This is the thread to talk about NON-TRANSFORMER RELATED game moments. This is to talk about totally amazing video game moments. Kill a giant monster in one melee attack? Tell us! Blow up 30 enemies with one grenade? Tell all!

I was playing Uncharted 2 on multiplayer, when i got a headshot with a Dragon Sniper... while Running and gunning. VERY SLIM CHANCES!!! And right after that, i shot the game leader in the face with an SAS. Awwww Yeeeeah...

In Borderlands, particularly the Secret Armory of General Knoxx, there's a part (non cutscene) where you hear a loud *bang* in the distance. Then you see a Crimson Lance Drop-pod, shooting up in the air in the distance. Then it flies closer, and closer...and then lands RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR FREAKING FACE. Like, if you took two steps to the left, it probably would have hit you. Come to think of it, I should test to see what happens. Might make a good prank, convince friends of mine to stand there then...heheh...

EDIT: Or if you're talking about personal "uber-skill" moments: In FEAR Extraction Point, I could hear enemies in another room. So, I dropped a proximity mine near the door, ran to the other side, then fired my shotgun into the ceiling. When they come to check out the noise--boom.

An oldie but a goodie: I loved Duke Nukem 3D's deathmatches. Duke might not have been as graceful as Quake... or as pretty... or as customizable... or as easy to set up... but when you got in, it was 10 times the fun. When I was a little Duke runt, I'd play against people way better than me, and the adrenaline was always high when they found out your hiding spot and nuked you with one or two RPG blasts. Like being discovered by Jason Voorhees. A shock because you knew it was coming, but maybe... just maybe... it wasn't.

Speaking of Borderlands, soloing Crawmerax for the first time gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. I was kind of pissed that he didn't drop anything worthwhile.

This. This, a million damn times. And even if he doesn't drop any really nice loot, you can still sell it off and make a boatload of cash.

Sly 3 Fighting General Tsao (a chicken) on top of bamboo sticks while floating through mid air! That's my favorite thing ever in a video game, and one of the many reasons why this is my favorite game...EVAR!

Another Uncharted 2 moment in story mode. There's a point where you're fighting snipers in the monastery, and you have an RPG. If you hit the middle building just right... it collapses into the other one. Like dominoes. They are giant towers, so it's damn spectacular. Of course, the final chapter is an outrageously insane RUN FOR YOUR FREAKING LIFE super sprint across a collapsing Shamballa. Epic.

Defeating Ozma in Final Fantasy IX. There's no cheating against this thing like Emerald\Ruby Weapon or Omega (FFVII&FFVIII), and the pure joy of killing Ozma is unrivaled.

The opening sequence of Final Fantasy VII.

The first time you fight the Cyber Demon in Doom 1.

The opening to the first world in Mario64. That combination of the music and the first view of the level, with that mountain lets you know - this will be epic.

Any game music by Jun Senoue. He is a f*cking master.

Any game music by Koichi Sugiyama. Always sets the tone perfectly and just makes the scene.

The revelation of what happened to Darth Revan in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic that was a 'HOLY @#$!' moment.

The Death of Aries in Final Fantasy VII and killing the Emerald Weapon too was sweet.

Everything in Mass Effect 2 after hitting the Omega 4 Relay, specifically if you fully upgraded the ship, and you make the right choices so that no one gets killed. ME3 will have to be even more epic, what with having to deal with the Reaper Invasion.

God I hate the Scions from Mass Effect 2. They're the only thing keeping me from beating the game on insanity mode.

I'd suggest AP Rounds and a good long-range weapon (Basically anything but Shotgun or Pistol) but on Insanity? I dunno.

Its just the fact that their biotics travel straight through whatever you're hiding behind and still damage you. When you get multiple of those fired at you plus every other enemy during that final battle out for your head it turns from fun to frustration really quick.

I once single handedly won a battle in World of Warcraft. To win the battle we had to hold a fort for 30 minutes, and destroying the enemies towers would reduce that time by 10 minutes. We had 9:30ish to go and they were in the fort at the keep door, if they got in there they would win. In a desperate bid I head over to their last remaining tower and throw a bomb at it. That was all it took, the tower came down and we won.

I hate those too. The best weapon to use is a sniper rifle with armor piercing ammo. Preferably that one you get from the collector ship, if not then use the first one they give you.

I used the Viper. Not quite as powerful but the 12-round clip means I don't have to get back behind cover after each shot. Goes great with Adrenaline Rush.
