Wow. That was friggin' dark. Kids show? Hah.

It was a good episode, but incredibly dark. Holy wow.

So, I never thought that I would describe the zombie episode of anything as a breath of fresh air, but holy god was this episode a mercy. After 3 episodes of Scavenger Hunt mania, AGAIN. It's nice to see a good, fun ep like this.

Finally a decepticon centric episode. Been missing Knock Out.

So that's what happened to C.Y.L.A.S, huh? I'd have preferred death...

Holy scrap those zombies are terrifying...the Xenomorph tendril things...you know, for kids!

That scene between Knock Out and Starscream...I could hear the fangirls cheering and rushing to DeviantArt...

Oh boy! Airachnids freed! That's great!

Oh boy! Airachnids a zombie-robot-vampire! Even better!

All in all, a great episode. I loved the zombie's design, and had some great little lines and moments. Shockwave and Predaking need more screentime too, but you just can't have everything I guess...4/5.

Episode 60 -

The opening bit with the lightning gives it a nice classic horror film feel.

Starscream's mentioning Airachnid so soon in the episode has me curious. Maybe she really will show up in this one after all? I'll keep watching.

Starscream says that he supervised the acquisition of "dozens" of Predacon bones. If he's not exaggerating, then either some more bones were recovered off screen, or this episode takes place a bit later from when the last one left off.

Well well well. Looks like Knock Out hasn't killed or dissected Cylas just yet. He's merely been keeping him around, bound to an operating table, as both a prisoner to torture in his off hours and as a test subject for his experiments.

And this time, Knock Out's testing Synthetic Energon on him.

Even though he's still partially human, Cylas reacts to Synth En as aggressively as (if not moreso than) Ratchet did.

Starscream: "Megatron has long desired a beast machine super-soldier," - ugh, okay, that's enough Beast Era name-droppings already. This is becoming like the poor overuse of "more than meets the eye" in the first live action movie.

Since Cylas grows ever difficult to control the more doses of Synth En he's given, Starscream wants to add Dark Energon to the formula to make Cylas controllable by Megatron.

Knock Out: "Okay, true that Lord Megatron seems to possess a symbiotic link to anyone or thing infused with the dark matter allowing them to manipulate them as if they were puppets, but... have you forgotten what the so-called Blood of Unicron did to our warship?" - Let's hear it for Mr. Exposition! Bob Budiansky would be proud.

Since Raf had taken ill to the effects of Dark Energon before, Cylas's human half should, theoretically, also fall ill.

So... what, now he's part-zombie, part-vampire? He's even aiming for Starcream's neck (or close to it, at least). Knock Out even says that he's trying to "suck out [their] energon", which is more akin to a vampire than a zombie.

Starscream said "Vehicon troopers". Second time the term has been used in this show.

First time an episode uses both the terms "Vehicon" and "Terrorcon" in the same episode.

LOL at Knock Out running one way and then the other.

Ahh, Screamer and KO have a buddy-buddy moment.

Knock Out proposes that the reason Megatron cannot control the new Terrorcons is due to the Synthetic Energon possibly corrupting his link to them.

Ay yi yi, another mention of the "beast machine super-soldier". WE GET IT, alright? Though, I do love Knock Out mentioning how, despite Megatron sending him and Starcream to hunt down Cylas being part of their punishment, sending him and Starscream isn't exactly the wisest idea since neither are really adept at handling such a situation when there are other, more capable choices (like, as KO mentions, the Predacon) better suited to handling this. Yet, Starscream, not being an idiot, points out that that's too great a risk, since a vampiric Terrorcon Predacon would be unstoppable. Great moments of brilliance in characterization need to happen more often. :D

Vehicons and Insecticons working together against Terrorcons is surprisingly a joy to watch.

Uh oh, Terrorcon Cylas found the vault containing the Polarity Gauntlet and... Airachnid.

And... she's free. More trouble's a-brewin'.

The Spider Woman is sure out of practice since we last saw her. It's... actually kind of interesting seeing her get her butt handed to her so easily despite how capable she's previously been shown to be.

Then again... nevermind. Her webbing saved her.

She... she killed him. Cylas, I mean Silas, is dead... and free. "Thank you," he said. The first death ever given by Airachnid in this show that turned out to be merciful, even if inadvertently.

And now she calls for the Insecticons.

Soundwave vs. Airachnid, Round 2.

And, like a boss, he pulls an "Orion Pax, Part 1" on her by bridging her out of the ship just like he did to Arcee. Only this time, it's to one of Cybertron's moons. Brutal.

Though, he also bridged away several Insecticons, leaving Airachnid still having some troops of her own, and Megatron down a few bug troopers.

As of this episode, Megatron has just lost more than half of his military forces. And Knock Out has been ordered to hand over ALL of his projects, including those with Synth En, to Shockwave. As for Starscream, it's punishing time.

And now, Airachnid has also become a vampire, biting her Insecticon minions. However, unlike the Terrorcons, she somehow maintains her sanity. If the Insecticons also become vampiric Terrorcons, then things can only get worse for the Autobots.

Speaking of which, no Autobots appeared AT ALL in the episode. A rarity.

This episode is a reminder of why I like the interactions between the Decepticons in this show more than I do the Autobots. They feel just as much of a ragtag, dysfunctional family who gets on each other's nerves just as much as the Maximals did in Beast Wars. Their diverse personalities both complement and contrast each other so well that the interactions between each of them just fee so much fun, as opposed to most of the Autobots whose interactions often feel a little too perfect and not conflicting enough. There's a distinct notice of "they don't like each other, but are forced to work with and tolerate each other anyway" going on here, and it's really great when we see the usually bickering Cons expressing genuine moments of camaraderie and admiration for one another like the often-quarreling Starscream and Knock Out get to do in this one. They bug each other, yet they also secretly respect one another. And, they're the villains of the show, the guys we're not supposed to be rooting for, but can't help but get a kick out of anyway for how they play off of one another.

It was also a nice surprise to see Cylas, now back to Silas, get some closure, and Airachnid's exile opens up some possibilities for further use of her. However, with only five episodes left, I expect her to either be ignored for the remainder of the show (a la Meltdown's ambiguous fate in Animated), or any wrapping up of her story to be quick and done with swiftly, since there's Project: Predacon to focus on.

Next week... no next episode preview. Next new episode doesn't come until June 28th. Till then, reruns.

Sabrblade I don't think KO was being buddy buddy with him......... He was hitting on him. Which brings up so many connotations to KO's relationship with Breakdown.

Gotta say

I was really looking forward to this episode and by gosh it was awesome.

The relationships and mechanics among the deceptions are far more interesting to watch and are probably more interesting to write for rather than the do-gooding autobots. top notch writing all around.

The fate of silas breakdown was actually quite cool and I hope that it draws a line under the issue with airachnid now back in the mix.

theres a lot of ground to cover now as there only a few episodes left til the end of the season so things should be moving pretty fast to get to the climax.

Looking forward to the next episode.

i gotta admit, after watching the latest episode of tfp it kinda had a resident evil vibe to it. even at the part where knockout told starscream to aim for the head, and after the vehicon's head was blown off, the energon-draining tentacle was still there, reminded me of the plagas parasite. and by the term, "resident evil vibe", i mean the games, and not those live action movies.

Awesome, and I was right about these being (Blade-esc) Vampires and not Zombies. And the show is getting darker, I mean an on-screen human death after going through what Silias has? Holy crap.
And the end with Airachnid? That is dark and twisted!

I love how this put an end to a couple of plot threads while setting the stage for future episodes. And yea Knock-Out was totally hitting on Starscream.

njb902 wrote:Sabrblade I don't think KO was being buddy buddy with him......... He was hitting on him. Which brings up so many connotations to KO's relationship with Breakdown.

No it doesn't, Knock-Out wouldn't have been doing what he's been doing with Silias if he had something with Breakdown, plus we already know Breakdown had a thing for Airachnid, he still followed orders to kill her though.

We just ended up with this show having four factions you know.
Autobots
Decepticons
Predacons
And Vampires

There are of course the Pirates, but those haven't shown up in the show yet.

Not quite sure did they wanna make this episode scary or funny in first place. However, in the second they sucseed.

Nice episode, firstly, it is interesting to see episode without any trace of the Autobots. Secondly, episode without Arcee can't all bad.

But most of all, it was nice to see Brakdown/Silas/CYLAS again, it good that character remain story important, even after his "demise".

So now Airanchid is a Vampire. It is kinda cool, except I don't understand why she in'snt turn into mindless zombie like others. I quess creators simply won't take a risk to be consider a sexist #-o.

Airachnid may have not turned into a mindless zombie because she didn't die before becoming one like what happened with the Vehicons, nor did she use up her Energon reserves like Silas did.

Also, a bit weird Starscream implies the Vehicons are well-trained soldiers, all things considered.

You know after seeing this episode and looking up a preview of the next issue of the Beast Hunters comic I think it's safe to say we'll be seeing Airachnid and her vampire Insecticon army in there. :)

And I know I'll be in the minority for this but I find most of the Autobots in Prime to be as fun and interesting as the Decepticons.

Well, all Decepticons go through military training of some sort. As the Vehicons are the bulk of the Decepticon force, it'd be logical to infer they all had similar military preparation and skills.

On a related note, the Autobots are a minority among the surviving Cybertronians. The reason the show Autobots go through Vehicons like tissues is because they are some of the strongest remaining Cybertronians alive. In my personal canon, some Vehicons HAVE killed Autobots, and earning kills is what leads to promotions, and -according to their toy bios- "making a name for themselves".

A cool episode - I think it was intentionally dark and funny. . I thought it was pretty creepy for what is supposedly a kids show! it would've been a good Halloween special and reminded me of somethin from the buffyverse.

Knock out again proves he's the stand out character and I'm sure the writers have lots of fun with him. No autobots or humans....

Re the previous episode, wheeljack and arcee's hinted romance again echoes springer and arcee's dynamic in the movie. With smokescreen/ hot rod being the third wheel.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

Why are there so many comments about Arcee Whelljack romance all of a sudden? They go out on one mission together, realize that the other isn't as bad as he/she first thought and that they can relate to each other.
How does that qualify as romance? Because if that does, well, then every character in this series has a romantic relationship with everyone else.
Jack and Arcee
Jack and Raff
Jack and Miko
Raff and Miko
Bulkhead and Miko
Ultra Magnus and Miko
Megatron and Shockwave
Megatron and Terrorcons
Megatron and Optimus
Fowler and Bulkhead

Fowler and all three kids
Ratchet and every human ever

Airachnid and Jack (oh wait ... Japan ....)

I mean seriously, just because they have a different gender and exchanged a few words with each other doesn't mean they're an item.

Shippers scare me. I live in fear every time my wife brings up Castle.

I wonder if Megatron couldn't control Silas not because of KO's theory, but because he was human with a Cybertronian body. How much of Breakdown did MECH remove to connect Silas into his body? Did he even have a spark chamber left? Were any of his personality components left intact? If any or all of that were removed it doesn't surprise me that Megatron couldn't control Silas.

That episode yesterday was awesome. My favorite episode so far. I liked how it was like a reference to a bunch of other episodes; Starscream and Knockout repeating almost exactly word for word Optimus and Arcee's dialogue from episode 7, when they were stranded in Antarctica, and Soundwave pulling that ground bridge trolling trick again. Oh, and human deaths. :APPLAUSE: Good job, episode. Now to finish off those annoying kids.

Latest update on Transformers: Prime airing on the Vortexx:

Well, I guess that's it. No episode aired this morning, with the lineup now having back-to-back episodes of Sonic X, Justice League Unlimited, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Yu-Gi-Oh! playing all throughout the morning (Rescue Heroes and Nanoboy were the only shows aired with single episode airings), and it looks like this will be the case for next week as well.

Although, Transformers: Prime still has its own website on MyVortexx.com, but then again, so do some of the block's other former shows like Cubix, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, and WWE Saturday Morning Slam.

There's also a comment on Vortexx's Facebook in which someone says "No. Transformer ended their time on Vortexx." Not a good sign.

Guess we don't have to worry about seasons 2 and 3 being edited, then. But, I still need to compare episode 2, since my original recording got deleted before, and now it looks like I can't. :-(

Still, there's always the possibility that it could come back to Vortexx at a later point, but I don't regularly watch Vortexx, so I'll either need to keep checking the TV schedule every week or hope that anyone who does watch Vortexx regular will let me know when and if the time comes.

Till then, it looks to be over.

God forbid we don't have precise documentation of the often minor edits Saban made in one episode of a one-time broadcast of a show which is available in its preferable, unedited format everywhere else. I understand that you have a passion for thoroughness, whether caused by your condition or simply enhanced by it, but I really think we can let this one slide. Barring some rebroadcast, or wider publication of these edited versions of the episodes, nobody is going to care in 3 years that this show was edited for its network broadcast when the unedited versions are as widely-available as they are.

So there is hope that all this is simply Miko ignorance about Transformers way of life :-$ And to be honest I hope it is. In such dark series, trivial romances could destroy entire atmosphere, it simply dose'nt fit there! Also, technically it is impossible, considerind thar Cybertronias are genderless. Arcee seems to be femine, but truely she is the same robot like others. It of course is not enough to make all female fans to stop worshiping her despite bad development, but whatever.

Could be,but it is rather obvious that Silas did'nt control the Zombie, so there is no way to prove this either.

Call me crazy, but I really hope we see Breakdown again :michaelbay:

Also, it is only me or Prime is so far the most Con-centered series in the entire franchise?

How does that qualify as romance? Because if that does, well, then every character in this series has a romantic relationship with everyone else.
Jack and Arcee
Jack and Raff
Jack and Miko
Raff and Miko
Bulkhead and Miko
Ultra Magnus and Miko
Megatron and Shockwave
Megatron and Terrorcons
Megatron and Optimus
Fowler and Bulkhead
Fowler and Optimus
Fowler and all three kids
Ratchet and every human ever

Airachnid and Jack (oh wait ... Japan ....)

I mean seriously, just because they have a different gender and exchanged a few words with each other doesn't mean they're an item.

I was using it to further back my pet theory that prime wheeljack was inspired by G1 springer...

Looks like someone's a bit touchy bout their tf's being involved romantically with each other. I used the word "hint", and there was a certainly a hint of a relationship forming between arcee and wheeljack - perhaps not romantic, might be the cybertronian equivalent of a bromance or buddy buddy / comrade platonic relationship. And as you say just cos one of them is female, it unnecessarily leads us to imply that it's romantic when it mightn't be.

The fact miko bollocks Jack about arcee and his mum perhaps skewers it too. Perhaps past examples of relationships existing between male and female autobots in the G1 continuity might also make us think that way.

lol @ airachnid and jack tho. You appear to have left knock out and starscream off the list though.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

If I listed every character who in fan terms could have a romantic relationship I would still be typing out examples, besides, that list was just an exaggerated list of humorous examples, and in no way meant to be complete, just to further underscore the sentence right before the list.

Also, I have nothing against TFs entering romantic relationships, it just annoys me to no end when people post about how character A and B are now the new dream couple just because they talked/ touched one's shoulder/ punched/ gutted one another. Those kinds of fans will sometimes go down the ultra creepy lane and get real pissy when you or the creators don't agree with them. This goes for any fandom and not just this one here.

And the comment wasn't directly entirely towards you, just more in general, you're not the only one who voiced that, if it had been specially directed at you I would have quoted you.

Nope, she's female, the only incarnation of TFs that originally are genderless are the idw G1 TFs, with Arcee being the first Tf with a gender because Jhiaxus decided to introduce genders into his species.

Fells kinda good, being posting again.

And the Marvel G1 TFs.

And the Dreamwave G1 TFs, by way of "The Ultimate Guide" book and Dreamwave's own going under before they could introduce more "female" TFs. ;)

I was not aware that the G1 Marvelrun mentioned TFs being genderless. Do you know (roughly) where that occurs?

Yeah, I was really looking forward to issue 11, which I believe was going to feature more fembots. (Or, at least, one of the variant covers previewed in earlier issues had fembots on it.)
