We did. He got a warning. Still, he persists. And leaping in here so late in the game telling us what assholes we are for getting agitated at agitating behavior (Which, by the way, DM was sure to note when he issued the warning) only serves to derail the thread further.

n the Japanese dub of Prime, Airachnid's personality is completely different from her US interpretation. In the dub, she is a bubbly, giggling, high-strung chatterbox that is obsessed with collecting handsome boys as trophies. Played up as something of a female Pepe Le Pew, she constantly swoons over Jack, calling him her "hunk", her "darling", her "cutie Jack-chan" and various other lovey-dovey remarks as she amorously pursues him (even going so far as to sing love songs to him, mid-chase). While her sadistic qualities remain, she's played more like a creepy stalker girl than a vicious monster.

Airachnid is dubbed by Ryōka Yuzuki, the actress who dubbed Beast Wars Black Widow and Animated Blackarachnia, and so many of the quirks she conceived for those characters (such as a habit of making a hissing tshaaaaa-- noise) are present. Likewise, the constant, incessant talking seems to be a throwback to the "adlibbing" prevalent in the Japanese dub of Beast Wars.

Also, want something that'll make your head hurt even more? The Japanese dub renamed the Scraplets as "Minicons".![]()

And I used to be a defender of the J-Prime dub, but only since the first episode made it look like the most faithful J-dub yet. come episode 2 and it started showing shades of goofiness.Dead Metal wrote:Can't wait to meet those who defend that as an improvement and example how Japan does everything better.

Let me guess, from now on her rivalry with Arcee will be based on Arcee being a rival for the affections of Jack.
We totally need a Prime Abridged series that pokes fun at that.
It wasn't a visual appearance, but an auditory one.BeastProwl wrote:Sabrblade wrote: Not to mention that G1 Opimus Prime guested starred for part of an episode of it.

It's not enough that they bring back Microns as Arms Microns, but now they go and apply the American term for Microns, "Minicons", to something completely different.Va'al wrote:Because that is not confusing at all.

That's only a problem if you only watch the Japanese dub. They can't take her characterization away in the original English.

Here's one thing i've been musing on but i don't think i've posted anywhere.
Generally i'm okay with most repaints, i just won't buy them; however, there is one set of repaints/ remolds that they could make and i would love to pieces. I would love it if they came out with like 3 or 4 different Prime Soundwave deluxes. The main figure itself would be mostly the same, but they could do some minor reworking in his chestal section so that he could come with a different Deployer, like Ravage or Ratbat.
] Sadly, Rumble and probably Frenzy are getting a deluxe size so they wouldnt make them Deployers, but still i think it's a cool concept.
