Yeah, except black operations soldiers still recognize authority and insubordination isn't something they're just allowed to do. Especially with the sensitive nature of black ops, you are most certainly not allowed to just flip off your Commander in Chief then go off and indulge in a revenge plot.
that is if he considers optimus his cic.
Optimus Prime is his Commander in Chief, being a Prime puts him above everyone except Primus. The chain of command doesn't work based on whether or not you think someone is higher up than you, or, if they are, that the validity of their orders are based entirely on how much you respect them.
I know that he's over it and he actually has a respect for Optimus, I'm just saying, running black ops and having a dislike of your superiors doesn't mean you can just run off and directly contradict them.
your assuming that their military works as ours does, seems much more like an informal militia to me. the autobots have a very loose sence of the coc, every other episode one goes off on their own. if their military did work that way then it failed miserably......could be why they lost the war though.
Also, that's pretty much what happened in The Last Stand of the Wreckers with Impactor.
He did face punishment for his actions, but he ignored a direct command by his superiors.
So there's a precedent.
And was it not the same case with Ironhide towards OP?
And Kup towards pretty much anyone in the IDW comics (Springer, for example).

It was established that Dreadwing
, perhaps especially Wreckers and he is not above using bait as evidenced by strapping the bomb to Bulkhead. All Wheeljack said was that he received a transmission for Seaspray and they arranged to meet. At the location he found a ship with a bomb strapped to it. A trap.
As evidenced by his questioning Team Prime about their security precautions in his last appearance, WJ is not overly concerned about verifying the authenticity on communications, he just rushes in headlong.
So my question is was that really Seaspray or just a voice Dreadwing used to catch him a Jackie?

What are you talking about? No one here's mentioned the Japanese dub of Prime (if that's what you're referring to).sheilaaellis44 wrote:Them yelling Transform just kills it for me. Despite the fact that it looks to be a pretty good cast (Japanese voice of Patrick Star is Bulkhead, thats perfect!), the 'japanification' of it just lets me know that I'll never get through an entire episode.

Edit: That was the best episode of the series YET!!! That was intense! Megatron kicks ass! And I hope Arcee eventually rips out Arachnid's throat! I hate her.

The whole Arcee out of control and always doing something dumb is getting old though. She needs anger management before she gets them all killed.

-Megatron wants Airachnid out of the way, not sure why, she did try to usurp him when it appeared he went crazy and died fighting Unicron, but she wasn't at Starscream-level backstabbing. He sends Dreadwing and Breakdown to do the deed. Breakdown doesn't seem to care much about teamwork, though, and leaves Dreadwing behind. Bites him in the ass pretty hard.
-The scene where Starscream calls for help is waaaaaaaay too similar to the scene of him giving up Orion's location. It had me very confused for a moment.
-Megatron vs. Insecticon: 32 flavors of awesome.
-I honestly thought Prime was going to let Megatron go for a moment. Optimus, however, is sticking to his ideal that Megatron is irredeemable.
-Arcee is apparently back to her revenge-lust, which, as usual, ends with her in a bind. Starscream, on the other hand, decides to repay her for not killing him, and helps her down. I almost expected him not to, it is Starscream after all.
-Breakdown is dead, and MECH has his remains, so they have all the Cybertronian tech they ever wanted. Airachnid has her own army of Insecticons. This leaves both the Autobots and Decepticons at a major disadvantage. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

After having seen what Cliffjumper could and could not survive, Breakdown is very dead, and according to the writers, they have no intention of bringing the dead back as anything other than zombies.
Or whatever MECH has in store for his remains.

So I guess Starscream doesn't require his T-COG to use this missiles, but was saving them up to this point because he couldn't restock?
Btw, I love that we get our first look at the Airachnid deluxe toy today and complain she only has three legs on her back...and tonight she loses one of her legs!

Did you see him? He was completely dismembered. Only Waspinator was ever capable of coming back from that, and bots have been shown dying from much lesser wounds in this series, with other struggling to stay up after non-visible damage.

It would seem so. I figured he could, since, like Megatron's fusion cannon, Starscream's missiles aren't internalized.

That had me confused as all hell too. I thought that whoever the hell is in charge of running programs at the Hub got confused and started airing part of that Orion Pax episode on accident. It's probably going to be a running gag or some crap. I hope not.

MECH grabbing his parts makes me think he may, in some way, come back.
-Starscream was amazing, as always.
-Megatron collapsing after fighting the Insecticon and declaring how amazing he is? Really?
-Optimus's hypocritical -- "I cannot condone killing any unarmed sentient being", about to blow an unarmed Megatron's brains out. Hope it's a purposeful character-development and not an oversight while trying to make OP "badass."

- Arcee's back on her Revenge Before Reason kick. Kind of annoying.
- Airachnid is now the Queen of Blades, with her own private army of Zerg.
- Really now, why did Breakdown have to die? First Skyquake, now Breakdown. Everyone I like dies.
- Mexican Stand-Off!
- MECH convieniantly finding Breakdown's parts. Anyone wanna bet this will have something to do with Nemesis Prime?
- Starscream calling for help again. One more time and it counts as a running gag.

Episode 33 -
So, Airachnid is currently Megatron's second in command, but Megatron is now in favor of having Dreadwing promoted to that rank, but only once Airachnid has been dealt with. In other words, he wants Dreadwing to permanently rid the Decepticons of Airachnid.
Looks like Dreadwing traded in his gatling gun for a laser gun.
Oh my... she did!
The MECH Soldier is voiced by Steve Blum's awesome voice.
No. Not Starscream too.
Oh, thank goodness, he's still alive. Phew!
Optimus: "Without the resources we possessed on Cybertron, we lack ready means of capturing and imprisoning our enemies. nonetheless, I do not condone the termination of any defenseless lifeform." - Tell it, Optimus!
Optimus and Bulkhead figure that Starscream set up everyone to kill themselves in one big brawl, when really Starscream had no idea about Megatron showing up.
And with the Insecticon, that makes two deaths for this episode.
Optimus was gonna gun down the defenseless Megatron. Hypocrite.
Vengeful Starscream to the rescue!
Once again, Dreadwing proves himself to be an awesome character, upholding his word with honor, despite being a Decep.
There's a whole hive of Insecticons encases within metal cacoons bruing deep underground on Earth. So, that's where it came from.

Well I'm limiting it Adam Baldwin, but yes that is also a tragedy.
So let's tally 'em up here...
Decepticons:
Megatron
Soundwave
Knock Out
Dreadwing
Breakdown
Airachnid (Rogue)
Starscream (Rogue)
Skyquake
Makeshift
Autobots:
Optimus
Bulkhead
Ratchet
Bumblebee
Arcee
Wheeljack
Cliffjumper
So it looks like the 'Bots have the upper hand now... I wonder if they'll realize it.

No they don't. The con still have their whole army of Vehicons, not to mention a fully operational battle warship with a plethora of resources.crazyjeffy wrote:So it looks like the 'Bots have the upper hand now... I wonder if they'll realize it.
The 'Bots are still hiding out in an old missile silo scraping at the bottom of the barrel.

It's not hypocritical. There's a huge difference between a defenseless lifeform and Megatron. Because defenseless or otherwise, he's still Megatron, and his continued existence is a bad thing for Earth and the Autobots.

Megatron is a lifeform, and he was completely at Optimus's mercy in that instant. Optimus said that he doesn't condone the very actions he was considering doing. It's all part of his character development (finally, he gets some!).Shadowman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Optimus was gonna gun down the defenseless Megatron. Hypocrite.![]()

Which, lets be honest, are completely useless. There were roughly 10 - 15 of them surrounding Prime, Bulkhead and Bumblebee. Yet all of them were destroyed easily with no damage to speak of to the 3 autobots!!
Nuts. So Breakdown dies yet Bumblebee carries on whirring, clicking and electronic farting and ruining any scene he is in. If any bot needs to go it is him, and quick. I assume that Adam Baldwin had other projects that demanded his full attention so he couldn't carry on. Damn shame though.
Still, best episode of season 2 so far
