Let me put it this way: This show is unlikely to ever tell us how old or young the Decepticons are, so there's no point in us asking.psj333 wrote:Sabrablade, I can see where you`re from. I don`t know just how young or how old that Terry was. But I supposed that he`s not that old though. From what I know so far, that one who portrayed Terry, Kevin Michael Richardson, also portrayed Bulkhead from Transformers: Prime. Just like from Transformers: Animated, Bulkhead was a pretty young bot, somewhere between his early to mid-20s. Both Terry and Bulky sounded quite similar. Because there are a lot of people who I knew, heard, or saw who are extremely young also talk like that. Which means, you don`t have to be young to have a young-sounding voice. The sound has absolutely have nothing to do on how big or how young you are, although the media loves to portray big strong men as loud and deep-sounding. I have just seen a clip of former WWE wrestler, Heidenreich who sounded similar to Terry, but much younger. This was when he was in his 20s right before he became a wrestler. Tell me if he sounds just like Terry to you. This is a pretty long clip. The real deal kicks off at the 5:30 mark:

Re: The Official Transformers: Robots In Disguise (Animated Series) Thread
Earlier, the show has confirmed that a Chompazoid is Transformer that has the ability to eat and drink, just like all living things do. Does that mean that a Chompazoid is a cyborg version of a Transformer, and not fully robotic in any way? I googled the robot mode for Underbite, and it turns out that he is not a Dinobot was once previously thought, but a gorgonopsian, which is extinct mammal-like reptile that looks like a giant dog, to which Underbite's robot mode is based on. Is he really a gorgonopsian, or there are many other reptiles that truly represents this animal?

Sabrablade, last time you told me that Terrashock don't have an accent in the same way was Hammerstrike and Chop Shop do. But upon watching the clip on dailymotion, it seems to me that Terrashock actually had a Brooklyn-type accent, the one typical in Mafia films and culture.

Episode 6
Bumblebee: "Fixit, didn't I ask you and Sideswipe to work in this, together?"
Fixit: "Well, yes, Sir, but Sideswipe's stabilizer is sore, so he thought it might be better if I did it myself."
*Bumblebee sees Sideswipe off jamming to some music*
Bumblebee (*sighing*): "You know, I think Sideswipe might be taking advantage of you."
Fixit (*laughs*): "Hardly, Sir! Sideswipe offered to cover my elephant cage cleaning duties for the next five cycles. Fair trade.
"
Bumblebee: "No, Fixit. We don't have any elephants."
Fixit: "...Oh...
...Then what have I been cleaning?!"
Whilst trying to berate Sideswipe, Bee gets distracted by the music.
Customer! Altmode time! (though Fixit just pretends to be a statue)
And the customers are... cultists.
They serve the Kospego, a local legend. Denny's description: "Some kind of giant, cranky elk-like creature, walks on two legs, and has the strength of a thousand humans, right?"
The "Kospego" has a Brooklyn accent.
Bee suspects something and tells Russell not to give the cultists, out of everything on their massive shopping scroll, the generator they asked for.
Strongarm's returned from a mission and found a Decepticon Hunter. It's a device that was standard issue on all prison ships. It works by connecting to its user's neural transmissions, so whatever weapon the wielder imagines, the Decepticon Hunter generates within certain parameters.
Bee finally explains why he wouldn't let Denny sell the cultists a generator. Based on the items on their list, Bee suspects that the Kospego might be a Decepticon impersonating the myth to force those humans into helping him jury-rig a space bridge.
Bee fears that the slightest misalignment in the space bridge's components might create a black hole-like phenomenon that could badly damage or even destroy the Earth.
The Alchemor's prisoner manifest does list a Decepticon named Thunderhoof matching the Kospego's general description.
After a successful "Roll out!" in a previous ep, Bee's latest failed attempt is "Let's rev, rock, and rumble!"
Grimlock is surprised to learn he can't fly.
The cultists think they're building an altar for the Kospego.
Sideswipe and Bumblebee pretend to be other made up legends ("Sideswingo" and "Bumbigo") to scare away the cultists.
Thunderhoof ran one of the biggest criminal enterprises on Cybertron. "Half you cops are on my payroll!"
Thunderhoof's trying to bridge to Cybertron to take back his turf.
Thunderhoof can generate a shockwave by stomping his foot.
Sideswipe tricks Thunderhoof and Bee into thinking that he's turning on Bee to join up with Thunderhoof, as well as convincing Thunderhoof to not harm Bee (because he's not worth it).
The space bridge goes awry and causes a black hole like Bee feared.
Bee forced Thunderhoof into the black hole.
They need to close the hole via a detonation within in, releasing more energy than it's generating. To do so, they push the generator powering it into the hole, causing it to explode and collapse the hole in on itself.
Bee notes that, though the bridge was unstable, Thunderhoof's disappearance into it looked more like a teleportation.
Sure enough, Thunderhoof survived and ends up somewhere else on Earth. In front of Steeljaw.
The cultists now seek out "Sideswingo" and "Bumbigo" for sacred guidance.
Troy Baker -- Arnold
Frank Stallone -- Thunderhoof
Another fun one. The whole cultist angle was a plot atypical of most Transformers cartoons, having really not been used much outside of comics or one or two Japanese series, so it was refreshing to see something kinda new. And the plot surrounding Sideswipe's rebellious nature was handled well enough, and was neat to see done with Bumblebee in the leader role since he himself used to be the young bot. Thus, rather than the usual "father/son" type ordeal with usually get with Optimuses and the kid-appeal character, it was more like an "older brother/younger brother" situation, which is cool. As for Thunderhoof himself, though there wasn't really anything wrong with the character, he wasn't much different from a typical mob boss portrayal. A surly law-bender who talks tough with an accent as thick as Bart Rathbone. Though, he could at least match blows with the rest of them. Hopefully we'll see more layers of the guy's personality in episodes to come, what with him teaming up with Steeljaw.

Sabrblade I just saw a clip of Thunderhoof on dailymotion.com, and it turns out that I was right. He does have a Brooklyn accent. That accent was believed to be a typical accent for Italian Americans. But judging by his color schemes, Thunderhoof wasn`t an Italian American, but Jewish American. Why? Because the colors that Jews love to use as their cultural symbol is blue. For those of you who do not know what this is, here is an example for you that matches Thunderhoof's color scheme:

Italians have light blue as their sports teams colours too.
As an Italian, saying that we're associated to organised crime, Brooklyn, antlers and aliens, I find it all very offensive.

Look, Va'al, I'm sorry if I had already offended you. I'm just want to let everyone here know that I don't want to upset anybody here. But you're right. I didn't that Italians talk like that, the Jews talk like that, gangsters, talk like that, deers talk like that or anything else. I;m just saying that the reason why these people talk like that, is because the media wants them to. They love to portray mobsters as Brooklyn-sounding people, not because of who or what they are, but because of movie genres. Take the Godfather, or the Sopranos for example. The same thing goes for cowboys. You would not assume that cowboys do talk in a Texan accent, would you? Besides, New Yorkers of various ethnicities actually do have various forms of New York accents. This clip taken from hipstomp show this type of example:

"As the Kospego Commands!" was a pretty good episode. Sideswipe's focus was nice, especially in junction to Bumblebee, and Thunderhoof was an interesting character. It was nice to see Steeljaw again, but am I the only one getting the feeling that, since Thunderhoof wants to build a new mob empire on this planet, he's going to clash with Steeljaw? Just food for thought.

Re: The Official Transformers: Robots In Disguise (Animated Series) Thread
You know, guys, I've just seen the updated synopsis on Episode #11 on the TFWiki.net website, and it says that Quillfire is a rebellious Decepticon and loves to turn his adult victims into behaving like little kids, leading me to believe that Quillfire is the youngest and the most rebellious 'Con ever! This marks the equivalent to Sideswipe who is also rebellious. If he gets hired by Steeljaw, will he be able to keep his mouth shut and do exactly what Steeljaw tells him to do, like Sideswipe did, or will he turn his back on him and kill him, and become the new leader of Decepticons?

Episode 7 -
Hiya, Filch!
She just made off with a family's camper.
Filch seems to have a thing for shiny objects.
Denny has a visitor in the form of Larry LaRue, a former acquaintance of Denny's who now hosts his own reality show "Scrapmeisters", in which he searches through people's junk for hidden treasures. But Denny wants nothing to do with Larry.
Filch got away, but Strongarm has a nagging itch.
The Alchemor's manifest describes Filch as a compulsive thief.
Bumblebee and Strongarm have a spark to spark moment in which Bee relates to her about how he used to miss Cybertron back when he first came to Earth. He got used to Earth by thinking of being on Earth as a game, with new rules to figure out. Took a while but it got easier, especially when he opened up to it.
Grimlock's been trying to look more like an Earth vehicle. "I;m a truck! Vroom! Vroom!"
Denny manages to use his Nevada Fleeber alias to trick a local patrolman into going to go set up a roadblock at the bridge while the Autobot deal with Filch.
Larry LaRue has climbed the scrapyard wall to sneak into it. Russell's handling him.
Bee swears "Scrud!" instead of "Scrap!"
Filch has made a nest for herself atop Crown City's equivalent of the Statue of Liberty.
Filch seems incapable of being able to say anything other than "Mine", "Shiny", and "Not shiny".
Larry has spotted Grimlock in his dino-truck disguise, which Russell claims is an "old, life-sized, remote-controlled Neolithi-truck toy". Larry seems to buy it, since he claims to have three.
Ha! Grimlock skateboarded to the scene.
Grimlock's holding the bridge while the other three go to save Denny.
Turns out Larry was really after some things in Denny's collection that Larry's been after for years. He threatens to show his footage on TV and have every collector come knocking at Denny's door if Denny doesn't agree to sell the items to Larry. Denny agrees on two conditions. 1) Larry must never come by the scrapyard ever again, and 2) so that Larry will keep his word, he must surrender his camera's memory cards. Larry agrees since he's still getting what he wants.
In the end, Strongarm realized that the her Autobot teammates are her ties to Cybertron, and that's okay with her.
Will Friedle -- "Junior"
Khary Payton -- "Dad"
Constance Zimmer -- Filch
John Kastovsich -- Larry LaRue
Not a particularly strong episode, but it had a couple of good messages behind it. Strongarm learned that rules and regulations needn't dominate one's rational thinking and that one's home isn't necessarily defined by where one is but who one is with. Though she's many lightyears away from Cybertron, Strongarm's home is with her team. And Denny showed us how a person can be consumed by their greed, like what happened to Larry, and how by overcoming that greed, one can see what's really important isn't the stuff one has or how much of it, but the people in his life that he shares his stuff with. In a way, it's almost like a reminder to us fans that, as much as we love this brand, there are other things in our lives that take precedence and that we shouldn't let our hobbies consume us. That said, the stuff Larry took was from Aisle 3, while Denny noted how the best stuff is on Aisle 4. Though he might not have meant it, the best is yet to come.

Oh, it sure they are fast, new episodes are coming so fast, or maybe as they should, after all, I remember how slowly new episodes were relased in Transformers: Prime, but again, it wasn't a "monster of the week" formula. And CGI was more advanced.

What is love? Baby don't hurt me, Don't hurt me, no more.

Review of “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” Two-Part Pilot Episode
- Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
Fellow member and long time fan of Seibertron.com QBKiller94 was able to attend a premiere of the Transformers Robots In Disguise cartoon hosted by Hasbro at a movie theater in New York City. They were able to write up their thoughts of the two-part pilot episode, and we've copied it below for your perusal - why not compare it to our previous review from board admin Burn here? The show is already being aired across multiple countries, and will air in the US on March 14th.
Review: “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” Two-Part Pilot Episode
By QBKiller94
“Transformers: Robots in Disguise” draws upon several of its predecessors while carving out a unique place in Hasbro’s animated lineup thanks to a striking art style, talented voice cast and promising plot lines.
“Transformers: RID” made its North American debut with a private screening at the TriBeCa Theater in New York City on Saturday. I watched the two-part pilot with my 5-year-old daughter without commercial breaks in a small theater with about 60 fans of all ages.
The pilot opens up on Cybertron with two Autobots racing down a path together -- a familiar scene for fans of the original G1 series. Bumblebee, brilliantly voiced by Will Friedle, is a veteran street cop accompanied by the young and inexperienced Strongarm. An indeterminate number of years have passed since the events of “Transformers Prime.” Optimus Prime is dead and it appears the war is over.
While Optimus is no longer leading the Autobots, his presence is felt throughout the pilot and marked physically by a giant memorial statue on Seibertron. Bumblebee sees Optimus in a vision during the apprehension of the law-breaking Sideswipe near the former Autobot leader’s memorial. The message from Optimus is loud and clear – Bumblebee must return to Earth.
The scene shifts to Earth where a boy named Rusty laments living in a salvage yard with his father, Denny. Denny is a nostalgic collector, a hoarder of things others have grown tired of and he’s not keen on throwing any of it out. It’s a subtle wink at seasoned Transformers collectors, for sure. Rusty yearns for life in the nearby city to take him away from the boring salvage yard. Rusty is a plucky, rebellious kid and Denny is a laid-back dreamer who provides comic relief. Thankfully, neither one detracts from the action of the pilot episode.
Things pick up when an Autobot prison ship crash lands in a wooded area near Denny’s salvage yard shortly before Bumblebee, Strongarm and Sideswipe arrive on Earth. Hundreds of deadly Decepticons have escaped and they’ve got to be recaptured.
On Earth, the Autobots team up with the Minicon Fixit and Grimlock, whose back story is given a fresh new spin. Grimlock, like some of the other characters, is a mash up of several previously seen Transformers personality. Grimlock, voiced by Khary Payton, is a combination of his G1 namesake and “Transformers Animated” Bulkhead. He’s massive, dumb and super kid-friendly.
Bumblebee is the reluctant leader of the group and it’s clear early on that his maturation and growth in that role is going to be one of the overarching story lines for this series.
“Entourage” actress Constance Zimmer voices Strongarm, the young, by-the-book cadet who’s eager to jump into the action despite Bumblebee’s constant coddling. She’s peppy and green as grass, basically the complete opposite of Arcee’s role in “Transformers Prime.” Sideswipe is aimed squarely at the preteen crowd. He’s a cross between “Transformers Prime” Smokescreen and Ted Theodore Logan. The diminutive Fixit rounds out the crew. He stammers and stutters comically, which makes you wonder how he ended up being in charge of a prison ship full of the universes most dangerous Decepticons in the first place.
“Transformers RID” is set up for the Autobots to embark on endless missions to hunt down these escaped cons and if the rest of them are as colorful as Underbite, then we’re in for fun ride. Underbite is a Chompazoid who is incredibly proud of his strength, which grows each time he chomps down on some metal. Underbyte flexes, preens and exclaims: “Feel the burn!” just as you’d expect an arrogant muscle head from Venice Beach or the Jersey Shore to. Underbite is a hefty Decepticon who gives the Autobots all they can handle all the while looking for validation of his past misdeeds.
The art style for “Transformers: RID” has a strong anime vibe to it with a bright color pallet to give it a softer feel than “Transformers Prime.” It’s a mix of CGI characters and painted backgrounds that works well on screen. The action scenes are animated with skill and each characters transformation is expertly executed. There is a scene where Sideswipe saves Rusty while transforming that is reminiscent of one of the more famous live action movie scenes. There’s hope that we may get some of the cinematic quality action sequences that “Transformers Prime” made common place.
Overall, it’s clear “Transformers: RID” is aiming for a younger demo graphic, but it succeeds in both entertaining the under-10 crowd and having enough meat to keep parents and older fans engaged. The pilot episode does an excellent job of setting the stage for the series with well-written characters, laugh-out-loud moments and a solid plot foundation. If you’re looking for it to be as weighty as “Transformers Prime,” then you may be disappointed. However, if you can get past the tonal change you’ll be treated to a host of original characters and a fresh new voyage into the Transformers universe.

I still think Part 1 was rushed and Part 2 has the shittiest resolve.
Meanwhile, "Collect 'Em All" was another good episode. However, while it was full of depth for Strongarm, I thought Filch would be a little more interesting than "shiny" and "mine." It got really irritating before too long. Otherwise, episode 7 carries itself nicely.

So, did "The Hub" fail? Is that why Transformers is back on Cartoon Network?

Yeah, I blame it on it being a hard-to-find channel. At least in my experience. Also, two hit shows doesn't make a great channel (MLP: FIM and TFP).
Got to see episode 7, it was ok? I really hoped Filch was going to have some sort of Gollum like personality. Character development on Strongarm wasn't bad, I still just find myself not enjoying her character. I'm really hoping Jazz and Drift will bring some more colorful character to the main cast.
