my name is Daniel, I'm 37 years old & from Germany.
I've known seibertron.com for some years now and visited it from time to time, mostly to watch the unbelievably detailed galleries of the old 80's Transformers.
Normally, I'm a Masters of the Universe collector, but I still own my Transformers from my childhood. For example Devastator, which is my favorite next to Optimus Prime. Some days ago, I have pre-ordered the upcoming Combiner Wars Devastator because it looks sooo great! I'm really looking forward to place it next to my childhood Devastator.
Now I've joined this HUGE site because I wanted to ask a Transformers-related question in the forum (which I will do right away)

What's up, friendHope you enjoy your Devastator, it has been a long time coming; which version did you get?

I've looked around alot lately for where to start collecting, as i have no idea where to start, since theres so much cool ones around.
I really want to start with the MP-10 Optimus Prime, probably the 2nd run ko, but not sure where to buy one, or what to search. I've found this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TAKARA-TOMY ... SwcBhWW1lq
Is that the same version? No idea what the KO costs around ebay, as the price seems to vary alot, but this one seemed really cheap.
It doesnt really matters with which generation it is from for me, but for Optimus id probably want the g1 based MP, i guess im going for the MP line in the long run, but seeing the price i guess some will be reissues/g1

Welcome, 8bitpirate! You have asked one of the magical questions on where to start collecting. My advice on MP-10 is, first get it! (Many have suggested it to me as well, though I do not own him yet.) The ebay link you used does seem to be a bit cheap for a legit Takara MP-10. I'd try asking the question in the Unlicensed and KO Transformers Forum. There are some very knowledgeable members of Seibertron community that could probably help.
My other suggestion, as far as collecting goes, is to go after what you think is cool, for the price you'd like to pay. There is so much cool TF stuff that has come out over the last decade or so that the choices are numerous. Seibertron's galleries can also help showcase many transformers from over the years. (Truth be told that Seibs got me back into collecting Transformers back when the first Classics were coming out. His Botcon pics of Ironhide eventually led me to pick up Energon Towline.)
Again, welcome!!

Yeah, WELCOME![]()
Also, collect whatever you like that's out right now, lest you pay marked up prices later
I'd get at least one combiner

I originally got into The Transformers from the live-action movies, but since then I have learned more about transformers history and how it all started and I eventually I began to,and still do, like Generation 1 way more(especially the characters).
I have posted some stuff before if you want to check it out that would be great, if not doesn't matter.

Been collecting what I can with what money I have, but I did recently pick up CW Defensor, (I found 1 of each robot at my local Walmart and had to grab them)so I've been having fun with him.

Good on ya; I would've said to try and collect the aerialbots as they are still shelfwarming at various locales 'round the net, but the protectobots are great too.

Thanks man. I'd like to get more of the combiners at some point or at least the entire teams of combaticons or constructicons maybe even Devastator, but the protectobots will hold me over for now
