Gotta say, the problem solving in this one was a bit anticlimactic on the Doctor's part... I mean, stopping the storm generator with a toggle switch? Nothing more dramatic? I'ts like "I've gotta stop this! OH! How conveniently placed!" Loved that bit at the end, though. It seems The silence is catching up to them.
It might have been anti-climactic, but at least it was also anti-cliche. Many moments seem recycled from ealier seasons (but then again, earlier seasons often seemed recycled from classic Doctor Who.) Was he going to hit the device with a cricket bat, use his sonic screwdriver, cut the blue wire? It was fun to see the problem solved so simply, and the solution looking so mundane in a contraption so fantastic.
There seems to be a definite attitude in this production that going over old ground is going to be inevitable, so you might as well choose good ground to recover and have fun doing it.
Next week's episode looks like a blast. It's been quite awhile since we've seen anyone have quite the upper hand like that with The Doctor.
