You wanna prove Animated Ratchet isn't G1 Ratchet than prove Optimus never said he was there.

Here you go watch this again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YvzZ2N0JSI

If there's no G1 conection than everything in Transformers Animated from 00:31 to 01:19 never happened and the new series doesn't actully start till Ratchet says "Looks like the Young bots need some help."

You can't say there's no G1 Conection without completly ignoring that sceen so good luck trying to prove it's not there.

How could it not matter what the creators said?????

Didnt the reason you told me that you wont sell the rights to your character "Maylard man" was so that you can control the dirrection of the story and his universe.

The creater's of this show did the same thing you did with your character. They made a statement that Animated is not connected to G1.

And why dont you prove to us how the history tapes prove that it is connected to G1?????

Show us something that can not be debated.

Jeysie wrote:Because it's a cute little fanservice easter egg nod to all the old-timer TF fans in the audience, just like using G1 footage as "history tapes", and isn't meant to be taken seriously? This is starting to get really silly.

About that final battle between the Bots and Cons in Iacon mentioned in BM. I just watched the episode everyone was talking about. To clarify just what was said, here are the exact quotes from all the scenes in "Iocon", as they pronounced it:

Arriving in Iacon/Iocon
Nightscream: I don't believe it. This city was lost eons ago after the Great War between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Primal: Not lost, merely replaced. During the Great Upgrade from Autobot to Maximal. Welcome to Iocon.
Nightscream: So, this is where our ancestors, the Autobots, lived.
Primal: Lived, and battled.
Nightscream: So, what're you looking for exactly?
*Hologram of Prime w/ Primal's old head appears*
Nightscream: Hey. Isn't that--?
Primal: Yes. A holographic tribute to my ancestor: the original Optimus Prime.

A G1 Surprise
Nightscream: You better get on with the search.
*He and Primal turn to walk away, the hologram moves, Primal notices this and turns back to facing it*
Primal: Gyah! Aaagghh!
*Primal gets grabbed by the Hologram, who in this one scene has a mouth cut through his mouthplate*
Nightscream: Optimus!
*Primal and the hologram connect mentally, the hologram disappears from sight, Primal still floats in mid-air*
Nightscream: Optimus.
*Thrust shows up*
Thrust: Welcome to Iocon. Think of it as your final destination.
Nightscream: Oof! Nyahh! Optimus, wake up!
Thrust: I'd worry about myself if I were you, kid.

Speaking With the Hologram
Nightscream: Aagh!
Nightscream: Optimus, we have to get out of here! Optimus! Optimus! Optimus!
*Primal talks with the hologram, who now has a full mouthplate again*
Primal: Are you really my ancestor: Optimus Prime?
HoloPrime: Yes, and no. I am am his essence. Stored here these many years after the final battle.
Primal: I... I need guidence. The Oracle is no more and without it--
HoloPrime: The Oracle lies within you, Optimus Primal. It will grant you the insight to defeat Megatron. If only you have the courage to summon it.
Primal: Of course. Now everything makes sense. The solution has been within me... the entire time.
HoloPrime: Ah, ha ha ha ha...
Megs' voice: *laughing*
Primal: What? What's going on here?
Megs' voice: *laughing*
*HoloPrime changes into Megs*
Primal: Megatron?

Confronted by Megatron
Primal: Megatron, you!
Megs: Yes, Optimus. I sent you that flash about the sparks and tricked you into sending you Maximals on fools' errands. All to gull you into accessing the Oracle for my benefit.
Primal: How? Why?
Megs: Ha ha ha ha ha! I don't suppose you recall me downloading most of the Oracle from you during one of your previous visits. You think I would let you escape without taking it from you? I've spent a great deal of time deciphering the Oracle. I've mastered most of its secrets; and yet the most important ever remained encrypted beyond my reach! That is, until now.
*Megs downloads info from Primal*
Primal: No! *groans*
Megs: Every important element is falling into place. I've capture all of the sparks, I have freed myself of my disgustingly organic beast mode, and now, thanks to you... I have acquired all of the information I need in order to complete my ultimate plan for the sparks. A farewell, Optimus. Your usefulness to me is at an end.
*Megs fades away, Primal comes back to reality*
Primal: Aagh!
*Fight between Nightcream and Thrust & Cycle Drones*
Nightscream: Oof! Aaagh!
*Nightscream is saved by Savage*
Nightscream: Noble! Where did you come from?
*Cycle Drones retreat, Noble chases and clobbers them*
Nightscream: Woah. Optimus. What happened, are you all right?
Primal: *Pauses* Let's go. We have to rendezvous with the others.
*They leave Iacon/Iocon*

So, all in all, there was a very small mentioning of a final Bots vs. Cons battle, but nothing was said of it. The Prime hologram was put there only to lure Primal's attention. It is not a memorial to Prime's demise. The statement about it being Prime's essence was obviously a lie by megs. And it not stated that the final battle was fought IN Iacon, just that the Autobot fought in that city during the Great War.

Also, aside from the Prime hologram, there were two more G1 characters that had cameo appearances in this episode: Soundwave and some solid blue guy with the head of Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen. They were in the rubble after the power core that Cheetor through at Obsidian and his drones exploded.

You know, I doubt they would do this, given the description of this Headmaster guy....I kinda think it'd be neat if they got 3 guys together, called them Headmaster, Targetmaster, & Powermaster, gave them abilities similar to the names (i.e. Headmaster would be the brains, Powermaster would be the brawn, Target be a walking armory), & possibly later find some way of getting some new Sumdac tech (perferrably stolen tech, just to enrich the story) that let them attatch to transforming drones to be come TFs themselves, similar to how it was done in Masterforce.....& then make toys to match.

...I so want more master toys.

Let's just put it this way: Unconfirmed one way or the other as to whether it's a sequel. (until an official message comes down the pike.)

Second, that isn't *THE* Witwickys, but a nice homage and nod for the fans.

Third, just try and enjoy Animated for what it is...a lighthearted TF romp that has something everyone might just find to enjoy.

Give it a chance, the most you'll lose is 5-67 minutes and if you don't like it then, more power to ya'll.

I think we sometimes forget to enjoy ourselves here.

I'm late in this thread beacuse complications over the holidays.blah blah.
But so let me get this straight.
In the new series....
Prime is a Firetruck
Bumblebee is a Yellow Cab looking Police Car
Ratchet is a Ambulance(natrually)
Prowl is a Motrocycle
and Bulkhead is one of those Trucks that holds Arrestees being taken away.( forgot what they are called)

Stracream is JEt.(type of Jet IDK) But with foward wings? Can I ask do jets like that even exist with foward wings?Or is that Always been a TF thing. Even going way back G1 Cyclonus.

And Megatron is a Cybertonian Jet but with the Gun Barrel on him. I like that they did that. They made him like G1 Megs with is Gun Barrel on his arm, but then what? Where does it go when he Transforms? Oh just put it on the front his Jet mode. :APPLAUSE:

And Ratchets Voice is John Stephenson who Voiced Kup in G1 Transformers.

I like the old TF sounds Library they used. The Transforming sounds and Megatrons Gun Blasts was the same sound as Megatron G1 Gun Blasts. anyone notice that?

Actually, Corey Burton voices Ratchet. He also does Megatron and is reprising his old role as Shockwave eventually.

Your right about that...I may have been reading into it more then was really said. But I do feel that between Beast wars and some other Beast Machines episodes there were a few more passing comment on the end of the Great war.

I will watch a few more episodes to see if I find anything.

Sabrblade wrote:The Prime hologram was put there only to lure Primal's attention. It is not a memorial to Prime's demise.

With this assummtion I can not agree.Granted the dialog do's not confirm what I believe it do's not prove it false ether.

There are reasons to believe that The Prime hologram is a memorial to Prime's demise.

1] Back in the G1 toon a gold statue was errected in Autobot city as a memorial to Prime. Now they never say in G1 that its nere where he died but it was in the same city.

So its not so far fetch to thing that the same was done the next time he died.

2] Primal seemed to be a very well versed in G1 history. He wasnt even the least bit suprised by the holigrapthic Prime even being there.

Seem's to me that with all the information he had on Icon and the end of the war he would have knowen weter or not there would be a tribute to G1 Prime or not.

I can agree that Megatron took control of the tribute but I cant see how Primal could have been tricked by something that should not have been there in the first place.

So I would say that the tribute did belong there and just like it's G1 counterpart was placed near where G1 Prime died at the end of the Great War.

Sabrblade wrote:The statement about it being Prime's essence was obviously a lie by megs

I agree...as a mater of fact thats what I always thought. But I also feel that if it were not possible that Primal would not have fallen for Megatron's trick.

This is what I meen:

If Prime had not fallen in Icon durring the final battle like hol-Prime said then Primal would have seen right trew the lie.

With all the G1 history info that Primal had he had to have knowen where his ancestor died.

sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:Since you agree that it looks like Spike can you give us a explaintion as to why the animator's would chose to add in a character that looks like Spike to begin with????
If this really is set in the future of G1, why wouldn't a guy who looks like Spike be around? You exspect the Witwicky's to just stop reproducing and drop off the planet?

The guy is Spike's decendent who just happens to have allso married a blond. She looks nothing like Carly because the face is completly wrong.

Cloths can't be used in the argument because for all we know they probly sell all that stuff buy the thousands.

That's like saying any man with black hair, a black beard, and wears all black is me. That description does match me, but it matches about 100 other people too.

Even if these "Flashback" are G1 footage it wont prove much ether way.If the Flash back footage is G1 and Cybertron related footage only it wont prove anything more then the history tapes do.......just that animated past is simular to G1 past.

Now if they show some G1 footage with Earth in it then you have your connection.
They don't have to show Earth in order to have a G1 conection. They just have to show G1 Characters that exsist in their past. They've allready done that, you can't deny they did that, so it IS conected to G1.

How can it not be conected when they make the conection in the first few lines of dialog. Ratchet was there, there in G1, how can you interpret that any other way?

Hair style is all wrong.

In that image yea it is. But Agelica breaks the cartoon rule of wearing the same outfit in every episode. She has quite a few different looks and hair styals, I just couldn't find one with the right hair.

sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:According to the Bible and the script for the 86 TF movie Daniel was about 5 years younger then Spike was when we first meet him in the G1 toon.

Now trying to figure out Spike's age seems difficult but in more then one episode of G1 he makes there are refrances to the fact that he's to young to drive. One time by Spike himself in the first season and the other by a police officer in the second season.

Now it is my understanding that the legale age for driving on the West Coast back in 1984 was 16 or 17 years old.

So for Spike not to be old enough to drive he had to be at least 14 years old when we first meet him [and probably younger based on the cop's reaction].

So if you subtrack about 6 years from the age Spike must be in the first season of G1 you end up at 7 years of age.

So G1 Daniel was about 8 years old in the 86 movie.Far closer to what you thing Animated Daniel looked like.
Your math is a little off. That would still put Daniel at 10 years of age.

According to Carly's Wiki page she was a year older than Spike and she had her own car. That Places her at 16 and Spike at 15. If Daniel was ment to be 5 years younger than Spike like you say that makes him 10. That's only 2 years younger than my original estimate and still a year older than what I thought Sari to be.

This makes a bit more sence then Daniel being 12 for other reasons. At the time of the movie [1986] the ideal family starting age for a young man was considered to be between 26 and 27 years of age.But if Daniel was 12 like you suggest [and I'll admit he looked] he would have had to been born when Spike was 22 or 23 years of age.
Really where are you getting thoughs numbers?

There's absolutly nothing wrong with a 22 year old man haveing a child as long as that man can suport his child.

My oldest nephew is a year old and his father just turned 23 last month.

Now I know people were having kids at younger ages then, I my self had kids at the age of 13 but I doubt that a 80's cartoon would have been advocating anything less then what the U. S. govererment would have considered the ideal family starting age.
I'm not even sure that's physically possible. You just hit puberty and had a kid, riiiiight.

I saw nothing that suggests that he was living alone and he looked to me to be about 15 or 16 years old.
Megatron just crash landed in his back yard and he's the only person that knows about it. You don't think that if anyone else was living with him that they would have woken up to the crash or at least seen Megatron the next morning if they were that heavy of sleepers?

Granted he does look a little younger but I highly doubt anyone that young could keep something like that a secret for long.

Not by todays standereds.more then half of my youngest daughter's friends parents are all in there late 60's to mid 70's.

Granted most have older children too.
One of my friend's parrents are that old but the thing is, they actully ARE his grandparrents at the same time. Legally he's adopted by his blood grandparrents so their his grandparrents and his parrents.

His real parrents... well I won't go into that because it's not my buisness to be talking about.

And besides theres an other debate that Sauri may be a robot.
Someone else allready mentioned that. I said it would exsplain why there hasn't been any mention of her mother in the series.

Everything I've allready said can't be debated. You can't prove there's no G1 conection, you can't prove G1 isn't in their history, and you can't prove that Ratchet wasn't there.

Again I ask you, how can watch that opening sceen and interpret it as anything less than a G1 conection? Honestly, you can't. There's nothing in the sceen to sugest it's not G1.

Now lets toss this in the pile with "Are G1 Megatron and G1 Galvatron the same character?"

Depends which storyline you follow, because IDW seem to be having them as different characters. :P

Only a few hours now until the Dinobots make their debut. I'm hoping it's all kinds of awesome, but I don't want any spoilers until the torrent is available so I'll have to stop reading this thread. =(

I know everyone hates it, but I find it endearing... so I'm really hoping for a "Me, Grimlock" speech pattern. :P We shall see, at the unknown time when I get to watch it.

Now that that's out of the way...

I really hope the episodes are just been aired out of order. I would be really pissed if they never aired "Total Meltdown".

I don't know about the rest of you but when I was reading through the list of episodes "Total Meltdown" was the one that really stood out to me as something I had to see. Of course maybe they relize that's going to be one of the better episodes and that's why they're holding it off till later?

But it would be out of sequence, and it may not be a continuous story arc going through each episode, there are little things each episode that will carry on to future episodes.

So if they were to hold it off because it's a good episode, it would be a pretty stupid move because they're liable to slot it in between episodes with characters that may be frequent in future episodes suddenly not appearing for one episode.

.... boy that makes no sense. Simply put, it would be stupid for them to hold it until later because it's a good episode.

I am really liking the new show. I was disappointed with Energon and Cybertron (both toys and show ), especially after how well Armada ended. I was really put off by the direction of those two series were going, animation and convoluted story wise, and I'm glad they've changed it up. Yeah, G1 will always be my favorite with Beast Wars a close second but I grew up with G1. At this point, I'm not looking for some miracle "best ever" series, just a Transformers show I can enjoy. Animated has really impressed me and I am waiting with bated breath for the toys to come out.

I think I just found my polor oppisite.

I liked Energon and Cybertron (both toys and shows), I thought Armada sucked from begining to end. I was really enjoying the direction of those two series were going, animation and story wise. Beast Wars is my fav. series with G1 a close second. I grew up with Beast Wars and G1 both but I only saw G1 in reruns of seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 I saw new but was too young to really remember any of it and saw it again in reruns. I've allready found the some miracle best ever series, it's called Beast Wars. I'm not looking forward to the Transformers Animated toys allthough I'll probly buy Optimus and Megatron anyway just to go in my collection.

All the other Optimus and Megatrons in my colection will then come to life and beat the crap out of the deformed Transformers untill they look normal.

I'm really falling behind in my collection as it is. I still need G1 Megatron and Galvatron. Energon Wing Saber and Galvatron. Cybertron Optimus Prime, Wing Saber, Leo Breaker, Megatron, Galvatron, and Nemesis Breaker (or whater the heck the Decpticon Leo Breaker's name was). Movie Optimus Prime and Megatron. (I have movie Protoform Optimus Prime and I wanna get another one. One of them will remain in tact the other is getting a new paint job.)

So basically I was never able to find Energon Wing Saber or Galvatron in stores and it all went down hill from there.

i agree. just finished watching it. The end was slightly redeeming when grimlock transformed, but the episode was just overall boring, and the whole side issue with bulkhead was dumb and pointless. If the episodes are so isolated in plot that they can air them out of order, I find something wrong with the series. All I see then doing right now is having headatron come up with stupid schemes and plots to fight the autobots and failing. I personally like big overarching plots that actually make some HEADway each episode. What pisses me off is how all these other characters get little more than cameo time for like an episode or so. I think the show will get better as more things come into play, like a fully mobilized team of decepticons fighting the autobots, the cybertron elite guard, etc. but right now I can't say I really like it.
