Chalk it up to either Motive Decay or Sanity Slippage. Maybe a combination of both. Let's face it, the Megatrons across the franchise have never been a picture of mental health. ;)
Not even Beast or Animated Megs? (who are arguably the two most sound minded, rational thinking Megatrons)

I don't know about beast wars megatron. At the end of the series he was pretty bonkers.

BW Megs went off the deep-end around the time of Beast Machines, when he developed his fanatical hatred of organics. Animated Megatron...well, probably had his own issues.

It's not just Megatron: Most despots usually are typically mentally unhinged in some way. You can't be a despot and a sane rational person at the same time.

Indeed. Just because someone seems to be in control of themselves doesn't mean they're not unhinged in some way.

Animated Megatron at least seemed to keep levelheaded throughout his term, even when controlling Omega Supreme.

At least he didn't break down or throw a tantrum when he knew he was beaten. He simply swallowed his pride, admitted defeat, and told Optimus to go ahead and get it over with by killing him, only for Optimus to respond, "That would be the easy way out," and slap some cuffs on him. Megs was humbled, humiliated, and brought before the Cybertronian public like some prized hog, yet he made no fuss about it, only glaring in silent displeasure.

Post-season 3, he stood coldly yet collectedly inside his cell in Trypticon Prison, and, after irately yet calmly speaking a bit about Optimus Prime, gave his final words to the audience: "Now, if you'll excuse me, my trial is set to commence in the morning and I must be rested for that farce."

Eh, boring episode.

Also, I figured they were reanimating Cylas/Breakdown during Thirst. Vehicon Zombies look vicious as hell. I'm pumped for next week, but I thought Knock Out was working with Synth-En, not Dark-En.

By the all spark next week looks good,

I thought that it was a pretty good episode, it was nice to see Arcee and Wheeljack having that little heart to heart, and I noticed Predaking seems to be getting more mature and advanced intelligence with every episode .

Episode 59 -

Looks like Jackie just bridged back to base instead abandoning the team altogether. Phew!

Jack and Raf thought Miko was getting them sodas the whole time.

Next Con hotspot is in Taos, New Mexico.

It's a trap!

AAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH! HE SAID "VEHICON"!!!! JACKIE ACTUALLY SAID "VEHICON"!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAYEAAAAAAHH!!!!!! :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK:

Wheeljack just threw Arcee in a similar move to how Bulkhead has done. Cool.

Wheeljack: "You sure you weren't a Wrecker?"
Arcee: "You sure you don't play well with others?" -- Were they flirting with each other?

Ha, Jack playing a Galaga-esque game.

OOOH! Greg Weisman wrote this episode!

Uh oh, Jack noticed Fowler telling June to call him "William".

Raf found a Predacon talon that's located in a museum. It was excavated in 1922, and put into storage when scientists were stumped by what it was.

AAAAAAAAAGGGHHH! FOWLER SPOKE THE NAME OF "UNIT:E" AS THE ORGANIZATION HE WORKS FOR!!!!! YYYYAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK:

Nice one Jack. Your intents were good, but your method was faulty. If you want to keep your mom and Fowler from growing closer, you'll have to work better and smarter.

Knock Out called Starscream "Screamer". Has that happened before in a cartoon?

Megatron called the new Predacons to come "a new wave of beast machine super soldiers".

The Predacon seems quite intrigued by what Megatron speaks about more Pred clones coming.

Whoops. The big guy just broke the Nemesis' interstellar navigation dish (the same one Bulkhead destroyed back in the five-part pilot). Now the Cons shouldn't be able to activate their space bridge to Cybertron until it gets fixed. At least, one would think.

For a sec, I thought Wheeljack was gonna open up to Arcee about his past with Magnus. Guess not.

Is that the same museum from episode 10? Looks like it.

Fowler's divorced, while June describes her story with Mr. Darby as a "saga".

"Knock Out to Lord Megatron, I secrued one vintage Predacon talon, plus two of the Autobots' pets for you to employ as hostages, lab experiments, well, anyway you see fit. So, go on, Big M, tell me you love me more than Starscream... My Liege? Hello? Too familiar?"

And, yes, with that dish destroyed, the Cons' communications network is down.

LOL, Miko's an Arceeljack shipper.

LOL, Knock Out's listening in on Fowler and June bickering, and giving his appalled commentary on the idea of humans "interfacing".

Well, looks like Wheeljack is opening up to Arcee about Magnus after all. But, as it turns out, it isn't Magnus that's currently bothering him. It's Bulkhead. Wheeljack is saddened to see that Bulkhead has gone soft since his joining up with Optimus. Arcee encourages him to, no matter how much things may change between Wreckers an ex-Wreckers, to not push Bulkhead away, as she had done to her other partners in the past.

Guess pepper spray does work on bots. On their optics, at least.

Like the museum, this train yard looks familiar.

Wheeljack admits that his leaving the others like he did last episode was pretty "spineless" of himself. Arcee note that he has plenty of "backbone" now (he's dragging a Predacon spine, and possibly flirting again). ;)

Knock Out: "Try as you might, you can't con a Con." - MAN, Knock Out is getting so many great moments of whit in this one! :D

Incoming Insecticons!

YEAH! Go Jackie!

Arcee's packin' that whip of hers.

Quick and slick, Jackie!

What the-?! WHY did Arcee STOP at the GroundBridge? She could have made that like she'd done before.

Well, Knock Out got away with the goods. That's Autobots - 1, Decepticons - 3.

Jack: "'Bill'?" - Oh dear.

Miko: "Looks like you've been jacked, Jack. By another 'Jack'." - And then she rests her elbow on his shoulder. Awww.

Jack: "Bromance trumps romance."
Miko: "Glad to be your bro, Bro."

The beast is studying. He's getting smarter...

VERY fun episode! Really liked this one, and I did not expect to. Knock Out stole the show for this one and he was glorious. Didn't really care for the Fowler/June thing, but it was still enjoyable seeing those two play off each other. And Jackie seems to have made another friend in the team, which could prove interesting. All in all, another winner.

Next week, TERRORCON BREAKDOWN AND TERRORCON VEHICONS!!!

Well, had season 4 come about, it would have resulted with him blasting the entire Kaon prison city off of Cybertron and escaping back to Earth with all of Kaon as his new island fortress.

As is, though, he may be in prison, but at least he's taking it like a man.

Not in the cartoons as far as I can tell, but SG Soundwave refers to him as "Screamer" in the BotCon 2012 "Invasion" comic, so it has happened before.

I like this episode, this is why you need the human element. In my personal opinion if we didn't get the human perspective then i don't think i would like the show that much. Beast wars of course being the exception. Knock out trying to radio the ship was awesome, june and will or "bill", i could see it from the day they met. He had his optics on her. Now next weeks episode should give us all the answers we need. What happened to Silias? Also not what i was expecting, zombies ohh yeah boom head shot :D

This episode was even better than I expected. My main fear was that they would make Knock Out fail. But HELL NO. Big K.O was an epic win!
This one made me see Knock Out as way more bad-ass.
Also, nice to FINALLY see Fowler and June hooking. Been waiting for it since they intro'd her to the bots.
So, Arcee and Wheeljack? Who knew? Miko apparently did.
But, will the human-bromance turn into romance? Doubt we'll ever learn.
Mi-ko 'n Jack sit-tin' in the base, k-i-s-s...

But next week's gonna be AWESOME. Grab your Z.A.-survival kits! It's the return of the Terrorcons!

A very good episode. I'm a little tired of the "hunt" aspect of it and airing them so they're all happening at the same time, storywise. Gets convoluted and confusing if you're not paying close attention. Though, they're handling it better than they did in season 2.

I do love Knock Out. One of my favorites.

However, I was a bit shocked by the whole "interface" comment. Shades of Beast Wars season 2, for a moment. I'm surprised they put it in there. Guess they realize it's the end and basically "!@#$ it."

You just know Vortexx is gonna cut that line out first before any other edits. lol

I think this was one of the best eps in a long while. And of course Greg Weisman's behind it.
Knock Out, June, Fowler, and Predaking were all amazing, of course, but what I really like is how Raf does something besides hack a computer to save the day!

That, or he's learning. Or both. Seriously, there've been clues since "Prey" that "the Predacon" is far smarter than he's letting on. And with the reveal of the latest episode synopsis, it's a question of when/how Predaking will reveal his greater intelligence... and if Shockwave has a replay of his "Dinobot Incident" from FoC. ;)

gotta love knock out - one of TF prime's standout character imho

i liked the scene where Big M congratulates knock out and belittles starscream - reminde dme from the scene from the movie "well done lazerbeak, unlike some of my other warriors, you never fail me"

i get a feeling that the writers would have had a dinobots versus predacons scenario if they had more episodes this season
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

Now i wonder what sort of voice predaking will have? For some strange reason a heavy British accent would almost fit him :D In all seriousness, you could tell from the very first time you seen predaking he was up to something. Doesn't shockwave have some sort of chip on them that makes them loyal? I thought i heard about something like that in the first few episodes?

Shockwave said he had microchips his old Pred clones so he could track them (or, in this case, their remains). What he said about Predaking was something like "the beast is fully under my control."

That reminds me, we still haven't heard news on who Gregg Berger's playing, have we?
No, but we know Peter Mensah's voicing Predaking. ;)
