can't help but point something out:

The Doctor mentions that the time explosion that caused the "cracks in the universe" occurs on June 26th, 2010. Isn't it a real coincidence that date also happens to be the date the final episode of the series airs?

Coincidence? No. Not really.

Flash Forward would have done a similar thing if ABC hadn't given them a mid-season break.

I found it harsh, and rather surprising actually, but I think he be resored in the season finale.

Good episode though, I'm really enjoying this season overall.

Felt to me like they were trying to recreate the emotion of Adrics death.

And goddamn did those Silurians look like Jem'Hadar from Star Trek. Far different from their original look.

It made me realise what I don't like about this new series, too much budget.
