The Cartoons have budgets too, and generally a good business model is to spend little and make a lot more money then what you spent on making the product or service you sell, while still making a quality product or service.

But everything is still CG. Why not cut out all the pointless stuff and focus on Cybertron?

Because Hasbro is so insistent in putting humans in their series.

They need to quit. They're not making any toys of the humans, so why do they keep putting them in there?

So that kids can dream of being the kids in the show.

That's what the video games and novels were for.

We at least know the Dinobots stayed behind. ;)

1. The "dead Cybertron" idea originally came from the IDW comics, which the movies also took from.
2. A completely CGI feature is way more expensive than a partially CGI live action feature. Only difference here is that the CG in this show is cheaper than that of the movies.

SlyTF1 wrote:But everything is still CG. Why not cut out all the pointless stuff and focus on Cybertron?
Because that's unmarketable to the target audience in this day and age. Beast Machines tried it and it proved unsuccessful both critically and commercially.

They may throw us a bone every once in a while, but we are not, nor will we ever be, the target audience of this franchise.

I guess they want to have that connection. I think the next series should be about the civil war.

blah! I can relate to well written characters. Those characters needn't be human. You might be able to argue a half point towards Jimmy Olsen, but other than that, Superman isn't a human character and kids have loved him to varying degrees for 70years!

On the other hand...I really want a Miko toy after seeing this weeks episode.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

To be honest, man, why are you even a fan of this franchise if you so badly want the bad guys to win? A big selling point of the Transformers is that good can, does, and always will triumph over evil. No matter how bad things get, the stories always come around with a sense of hope that goodness will reign in the end. The evil factions must lose, no matter how successful they may ever get before then. The only times they ever go the route of "the bad guy wins" are in special cases like alternate timelines/realities, events that eventually lead up to the good guys winning in the end, a dream/fantasy/false reality, a storyline that gets dropped midway through by the powers that be, or other such abnormal cases. And nearly all of these only come in the form of comic books, since those can get away with doing that kind of stuff more than cartoons or movies can since the cartoons/movies are the most mainstream forms of TF story media, and as such have stricter rules set by Hasbro as to what kind of stories they can tell. The only reason TF: Prime season 2 ended the way it did was because it was both a cliffhanger done for suspense, and was eventually undone by the events of season 3 giving a much-needed turn-around victory to the heroes. Hasbro will never intentionally let the villains win in the end because it would give their brand an otherwise negative image. This is a franchise whose stories promote and support positive, virtuous messages of hope, peace, love, kindness, friendship, camaraderie, loyalty, honor, and many more, and has thrived on for so long partly because of it.

Honestly, I thought "Chain of Command" was kind of dull. Starscream & Predaking were hilarious and Miko kicked serious butt, and that was cool, but the rest was kinda boring. I expect Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack's little squirms to be entertaining, yet they were not. And the way Wheeljack "wussied out" in the end annoyed me a little as well.

"Plus One" will be the return of Knock Out. His surprising lack of screen time this season's disappointing, but I'm sure that "Thirst" will clear that all up. That is, if he doesn't die during that episode.

So far, "Project Predacon" has been the only episode this season I genuinely liked. I pray the season can clean its act up for me before the series' end. I like Prime; I don't want the series finale to leave a sour taste in my mouth.

To be honest the only think I don't like about hes death is to killing another Cons will Bot's team remain unharmed.

Don't forget that in Bayformers universe we have few alternate endings, and in some Cons finally won. I belive despite this ednings are'nt follow next movies, thay should still be consider as a "real" one. So Megatron from Transformers the Game is the same guy, and there exist the version of Megatron witch won at the Mission City and aquire the Allspark. And in Armada Decepticons in the end are victors, because they defend Cybertron from Unicron. They share this triumph with Autobots, but still it is only series where Cons finally won.

I think the best way to end Prime would are either few alternate endings, or a cliffhanger. Con supporters suffer enough thanks to Bay's Idiocity.

Someone obviously didn't read the rest of my post.

Re:Armada - The Cons weren't "bad guys" anymore by that point, so they could only win by joining forces with the good guys and fighting on the side of good themselves (regardless if they wanted to or not).

I wouldn't mind the bad guys winning more battles while the good guys win the war.

After a while it just feels like the cons are pointless. Even as a kid I thought why would they fight, they never win.

Yeah and. When in any of that did you think any Autobot was in real danger of going offline? When did you ever think that wow how are the Autobots going to overcome this turn of events? Have you ever really thought (besides Soundwave) that any con is a real threat?

Not in those episodes but in "Toxicity" I legitimately thought that Bulk head was gonna die, and also in Rebellion I expected Wheeljack to die,

Megatron is real threat against anyone except for Optimus (Orion Pax Part 3, Rebellion).

Yeah, that's unlikely to happen. it's in my opinion a rule that every series has to end with the good guys winning. You can have a season end like that, given it's not the final season, but every show that I know has ended with good guys winning.

But I wouldn't mind if the 'Cons got all the bone-relics, meaning the Autobots would lose that fight, so they would have more Predacons to fight. It would make it more interesting.
