Greetings fellow seibertronians!

Long time transformers fan here, newly registered user. I used to come here way back in the day to play the simulation game but never pooked at the boards until I recently rediscovered my love for all things transformers!

Here is my transformers story:
I was first introduced to transformers when I was 5. My uncles passed down some of their toys and I eas hooked. They were mostly small bots that I no longer own or can even remember the names of. The only ones I remember are the grasshopper insecticon and the McDonald's cheeseburger who i still own (cheeseburgertron is what I call him).

For my 6th birthday I got bw terrersaur and rattrap. Then for christmas I got ultra optimus primal. My brothers weren't into transformers like I was until I had quite the collection of bw toys. Eventually between the 3 of us we had a massive collection by a kid's standards.

Once beast machines started my brothers fell off but I continued collecting although at that point my main interested shifted to dbz and wrestling toys. I still bought bots all the way into energon. At that point I was 14-15 and my interest vastly changed lol.

Anyways, at that point I stopped buying toys altogether; although I did watch the movies and thought they were great (probably my 2nd favorite movies behind star wars).

Then, earlier this year I watched dotm and I had the sudden urge to buy a transformer. Idk why because the only transformers I owned at that point were transmetal optimus, armada wheeljack, armada thundercracker, armarda demolisher,and energon starscream.

I went to walmart and saw tr alpha trion. In fact he was the only one they had other than some of the smaller rid toys. Alpha trion reignited my love for transformers and since that time.only a few months ago I have bought quite a few transformers. Safe to say im hooked once again.

From tr I have picked up alpha t, megs, twinferno, skullcrusher, mindwipe, hardhead, and astro train. Other instore purchases include rid windblade, tlk voyaget optimus and barricade.

I got aoe slog, sharkticon megatron, bm dinotron, and bm triceradon from transformerland for a decent price

However, the best deals have come from flee markets. I found:
Dotm voyager sentinel: $2
Transmetal 2 prowl: $1.50
Transmetal 2 dinobot: $1.50
Dotm deluxe bee: $2
G1 broadside: $2

I also bought a few of the mars converters with the intent of customizing. I used to make custom dbz toys so not that much of a stretch and for $10 you get a decent toy.

Anyways, sorry for the long post but I'm.just so excited to finally rediscover my first passion as a toy collector. Also I have been putting beast wars and armada on for my soon to be 2 yr old son to watch. He already plays with the McDonald's toys and I plan to buy him at least one rescue bot for his bday. Suggestions for his first "real" transformer are welcome and appreciated!

Welcome to Seibertron! Nice to meetcha. Thought you meant a real cheese burger and then it dawned on me. Eat the food, collect the toy - not the other way round haha.

I like wrestling toys myself, I have a collection going.

Lol cheeseburgertron is still cool to this day.

My wrestling collection consisted of mostly the toybiz wcw toys. That nitro ring was probably my favorite toy back then, the one with the soft center and sound effects with the rafters and walkway. Sadly, I gave all my wrestling toys to my cousin when he came over because he kept asking me if he could have stuff and those were the only thing I was willing to let go at the time.

Also, how to I get stats under my name? Went to cp but didn't see anything.

That's a bummer. I am a newer fan so I only have a handful of mattel figures. TF's usually come first of course.

Got any favorite wrestlers? Undertaker is my all time favorite. I also like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Honestly the benoit incident is what killed wrestling for me. He was my favorite

Undertaker was always cool even in his biker days. Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, legend killer Randy Orton, Foley, the Rock, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Sting, and Triple H were also favorites. And who could forget Eric Bischoffs nephew Eugene and screaming Norman Smiley??!

Edit: how did I forget Macho Man??? He was my favorite when I first started watching but he retired soon after

He was an artist in his craft for sure. I haven't been able to watch his dvd since though. Lots of great matches especially the triple threat from wrestlemanie 20. He was slated to win the new ecw belt the week the incident happened. So sad. He wasn't the greatest talker but he had the moves. The crossface, the triple german suplexes, the diving headbutt, the sharpshooter given to him by the great Brett Hart.

A HUGE part of my childhood died when the details came out.

I knowits a touchy subject but that match between him Hhh and Shawn Michaels is legendary. The man had so many great matches but hate what he did. A huge part of my chilhood died that day.

High everybody!
I have constantly been lurking the boards on this site ever since i started collecting transformers. This would be about the time Combiner Wars just started. Grabbing the whole first wave with generations Trailbreaker. The articulation of the new line blew my mind. So I went on to collect as much of the g1 characters for a CHUG collection. I hope to be able to put my collection up in the collection showcase area as soon as I can.
Way back as a kid I loved watching the cartoons and the first few transformers I got where from my Dad a japanese Overdrive who I thought was Sideswipe for years til my late teens and from my Grandpa : G1 Optimus Prime, PowerMaster Optimus Prime and my favourite character as a kid Jazz (It broke my heart that he was an Action Master). The next few years I got Star Saber, Predaking set and Dai Atlas set with his two buddies and three mini cons.
I have previously collected the GIJoe vs Cobra Lines and the Anniversary GIJoe line. Completing the Former and having around 90 percent of the latter before I stopped. Also delving on Marvel Legends, Sota Toys Street Fighter and Final Fantasy 7 figures.
On the more recent I have gone crazy with two more collections the transformers masterpiece line (concentrating on post MP10 products)and Diaclone Reboot.

Hi everybot. I'm new here. I grew up loving Transformers since I was a little kid...now I'm 30 omg. I recently started collecting Transformers stuff again. When I was a kid I had several from Beast Wars. Now I have some newer ones including mini big-head Starscream and Bumblebee, Titans Return Hot Rod, Autobots Unite Wal-Mart exclusive Hot Rod, and The Last Knight Premier Edition Leader Class Optimus Prime. I have a G1 Starscream t-shirt on the way, I own every single movie including the original 20th Anniversary Edition, and I have the game TF Devestation on my PS4. I have my eyes set now on the new Toys Alliance Megatron coming in December and I drool over having the Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream one of these days. I also play TF Earth Wars.my username is Starscream and I have a Decepticon Alliance called Death Seekers, in case anyone is interested. I am a big RPer. Been RPing since 2001...so the forum RP here seems appealing but I need to read a lot more. I read several of the new apps.

**Grimlock262 steps up to the microphone...**

Hi everyone, my name is Grimlock262...and I am a transformerholic. I was born in the 70s and was immediately hooked on transformers when I saw the first episode of the cartoon in 1984, shortly before my 7th birthday. I devoured every episode I could catch and I loved the movie. I didn't have a ton of the toys as a kid due to the cost but I played with them until they fell apart. Then I became a teenager and sadly forgot about all the fun I had with my toys and decided I needed to grow up and work towards being an adult.

Fast forward to roughly 3 months ago, shortly after turning 40. I had been in a funk for a few years, struggling with depression. Of course I love my wife and kids, I actually love my job, but neither of those were helping me get over the chemical imbalances in my brain despite the best efforts of my doctor to find the right medicine. Then he suggested something radical, he asked me to reach back into my child hood and think about something that truly made me happy and I immediately went to Transformers. He told me that latching onto that and rekindling it could help and boy did it ever! Thankfully I have a good job so I was able to quickly jump into collecting. Given my personality I didn't just dip my toe in, I jumped into the deep end without hesitation. I started scouring EBay for G1 toys, I started reading sites such as this one for news and the forums, I looked at Reddit to find good places to buy toys which led me to also discover 3rd party toys. Fast forward to today and I just recently completed the full Titans Return line, a portion of combiner wars and unite warriors, have a decent number of G1 characters and a considerably number of 3rd party releases.

Collecting and not just displaying but playing with the toys has truly helped get me over that bump in the road. Now I just need to work on building more shelving to have a way to display all my figures!

For anyone interested I have started tracking my figures in a google sheet, currently a work in progress as I haven't finished populating the third party manufacturers that I have figures for or on order from.

I am certainly blessed with a great job as is my wife, but I must admit I probably went a bit overboard this christmas in how much I spent...my best guess is around $12,000 on figures. My quarterly bonus covered a decent amount of that and will have another one in march to pay off a good chunk of the rest that I put onto a rewards card I have that gives me money back into a state college fund.

Unfortunately when I do something I tend to go all in which can be a bad thing if I am not careful. I have slowed down my buying now, although part of that is I need to build more shelving as I am already out of space in a major way. Some of the third party stuff is way larger than I expected.

I went through something similar nearly 20 years ago. I slipped into depression following the death of my grandmother (and the realisation of my own mortality). I sought help, but in a small rural town there wasn't much to be had. So one day I just happened to be browsing E-Bay and I came across G1 Grimlock and Rodimus Prime. Neither were complete, but it triggered something in my head, memories of a simpler happier time, and that I never got them as a kid!

Those two lead to more ... Beast Wars had ended, Beast Machines was in its swansong, so I had a bit of catching up to do and did I catch up! :lol:

Thanks for sharing your story, I know a lot of people dismiss depression with a "oh get over it already you baby" attitude, but anyone who's been through it will know it's not that simple, and that everyone has to deal with it in their own unique way.

If you ever need to talk or vent, go right ahead and start a thread, every little thing helps.

Always a good opener I find, in knowing company. Discovered the site by random chance and as I've recently got back into TF from an absence of a few years, I thought now and apt time to sign up. My name (as spoken in the voice of the great Victor Caroli) a nod to how far back I go with Transformers. All the way back to the beginning and while I did jump back into Transformers when IDW first launched their own series several years ago now, I fell out of love with that with the launch of the duel series (then) RiD and MTMTE, which I didn't care for at all.

I was brought back very recently via the toys. More specifically, Hasbro/Takara said four words that instantly caught my attention: Beast Wars Masterpiece Collection. My all time favorite TF series is once more getting it's due and so I return. With two down and two more pre-ordered for this year already, it's once more an exciting time to be a BW (and TF in general fan). I look forward to joining you all.

Hello all,

Sitting here, waiting for the paint to dry on a TR Hot Rod repaint to dry, I felt the urge to finally take the plunge and join you all here on this awesome forum!

I must admit to having been a bit of a lurker for a while and it was viewing some of the amazing custom work by many people on this forum that inspired me to grab some paints and have a go myself, so I must say thank you for that (assuming it turns out alright and I havent just ruined a perfectly good figure

!

I have been a Transformers fan since the start, growing up on the cartoons and G1 toys and have been restocking my collection since all my originals were 'lost' by my family many years ago. Big fan of the Generations line and not adverse to a little bit of Beast Wars etc.

Anyway enough about me, I look forward to meeting you all on here!

No no, you've only ruined TR Hot Rod. :-P

But in all seriousness, regardless of how he turns out, share him on the boards. There's a few peeps around here who can offer some tips if you need them, plus you'll get featured in the Transtopia round-up.

The one tip I can offer though, hunt down a junker figure on E-Bay (or a garage sale, or a thrift shop), find something cheap, that way you can do whatever you want to them and you won't feel guilty for ruining a good figure and wasting money on it!

Many thanks, I will do! A few finishing touches needed, I haven't picked up a paintbrush in anger in around 20 years, and indeed this is the first time I have ever tried painting a Transformer, so it should be interesting!

Thats a good idea, I do try and scour the charity shops and such for bargains

Hey there everyone! I'm Silver or Amber, I'm 16, pansexual, and a girl. I'm sorta new to transformers but a friend of mine and a member of this site is trying to get me into them. I'm also an artist and i hope to have a good time on my time on this site.

Go buy a figure of your favorite Transformer and also if you haven't, start watching G1....and watch ALL the G1 parodies you can find. Most of them are good. You will get hooked and in a few months you'll have a quarter of 100 TF toys, not to mention all the movies, the games, and you might even start buying the comics. Welcome to my world. I love it and I aint goin back.
