I'm trying to come up with a list of what I believe to be the most show-accurate toy versions of the Beast Wars characters. These include their physical appearances in both modes, sizes compared to other characters' toys, and correct color scheme, among others features.

However, there are some characters that I cannot figure out which toy is the most show-accurate version of that character.

Here is the list of the ones I've thought of thus far.

The later versions. The initial shipments (and versus sets for that matter) were identical to Hasbro's, but second-year shipments saw the "show-accurate" redecos which were a hit and miss, really.

It's worth noting that Telemocha Waspitor has an assembly error: the crotch piece is front to back.

It's still in the right colors, though.

Both 10th Anniv. Rhinox and Telemocha Rhinox have their shoulders backwards, but they're still colored right (or rather, the Telemocha one is, the 10th Anniv. one is the second-most show-accurate Rhinox figure).

I see, I still don't know why Hasbro didn't release the Beast Wars Ravage, seems to be a pretty important character on the cartoon yet he doesn't get a fig in US. :-?

I'm not sure if it counts, but the TFCC Airazor is probably the most show accurate Airazor IMO. I know it's a cybertronian mode, but the BW Airazor was just so horribly show inaccurate that I use TFCC Airazor in my BW lineup.

Maybe because he was released after Hasbro ended the Transmetals line? Remember, Japan was 1 to 2 years behind on toy releases, no thanks to waiting on the dubbing of Seasons 2 and 3.

You see, to make a complete series in Japan, regularly aired shows must have at least 26 episodes, and seasons 2 and 3 combined just meet that criteria.

Really? The TFCC has a bird's head on it's chest? Slender legs? Colors that are closer to the show than video airrazor?

IMO, the only thing the TFCC has over video airrazor is the head, nothing else. If you disagree on this, could you please enlighten me on what other details the TFCC has that makes it closer to the show than the Video Airrazor toy.

This isn't about buying the most show-accurate toys, this is about listing them.

XD. It's one in the same is it not? What's the point of a toy list if you aren't planning to buy all of it in the end?

Perhaps it is due to a curiosity I have to know just which figures are the most show-accurate?

Besides, some of these I already own (particularly the Hasbro ones).

ROTF Prime is right up there in the "others" list. A real bitch to transform, but he's at least 85 to 90% accurate, perfect if not for the wheels, and the rear wheel covers which were conveniently omitted from his movie CG's bot mode.

And there's ROTF Sideswipe.

MP Starscream is IMO at least equal to the Henkei one. Despite the stabilizer kibble on his waist, MP's much more proportionate than Henkei.

Last but not least, ML Soundwave and Soundblaster (black and purple version). Even without the mp3 functionality, it's as good as it gets for a G1 upgrade. Almost like an unofficial mini Masterpiece Soundwave. Pity you can't put all those TF micro cassettes into his chest, though.

Sorry if I can't offer any help on the BW department. Watched the show and loved it, but never bought any of the toys.

What on Earth are you talking about!? Did you forget this is for those who appeared in Beast Wars? No ROTF characters belong in any part of this list.

MP Starscream wouldn't work because it represents a "solid" Starscream, as opposed to his ghost, who did appear in Beast Wars. And I chose the Henkei one because, when the ghost is briefly seen (outside of the flashback), it's the same size as Waspinator, whom it's possessing. And the Henkei Screamer figure is closer to Waspy in size than the MP version.

And Soundwave has no MP figure, so his ML figure is too inaccurate size-wise to work with the Beast Wars characters. And while his stasis-locked body did appear briefly in "The Agenda, Part III", it was only in the background. The only two G1 characters that the Beast Warriors interacted with were Optimus Prime and Megatron, hence the inclusion of their Masterpiece figures.

And Soundblaster? Seriously! You can't have him included with Soundwave at the same time! They're the same person.

Though I never owned any of the Japanese Beast Wars toys except for Burning Convoy (not Robotmasters). I did own several BW Metals toys. Optimus Primal had more purple than the Hasbro version, and instead of having "Optimus Primal" engraved on the metal, he had "Cyebertron" on the Metals version. Megatron had more black. On both toys the vacuumized metal was a different tint. Most of the Metals toys were show accurate.

One of them you should get is Metals Rampage. Less orange and more silver with a darker more burgundy tint where the red should be.
The only two I would definetly say to get in the Hasbro line are Depthcharge and Blackaracnia. Depthcharge is exactly the same as the Metal version, and Hasbro Blackaracnia has the removable bra thingy at the chest, while the Metals version doesn't.

There is a Lucky Draw version of the FOX Kids colors for Airazor and Rhinox.

For the most part the Takara BW toys are almost identical. There a few minor changes here and there. The only one I ever went after from the first Takara BW line was Tigatron because he was show accurate, not light mustard yellow for the Hasbro version.

Regarding the pre-Transmetal figure, this is partially true. Initial shipments featured figures that were almost identical to the Hasbro ones, but later shipments of the same figures featured new, more show-accurate paint apps (with some exceptions).

In the cases of those listed, Rattle featured a copper face instead of gray, Scorpos became charcoal gray instead of black, and Terrorsaurer had a yellow beak (instead of red) and more red paint to replace his unneeded blue paint.

And what's more, D-40 Metals Megatron does not suffer from "Brown Plastic Syndrome"! :APPLAUSE:

G1 didn't air in the same way it aired here when it aired in Japan. In Japan, Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers consisted of episodes from season 1 and 2 as one series. Many episodes were reordered completely, but the most notable reorder was taking "The Ultimate Doom Parts 1-3" and putting it at the very end of the series, using it as a three part series finale called "Day of Distruction Parts 1-3". This messed up the placement of "Countdown to Extinction" (which is set immediately after "The Ultimate Doom") by having it air way before these three episodes.

On the other hand, The Ultimate Doom would've made a way better finale than B.O.T.

Chill, dude. The fact is, I misread the post, thinking that by "others" you meant any other TF at all. My bad

BTW, I didn't mean that Soundwave actually has an MP fig, just that if there ever would be one, ML Soundwave could be it.

I going to get blasted for this but the most accurate non-TransMetal Blackarachnia is from Animated. Painting a Tarantulas black with an hourglass on his ass isn't a Blackarachnia on either side of the Pacific.

And from Beast Machines (Beast Wars overlooked stepbrother series) Savage/Noble is by far the best figure of the line. %100 organic Transformers need love, too!

Nope. Aminated Blackaracnia looks more like the original BW show anayday. My friend bought Savage/Noble because he was a real big fan of Beast Machines and how accurate the toy was.

When I bought beast wars, it wasn't until Transmetals and Transmetals 2. When Beast Wars the Second came out, was when I began to get my hands on the Japanese BW toys and I really wanted the Burning Convoy becuase of the BWII movie.
I got BW Metals because they were on sale form the place I got my BWII and Neo toys from. They were almost dirt cheap back in 2000.

Except that pre-transmetal Blackarachnia has zero purple on her body.

The Beast Wars Returns version is slightly more show-accurate.

And essentially a Tarantulas in a dress is more show accurate? How so? A single color verses the wrong species and gender.

Well, I'm going to have to disagree with you and I have both. More purple than blue and a pink nose does not a show accurate toy make. :-B

Are you going by pictures you've seen on the internet or have you actually seen the figures? You just seem to be saying the latest Takara version is show accurate despite looking nothing like the show. Just because they cost $30 more doesn't make them superior!
