The Energon Pub

This is the custom built wiki for HMW. It was commissioned to document the game as it stood and act as an information depository for general HMW based stuff, be it fan-fiction, pictures or information of the how the actual game works.

As you can see I've started on it and have the basics of the game written up for you, but its missing stuff.
A lot of stuff. Tons of stuff.

This is where you guys come in. Evolution Prime has agreed to keep an eye on it and be the admin for the wiki for us, as those of you with any knowledge of the game will know there is so much to this game that we could never fully complete a project like this, but I want you guys to get involved - add your team and bio's, any pictures you have created of your team or if you have been here a while have a go at fleshing out how the stats/tactics work, just make up a bunch of stories based on the missions you win or add in your clans if you are members of them...

The only rule is that EP has the final say if there is any disputes, and if you do not respect his decisions then you will have to answer to us, the game mods.

It is open and available to all, now go forth and fill it full of HMW goodness...

Oh I'm around. The nuclear power plant I work at recently (end of September to beginning of November) went through a refueling outage and I had to work 12 hour days. Then like Psychout said, I got married on November 14th and went on a bit of vacation after that. Since then I've been trying to spend some time with the wife and of course holidays, my birthday and such.

So back to business. Yes, I am the admin to the HMW wiki. That doesn't mean I am writing the whole thing, though. This is where everyone else comes in. Since this is everyone's game, the HMW Wiki will belong to everyone. That means anyone can add things and anyone can change things. You can even submit some wiki code to enhance it. All I ask is that if you add something, shoot me a PM so I can have a look at it. I will also be working behind the scenes to add things and try and make things look better and organizing it. Pictures and art work can also be submitted to be added to the wiki. Everything has to be HMW related though. HMW related fanfics will also be allowed. I will be fairly lenient on what I will allow but remember this is a PG-13 site so I expect submittals to be kept that way. If will change minor things, but if I think it is too much, then I will delete the whole thing and ask you to resubmit it, citing what needs to be changed.

This where I ask for volunteers for some special submittals. What I need is for some people to write a history of HMWv1. This doesn't have to be just one person. It can be split up into multiple people writing sections of it. HMW veterans would be idea to write it since they would have the most knowledge of what has happened up to now. I just ask that you be unbiased in your writing.

Another project I would like to see is weapon descriptions. This is where you can use your imagination and come up with what you think each weapon does and maybe what it looks like, for those of you who are artistically talented.

Of course you can post your teams profile along with each individual Transformer's profile. Pictures will be allowed, but remember the PG-13 rule. I will delete any picture that can be seen as offensive.

I will keep this thread updated if I have any new enhancements to the wiki. I ask you to keep this updated if you add any major item to the wiki. A simple link will do just fine.

Quick question, is anyone already moving the pages from the 'other wiki' to this one or do we all take care of our own pages?

That entirely up to Eeep. If he (or you) wants to take the pages from the Wikia then he is more than welcome to do so.

Then I'll wait to hear from EeeP as I'm it will look better if he does do it than if I was to try.

Luckily most of my pages just need a data swap, as only one of my characters honestly needs a large edit at this time.

Congrats on the marriage EP Nov 14 is a good day, I married my misses many years ago on that day.

Something I forgot to mention, Dead Metal is the core admin for the entire wiki, as eventually it will cross the entire site and not just HMW. If he tells you to do something there, please do it.

I'll second this. Plus throw out a question. I know that we Maximals and Predacons are being re-integrated in with the Bots and Cons, but on our team pages, are we allowed to label them as Maximals and Predacons? I ask because regardless of going back to the Bots, my team is and always will be Maximals in whatever stories/bios i write up.

If you want to make them Maximal or Predicon, that is fine by me. You are just fighting here under the Autobot or Deception banner here. I see no reason to prohibit your teams from those two factions if you want to role play them as such.

Once you get the hang of it its as easily and simple as forum code, but is mostly trial and error. (It also accepts HTML). Other wiki user guides are good to start with, and the best user guide I've found is on the Urban dead wiki and the UD one is especially good for us as both are hosted by Wikimedia. Have a read here, it will help until we can get our own version up.

In answer to Burn:
1) Make a user account. Not actually required but its much easier for EP and DM to track who's editing what.

2) Type your team name into the search bar. (e.g. for Burn; 'Rejected Reality')
It will throw up this message saying 'There is no page titled "Rejected Reality". You can create this page.' Click the red writing which will create the page and just start typing. Select the 'watch this page' checkbox and save. To edit it at any point, open the page and select the edit tab, and use the 'my watchlist' function to see if anyone has changed anything.

Please be sure that on every page you create you add this at the bottom: [[Category:HMW]] and also either [[Category:HMW Team]] or [[Category:HMW Character]] tags if relevant. This is so that people can find your articles to read them.

Go and have fun! That thing is massive and asthere is no real storage limit, there is no limit to what you can add once you learn how.

Another tip: If you see another page that has formatting/layout you like the look of (even if its on another wiki) it is common and accepted practice to copy it and use it yourself as long as you give the original author props and add a link.


Eeep; is it possible you could throw up a basic formatting on the wiki and link to it here?
