Saber Prime wrote:As for G1, doesn't matter what the creators said. All that means is they hadn't intended on conecting it with G1 but too bad. Wheather it was intended or not, it happen, get over it. You wanna prove there's no conection to G1 then prove that isn't G1 footage Optimus is watching. You wanna prove Animated Ratchet isn't G1 Ratchet than prove Optimus never said he was there.
Here you go watch this again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YvzZ2N0JSI
If there's no G1 conection than everything in Transformers Animated from 00:31 to 01:19 never happened and the new series doesn't actully start till Ratchet says "Looks like the Young bots need some help."
You can't say there's no G1 Conection without completly ignoring that sceen so good luck trying to prove it's not there.
Jeysie wrote:Because it's a cute little fanservice easter egg nod to all the old-timer TF fans in the audience, just like using G1 footage as "history tapes", and isn't meant to be taken seriously? This is starting to get really silly.

So the fact that there were three people who were the spitting image of Spike, Carly and Daniel in the first episode is just pure coincidence?
I saw no one who even resembled them and I've watched that first episode three times now but I'll go watch again and see if I spot them...
-=edit=-
You mean these three?
I didn't even notice them till I was actully looking for them. I was too buisy watching the robots durring his speech to pay any attention to the humans.
There's allso a girl who walks by them in that same sceen that looks like Audrey Rocio Ramirez.
Apperently Cory Burton and Lenord Nimoy were both in that movie too.

There are real-life jets with forward wings.NiteStar wrote:And Ratchets Voice is John Stephenson who Voiced Kup in G1 Transformers.
Actually, Corey Burton voices Ratchet. He also does Megatron and is reprising his old role as Shockwave eventually.
Sabrblade wrote:About that final battle between the Bots and Cons in Iacon mentioned in BM. I just watched the episode everyone was talking about. To clarify just what was said, here are the exact quotes from all the scenes in "Iocon", as they pronounced it:
Sabrblade wrote:Arriving in Iacon/Iocon
Nightscream: I don't believe it. This city was lost eons ago after the Great War between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Primal: Not lost, merely replaced. During the Great Upgrade from Autobot to Maximal. Welcome to Iocon.
Sabrblade wrote: Nightscream: So, this is where our ancestors, the Autobots, lived.
Primal: Lived, and battled.
Nightscream: So, what're you looking for exactly?
*Hologram of Prime w/ Primal's old head appears*
Nightscream: Hey. Isn't that--?
Primal: Yes. A holographic tribute to my ancestor: the original Optimus Prime.
Sabrblade wrote:So, all in all, there was a very small mentioning of a final Bots vs. Cons battle, but nothing was said of it.
Sabrblade wrote:The Prime hologram was put there only to lure Primal's attention. It is not a memorial to Prime's demise.
.Sabrblade wrote:The statement about it being Prime's essence was obviously a lie by megs
Sabrblade wrote:Primal: Are you really my ancestor: Optimus Prime?
HoloPrime: Yes, and no. I am am his essence. Stored here these many years after the final battle.
Sabrblade wrote:And it not stated that the final battle was fought IN Iacon, just that the Autobot fought in that city during the Great War.
Sabrblade wrote:Also, aside from the Prime hologram, there were two more G1 characters that had cameo appearances in this episode: Soundwave and some solid blue guy with the head of Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen. They were in the rubble after the power core that Cheetor through at Obsidian and his drones exploded.

If this really is set in the future of G1, why wouldn't a guy who looks like Spike be around? You exspect the Witwicky's to just stop reproducing and drop off the planet?sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:Since you agree that it looks like Spike can you give us a explaintion as to why the animator's would chose to add in a character that looks like Spike to begin with????
They don't have to show Earth in order to have a G1 conection. They just have to show G1 Characters that exsist in their past. They've allready done that, you can't deny they did that, so it IS conected to G1.Even if these "Flashback" are G1 footage it wont prove much ether way.If the Flash back footage is G1 and Cybertron related footage only it wont prove anything more then the history tapes do.......just that animated past is simular to G1 past.
Now if they show some G1 footage with Earth in it then you have your connection.
Hair style is all wrong.
Your math is a little off. That would still put Daniel at 10 years of age.sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:According to the Bible and the script for the 86 TF movie Daniel was about 5 years younger then Spike was when we first meet him in the G1 toon.
Now trying to figure out Spike's age seems difficult but in more then one episode of G1 he makes there are refrances to the fact that he's to young to drive. One time by Spike himself in the first season and the other by a police officer in the second season.
Now it is my understanding that the legale age for driving on the West Coast back in 1984 was 16 or 17 years old.
So for Spike not to be old enough to drive he had to be at least 14 years old when we first meet him [and probably younger based on the cop's reaction].
So if you subtrack about 6 years from the age Spike must be in the first season of G1 you end up at 7 years of age.
So G1 Daniel was about 8 years old in the 86 movie.Far closer to what you thing Animated Daniel looked like.
Really where are you getting thoughs numbers? This makes a bit more sence then Daniel being 12 for other reasons. At the time of the movie [1986] the ideal family starting age for a young man was considered to be between 26 and 27 years of age.But if Daniel was 12 like you suggest [and I'll admit he looked] he would have had to been born when Spike was 22 or 23 years of age.
I'm not even sure that's physically possible. You just hit puberty and had a kid, riiiiight. Now I know people were having kids at younger ages then, I my self had kids at the age of 13 but I doubt that a 80's cartoon would have been advocating anything less then what the U. S. govererment would have considered the ideal family starting age.
Megatron just crash landed in his back yard and he's the only person that knows about it. You don't think that if anyone else was living with him that they would have woken up to the crash or at least seen Megatron the next morning if they were that heavy of sleepers?I saw nothing that suggests that he was living alone and he looked to me to be about 15 or 16 years old.
One of my friend's parrents are that old but the thing is, they actully ARE his grandparrents at the same time. Legally he's adopted by his blood grandparrents so their his grandparrents and his parrents. Not by todays standereds.more then half of my youngest daughter's friends parents are all in there late 60's to mid 70's.
Granted most have older children too.
Someone else allready mentioned that. I said it would exsplain why there hasn't been any mention of her mother in the series. And besides theres an other debate that Sauri may be a robot.
Because what they said and what they actully DID are two completly seperate and contridicting things.sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:How could it not matter what the creators said?????
Didnt the reason you told me that you wont sell the rights to your character "Maylard man" was so that you can control the dirrection of the story and his universe.
But they allso made a statement that is was conected even if they hadn't intended to.The creater's of this show did the same thing you did with your character. They made a statement that Animated is not connected to G1.
The history tapes are of G1, that is the proof. And why dont you prove to us how the history tapes prove that it is connected to G1?????
Everything I've allready said can't be debated. You can't prove there's no G1 conection, you can't prove G1 isn't in their history, and you can't prove that Ratchet wasn't there.Show us something that can not be debated.
Saber Prime wrote:Now lets toss this in the pile with "Are G1 Megatron and G1 Galvatron the same character?"
Black Zarak wrote:I am really liking the new show. I was disappointed with Energon and Cybertron (both toys and show ), especially after how well Armada ended. I was really put off by the direction of those two series were going, animation and convoluted story wise, and I'm glad they've changed it up. Yeah, G1 will always be my favorite with Beast Wars a close second but I grew up with G1. At this point, I'm not looking for some miracle "best ever" series, just a Transformers show I can enjoy. Animated has really impressed me and I am waiting with bated breath for the toys to come out.
That Dinobot episode was lame. I just don't see this series getting any better.
