"Arcee. Been a while. So, where's your master?"
"Wrong episode, Cliff."
"Oh, yeah. Arcee. Been a while."

Dang, Bulkhead's okay. :-(

Encrypting that Iacon Database? Oh yay, more relics. I've been waiting since Triage.

Drill Sergeant Miko.

Oh great, Arcee sulks again. Well, at least this will be interesting.

Cliff, quite the conversationalist.

Cliffjumper sounds different now. Maybe it's not The Rock. KMR?

I was waiting for Breakdown to appear.

Shockwave! Yahoo! :D

Damn Commercials.

Oh great, Prime Shockwave's a semi-mute like DOTM Shockwave.

I take that back. Shockwave invented the cortical psychic patch? Cool!

"Illogical." OMG, nerdgasm!

So Shockwave built the space bridge and Starscream gave him the Energon. Throughout the whole thing, I'm just wondering who voices Shockwave.

Cliffjumper was there to rescue Arcee when Airachnid killed Tailgate. Which is why Cliffjumper knows why Arcee closes herself off from others. And so dawns the partnership of Cee & Cliff.

Just a bit of advice, Cliff; GET AWAY FROM HER, SHE KILLS MINIBOTS. :-(

Well, I'll have to re-watch this episode for stuff I missed...but...

Bullseye, literally!

I hope Shockwave survived that. I want to see him in Season 3.

...No Breakdown. Damn.

Billy Brown as Cliffjumper. Knew it wasn't The Rock.

David Sobolov as Shockwave. That was unexpected.

Well, bring on Smokescreen. I'm kind of disappointed that there was no promo for New Recruit. Oh well, still an awesome episode.

Looks like the episode is starting immediately with the flashback.

Oh hai, CJ.

Really? They couldn't go one episode without Bulkhead staying unconscious? I mean, it's not like Kevin Michael Richardson can't afford the break (the guy's quite ubiquitous in the voice acting realm). Let Bulkhead stay under for awhile to really let his condition settle in to create a greater feel of something new.

Miko, stop acting like a drill sergeant to a guy who's still recovering from poison!

Hey cool, Optimus is tapping in to his old records clerk expertise to decode the Iacon Database. Any bit of Orion Pax we get is fine by me. 8-)

Arcee: "But he needs a friend right now, not a drill sergeant." -- Precisely. :P

Autobots, say hello to Shockwave.

Starscream sure seems a lot more nervous around Shockwave than he was eons back near the end of the war.

His voice... it's... :| :P :o :?  :?: :!: :|

He says he invented the cortical psychic patch, which Bumblebee used on Megatron way back in episode 13.

About the message Optimus gives, I don't have my Prime graphic novel on hand to compare its version to this version, but I do know that this version is different from the version given in Rescue Bots.

How did Arcee get her arm free? We saw that the clamp was too small to let her wrist fit through.

As predictable as it is, I really hope Arcee and Cliff don't wind up going through the space bridge.

And they did.

Shockwave too?

So... what happened to Shockwave?

Ahh, nice moment between the girls at the end.

David Sobolov (BW Depth Charge) voiced Shockwave. And someone named Billy Brown voiced Cliffjumper.

Cool episode but... why oh why must this episode contradict so much of the very comic that was made to lead directly into episode 1?!! This is almost like it's trying to take the place of the prequel graphic novel comic. It matches up with the Decepticons' plans in that story, but the initial setting and eventual circumstances are completely different. In the comic, it was Cliffjumper who had been captured and ordered to decrypt the message, not Arcee. And he was in a Decepticon base on Cyberton, not the Nemesis. And it was the Vehicons themselves doing the interrogating, not Starscream. And they didn't bring in another Autobot to try and force Cliff to decrypt the message. Arcee came in on her own and saved his rear end in the scuffle. And she didn't even intend to do that, since she was already on a mission of her own, which led to the discovery of the space bridge being built underneath Kaon. And so much dialogue was different, and so many details were redone. And most of all, Shockwave was NOT involved in any of this. Why does Hasbro care so little about consistency?! #-o :HEADHURTS:

Another great episode. It is based off of the comic prequel but deviates significantly in some areas. I can't say I mind (sorry Saberblade) I kind of like this version better.

That battle scenes alone are worth the watch. Arcee and Cliff both kick some serious Decepticon skidplate.

Now; normally I am NOT a Decepticon fan; but when Shockwave said "...Illogical..." I think my brain short circuited from fan-girl overload.

The animators and the voice actress work together to create an image of the pre-Prime Arcee that is amazingly detailed. She is emotionally a broken bird but completely deadly in battle.

And even more character development for Miko.

I seriously almost cried at the last scene.

Oh, Bulkhead is obviously going to make a full recovery soon. *sigh* Not surprised.
And Shockwave was not at all interesting. Hrm...

On the plus side, Miko is tolerable and Cliffjumper was fun. And it was nice to see some backstory.

Tonights episode was an ok episode but somewhat weak in my opinion usually the flash back deals are. This should be Episode 1 or Prologue to Season 1 and they should make another Flash Back showing how Prime and Team Prime ended up on Earth and set up the base and met up with Fowler.

This Flash Back would be 2 Parter cause it would have a lot to cover.

Billy Brown voiced Cliff and I kinda figured The Rock was a 1 Shot deal for Cliff as right now Rock is doing Fast 6 and will have some sort of match as Wrestlemania 29 and Royal Rumble.

Shockwave was new diffrent and unique and bad-ass he was a scientist but he also new how to kick but.

Cant wait to see how he and the Dinobots will be brought into Prime. My guess on Shockwave, yes he did survive if you remember on G1 on how Spacebridges operate if you get caught in one you will be brought back to the source such as Cybertron. So my guess Shockwave was sent back to Cybertron and is somewhat damaged.

I didnt see Shockwaves VA as the creds fliped over to fast I just glimpsed at Cilff who was Billy Brown as this is someone I do not recognize.

I am most curious on Legacy and Why Jack has to have a new partner do he and Arcee break apart do they have a fight, or did Arcee get injured or Captured.

Red Energon is something else I wanna learn more about and what it is capable of also whatit looks like will it be like a Shard such as Dark Energon also where will it be hidden at on Earth.

So many questions so little episodes left which S2 ends on Nov 2nd me I think this new Team Prime will be someone new as Jackie is a Wrecker and works alone so that counts him out as being on Team Prime.

I am hoping for someone classic be cool if it was G1 such as Jazz, Mirage, Hound, Trailblazer or SkyFire but done in a new unique way to fit on Prime. But then again it could be an all new character never before seen such as SkyQuake and Knockout is so many possibilities on who this will be.

Sucks another week. I give this episode a 7 out of 10.

Thing is, on its own, this episode was great! But, as means of retelling the existing story, it deviated way too much. I mean, people already have enough difficulty trying to reconcile WFC/FOC and Exodus into this timeline, and now we got another case in "Graphic novel vs. Out of the Past". :HEADHURTS:

Unless he suffered a similar fate as Cataclysm. Or Straxus (neither of which I hope happened to him). ;)

You do know that this isn't part of G1, right? So it is possible that they want to go a different way with Space Bridge technology. Although, in all of that, I still hope Shockwave makes an epic return.

Shockwave is voiced by David Sobolov

We do have Smokescreen coming into the series (or at least that's who I think it is. It could be Jazz or Mirage). Jack could be the one to show the new 'bot the ropes of Team Prime. It could be a temporary switch of partners.

Rodimus2006 wrote:

Well, normal Energon is also a shard (unless it's been processed and digested, then it's liquid), so it's presumable that Red Energon will share this physical appearance.

Have you seen the new promos? It's definitely not Wheeljack, because he's got door-wings, he's got a 38 on his door, and he's also white and blue (with a little red).

Definitely not a sky-bound character, or some sort of off-road or military vehicle. A race car, that's what we've seen.

Oh, man, where to start on this episode?

I guess first, the obvious: SHOCKWAVE!!!!!! And he looks pretty different from his FOC version. And boy howdy he's big! Now I want a Voyager Prime Shockwave. Also, he sounds like Worf. And he's voiced by Depth Charge. It's not Corey Burton, but it will do. I LOVE the sound his gun makes. And I see he's sort of like Soundwave: a bot of few words, but also not like Soundwave because at least he speaks at all. Constant communication is illogical.

Now, Cliffjumper. The bot with a mouth. I mean, WOW, he sure talks a lot. Too bad he's not voiced by Dwayne Johnson, but it's a pretty good impersonation. It's nice to see how he and Arcee got their start together. I assumed they were already on Earth, but I guess the Nemesis was floating over Cybertron the whole time. Makes sense, I guess. We see how Arcee and Cliff became partners, we see how they made it to Earth (and how Starscream knew where to find them). Good stuff. T ? heir was a partnership forged in fire, for sure.

Arcee....we saw a whole new side of her this episode. The tender side. To borrow an anime trope, she was very tsundere this ep. Alternating between cold and sweet with Cliffjumper. The brave face we're used to and the softy underneath who has seen too many Autobots die. Sumalee Montano's voice even sounded softer, she took the edge out, and it makes her sound younger, even though this is only about 3, 4 years prior to the present day.

Bulkhead getting better already annoys me. Let us wonder what condition he's in for AT LEAST another episode. He shouldn't be standing up yet, let alone walking. Oh well, it gives a frame for Miko to talk with Arcee.

And did I mention SHOCKWAAAAAAAAAAAVE

I was thinking the same thing. Screw repainting FoC Deluxe Shockwave, we better get a Voyager Shockie or....or...

...or I'll repaint Energon Shockblast! :-x

Shockwave is mostly using a tweaked version of his G1 design, but that chaingun hand is obviously a carry-over from the movies, and I kind of like that.

Didn't recognize Cliff's voice actor, at first, until I saw the credits. Then I still didn't recognize him. Couldn't at least get Nolan North?

The episode feels like it's supposed to tie in closer to Fall of Cybertron than the actual prequel comic.

While Shockwave could be dead, they set up enough doubt that they could play it either way. Since all we saw was him getting the Odysseus treatment from Arcee and being inside of a space bridge when it closed, he could still be alive. Megatron had worse, at least.

They've said before that they don't use things just once. It costs money to develop those character models, so they need to reuse them. Case in point: even though Skyquake died, his retextured twin is a main (ish) character. So we'll be seeing Shockwave again, of that I'm sure.

Which is why Cliffjumper was used again. I guarantee more Cliffjumper appearances, or at least a repaint of him

Man I really liked this episode! I agree with some others about Arcee, it was nice to see a softer side of her. And while we all knew she'd seen her share of things, this episode actually made me feel bad for a lot of what she's been through, which helps understand just why she is so hard most times. And Shockwave ... *nerdgasm* I nearly squealed when he said "logical" and I'm loving the arm cannon! I can't wait to see how he plays out in the series. I had to laugh at Starscream's introduction of him though, it was like he was speaking for the writers to the fans, saying "that's right folks ... Here he is! What up?!?" haha

I am really loving this series, and this season has been great so far, each episode is drawing me in more and more!

Makes you wonder if the Legion Tailgate redeco of Cliffjumper is indicative of anything. :-?
Well anyway. Cliff and Bee's car models were retextured and used in Speed Metal, in an example of more creative use. I think Shockwave's appearance is so distinctive, they won't use the same trick twice. He'll appear as himself again, either in more flashbacks or in the present day.

I'm extremely disappointed about Bulkhead. The last 2 episodes made it seem like such a big event, and suddenly his sudden recovery is taking a backseat to a flashback...

Shockwave rules. His design is awesome, and his character is great. Dat gun sound...

I was hoping for the Insecticon origins though...

Overall a good episode, I'm just upset that Bulkhead is already recovering.

I would contradict a lot of that, but picking it all apart would take about 10 minutes. Though, I have to say, I'm impressed at how much of that was on topic, good job.

Was a post deleted or something? Because that didn't make any sense at all.
I think he was talking about the last post made by Rodimus2006.

Yeah but that was two pages back. It's kind of ironic, though, congratulating someone for being on-topic, in a post that ends up being massively off-topic and out-of-place.

Shockwave was EPIC. I liked what we saw of him, even if it wasn't much. The voice was interesting, and not what I was expecting, but I think it actually fit quite well. Here's hoping he comes into play once more in the future!

... Now where's my Prime Shockwave figure? Hasbro? *hint hint* :P

I think a whole lot of confusion would have been set aside if there was quote. ;)^

Well, seeing as how Roddy's post was the last one on its page, BP probably didn't see that there was a whole other page after it and thought his would be the next post after Rod's.

It WAS posted right after his post. In the time I had the window open, you guys had filled a page with text.

I Had to leave the computer for a minute when I was typing that, so this should have been predictable.

I really do like shockwave's design, especially the dotm inspired gun linkage.

as I watched the episode I really got to thinking about the vehicons. the rank and file decepticons started as gladiators, miners, laborers, and such right? so it wouldn't have made sense for them to have a uniform look/s would it? so if that is true when did megatron reformat them into their well "uniforms"?
